  1. Jack, isn't Bale the guy who is going to be the next "Batman"?
  2. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 1 2004, 12:28 AM) David: I do not, for one, think that the problem was that the band was down. I think that the problem *may* have been, that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being *crushed* by a *dwarf*. Alright? That tended to understate the hugeness of the object. Ian: I really think you're just making much too big a thing out of it. Derek: Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea. Yes GG! another all time classic!
  3. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Aug 31 2004, 08:53 PM) It's such a fine line between stupid and clever... I fear I'm more the former than the latter.
  4. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Aug 31 2004, 08:53 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Sep 1 2004, 01:03 AM) I have to admit this, you guys can laugh at my expense. Ok, I was 14 when Tap came out. I didn't know the whole thing was a put on. I thought Tap was an old '60's band I had never heard of. I thought maybe David St. Hubbins might be related to that guy from Laverne and Shirley. Boy did I feel stupid when I found out. Good news Snowdog, according to the DVD liner notes, David's "Boewulf of London" is in the process of being completed. Even better, Derek Smalls (and I quote)..."has always been a seeker". Huh! My liner notes don't mention that. When did you buy that copy?

  7. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Aug 31 2004, 11:23 AM) Nigel: "The sustain, listen to it. " Marty: "I don't hear anything." Nigel: "Well you would though, if it were playing. " Edit to say, sorry, Snowdog...we took this and ran with it....oopsie! That's ok, GG. Sometimes work calls. These things can't be helped. Glad you guys enjoy this movie like I do
  8. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 30 2004, 11:26 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Aug 29 2004, 08:02 AM) Hey, I loved the Pink Panther when I was a kid. I've looked everywhere for a DVD set and can't find one. Does anyone know if this exists? Any help is appreciated. Are you referring to the Clouseau movies or the cartoon series? The cartoon series Jack. Can't find it anywhere. I can find the movies (they're great too!), but I can't find the cartoons. I'm using my kids as an excuse but they're really for me
  9. Jack, I would've started the thread myself, but out of deference to our movie moderator I thought I'd let him have the decision making authority
  10. Nigel looking at the backstage food (Olive with no Pimento): "Look who's in here? Nobody! How do they expect me to work like this? But I'm a professional, I'll rise above it!"
  11. Another classic: Marty DeBergi: "The review for "Shark Sandwich" is simply a two word review: S*&t Sandwich." Nigel: "That's not real is it?"
  12. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Aug 31 2004, 04:33 PM) I just bought this on DVD.. I haven't watched any of the extras yet... Can't wait. "... NO, don't even look at it..." 11 Earthshine, the audio commentary by "David" and "Nigel" is funny too. Give it a try!
  13. Sorry to be so late to the party, but I had to work ! An all time classic: "My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo, I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo!"
  14. To live between a rock And a hard place In between time- Cruising in prime time- Soaking up the cathode rays To live between the wars In our time- Living in real time- Between The Wheels?

  20. QUOTE (Tide Pools @ Aug 28 2004, 09:46 PM) QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 27 2004, 04:31 PM) QUOTE (SCREAM @ Aug 27 2004, 10:18 AM) QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 27 2004, 09:33 AM) You can learn a lot from us old folks. Like what a vinyl record looks like, and sounds like. (Snap, crackle, pop is the sound they make.) And the proper technique on judging whether a LP skip will require a nickel...dime..or quarter atop the stylus to get it through that part. I remember that! classic!!! It is a fine art only us old farts know!
  21. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Aug 28 2004, 11:57 AM) "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberry..........Arthur King and your silly English knnnnnnnnnnnigets" Now you've done it! I've gotta go watch it again!
  22. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 28 2004, 09:15 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Aug 28 2004, 07:11 PM) I suck so unbelievably bad at this game If that's your guess, the answer is no. The movie is NOT "I suck so unbelievably bad at this game " but thanks for playing.
  23. Bardan, welcome brother!
  24. To me, this is a "good" album, not great. I think all the songs are decent but none are Rush "classics"
