    Great topic, I've told my story before but here it is again.

     

    Not many people have much to thank annoying "Columbia Records Club" for if they even still exist today but I do!

     

    My first Rush album was actually on cassette and was Hold your Fire.

     

    Stupid Columbia House kept sending me their "tape-of-the-month" junk even though I wrote them 500 times to cancel that. To cheese them off I started opening every one they sent me listen to it once no matter what it was - put it back in the package and RETURN TO SENDER it back to them.

     

    One day Hold your Fire shows up... I didn't sleep a wink that night totally mesmerized listening to it over and over and over and over again. The rest is history!

    Respect. I can afford cable too but am looking at FTA solutions for a variety of reasons, including being totally pissed off by the crappy television monopolies we have going on in Canada.

     

    Too bad up here we also don't get the free over the air depth that you guys do.

    Lovely photo and a great poster, gotta love the Canadian flag thing!

     

    I just saw them in Ottawa a couple of weeks back but was so raptly enjoying the experience and show it never even occurred to me to look at merch. Is that poster something they sold or did you do it yourself? It's very cool.

    Now not to be a rotten asshole, and I am not familiar with this person's back story (the web page does little to explain, cites health issues + a fire), but a fundraiser for $1000 to pay for Rush tickets and transportation to the show seems a little bit odd.

     

    If some tragedy happened to a member here that we knew, you can believe that I'd be first in line to help out, and not just raising money for concert tickets... this just seems a little... I dunno.

    I'm looking for a decent seat for Tampa?

    The casino was great, barely remember getting back to the hotel.

     

    The hotel was great, pre-party by the pool meeting people and listening to RUSH all afternoon.

     

    Wild Wings was awesome. Orange spandex booty sitting on my lap pointing out which ass from their calendar was hers, what a riot that place was! Dirt cheap too.

     

    Pre and post party with so many Rush fans including people from the forum was amazing!

     

    Concert was amazing! Gave the tour shirt off my back to a broke Rush fan vet before stumbling home and smoking a big spliff with some Rush fan strangers before partying by the pool until 3am...

     

    And that is just what I remember! We had a great time there.

     

    Man we should do that all again!

    Not sure. I think it may just be a nod to the concept of a "berry" garden and how at the end it will or should be burned to the ground.

     

    I think Neil borrowed a lot of the philosophy from the following Dead Kennedys lyrics:

    I ate weird berries in the woods

    Now I'm seeing colors, I'm getting higher

    I think I'll start a forest fire

    We only know Gemini as a weirdo on the Internet, so we don't really know them as a real person to be able to determine how many of those wyptoms they exude.

     

    At a glance though, and judging as a poster, about half of those seem spot on and the other half seems exactly the opposite. I know well what acute narcissism is, but Gemini has the case of something a bit more peculiar i think.
