  1. QUOTE (Analog_Bro @ Jun 18 2012, 01:53 PM) I searched and was able to find the interview on youtube, if whoever posted it is on this site thank you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiBKxPlUmg8 Oh wow, great job finding this, I've been keeping half an eye open but hadn't seen anything! Everyone should listen to this, it is absolutely amazing!
  2. QUOTE (ShlappinDahBass @ Jun 18 2012, 01:50 PM) The fact he even used Nickelback in a RUSH review is as ignorant and stupid as thinking that Olive Garden is considered a Chinese restaurant. I wouldn't be surprised if Alex actually says something about that. I see why Rolling Stones should never do reviews on Rush. They need to sod off. People are pretty defensive. That was clearly regarding the straightforward modern (NB like) production... "modern-rock production actually adds power to these ancient masters" Doesn't sound like too much a jab to me.
  3. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Jun 18 2012, 01:29 PM) Why do music critics have to constantly use words like "koanic hokum" and "gnomic turgidity"? Is it just me, but when I see someone penning shit like that, I think they are a pretentious douche. I though this "review" was pretty funny, exactly what I expected from RS is the brevity dept and also just making wise-cracks about everything... Between the lines this guy sounds like he really enjoyed it, for Rush anyways, I'm surprised after that he only have it 3.5/5. I think his excessive use of complicated language was an intentional parody of Neil's wacky-assed lyrics, but I don't know for certain. Either way as a review, useless much like the magazine.
  4. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 15 2012, 04:50 PM) Are you having a little dig in the treasure trove today GE? Ya! Seeing what I missed the past two years!

Excuse me, was that not a picture of me? You're so new it hurts. Oh I forgot, fans of a band so alienated can afford to alienate their own kind eh? I can't help but to be curious as to what picture might have caused all this kerfuffle. Interesting that both parties have since changed their user name.
  6. QUOTE (treeduck @ Sep 29 2011, 03:26 AM) QUOTE (Janie @ Sep 29 2011, 12:32 AM) Photo taken tonight, by my five-year-old. I showed him how to use my camera and he kept moving and snapping everything. He's always bouncing off the walls anyway, so to him, this is probably what I look like. Dig on my Popeye-like arms. I've been working out at the gym you know. http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo228/LifesonPics/recent060.jpg Wow you're so muscular in that pic Janie! But your head is like that 12 year old Janus cat! treeduck Very trippy picture Janie, I love it. Your kid may be the next Karsh!
  7. QUOTE (sanzo @ Oct 13 2011, 08:23 PM) http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q265/sanzo2112/6.jpg The poser shot Dude! Did you ever get your camera back and recover our photos from Dublin?
  8. Hell yes! I officially became a Rush fan waaaaay long time ago when Columbia House Records kept sending me their album of the month shit, so to make them mad I'd open everything and listen to it (cassettes haha!) before sending them back. Except this time they sent me Rush: Hold your Fire and I never sent that one back oh boy! That was ~25 years ago and "The Garden" is the finest new song I've ever heard by them since becoming a fan. It teared me up a lot too my first listen especially.. Beauuuuuutiful song!
  9. Come on man are you serious? A megaphone? This isn't a Justin Beiber concert. No offense intended, it just seems really gimmicky to me.
  10. post COITUS that was the word. Thank you Google! http://img2-ec.etsystatic.com/000/0/5550464/il_570xN.343882638.jpg
  11. QUOTE (PhilCastro @ Jun 15 2012, 02:46 PM) I met John Petrucci today That's friggin awesome dude, great picture of you guys too!
  12. It seems we have about 11 threads on this subject floating around? As I've chimed in elsewhere, chalk me up as one who thinks if they do decide to do this they will do it right. Epic potential.
  13. Sorry to always be one-upping everyone around here, but I'm afraid I found an even awesomer pillow! This could come in really handy post-coilitis or whateverTF they call it! http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s294/Godeater2112/a423_tissue.jpg
  14. This thread may also be helpful. This topic comes up so much it could almost be pinned. http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=57369
  15. QUOTE (Karena @ Jun 15 2012, 01:02 PM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Jun 15 2012, 11:52 AM) QUOTE (Karena @ Jun 15 2012, 12:51 PM) QUOTE (GuitarPlyr01 @ Jun 14 2012, 08:00 PM) Well apparently he let the cat out of the bag accidentally during the Jim Ladd interview last night. I think they're taking an awful big risk Why would it be a big secret? Either announce it or don't. It's not nice to **** with the fans who are shelling out big bucks for tickets. While many fans defend whatever they want to do, it seems plenty have strong feelings against this. So just let us know, because there is nothing about it on the radio ad I've been hearing. Has it occurred to you that they aren't sure yet? I'd imagine they are only looking into logistics at this point, they're not even rehearsing yet. They haven't rejected the idea and that's enough. They may know. I didn't hear the interview but the tour is 2.5 months away, they should have an idea. From other sources I know this isn't popular, and it deserves a petition. It's Rush, not Bon Jovi. I trust the guys to do it "right" if they decide to. I cannot see them having an orchestra for the entire show. Instead I see them bringing that in where required on the new album and possibly a select handful of really applicable songs from the past. I'll be very excited if they decide to go this route.

  17. QUOTE (Gerxt @ Jun 15 2012, 12:46 PM) Just gotta say I love the stick click count in just before the chorus! It's a great little detail, to me it says "buckle up we are about to get busy!"
  18. QUOTE (go2wrk@95974 @ Jun 14 2012, 06:34 PM) Gross conversation won't score you any brownie points, with a very fair lady like Mara...just sayin'...... What is this all about? I on the other hand really do with I could convert night time gasses or snoring power into something useful. Perhaps one day!
  19. Holy shit! Can you imagine the Neil stopped beside you at a red light, hammered out Didacts & Narpets on the drums and then drove off without saying a word?!
  20. I have a feeling they play the whole thing... in order... maybe only broken up by the first intermission. I'd be happy whether they decide to do this or NOT, but my gut tells me the chances are around 70%.
  21. Glad to hear you enjoy it overall!
