  1. FOX just played Limelight going into commercial break after the Packers' first touchdown.
  2. Jeff Haden posted an article on Inc telling the story of the time he met Neil in West Virginia. https://www.inc.com/jeff-haden/neil-peart-was-an-exceptional-drummer-but-his-legacy-could-be-summed-up-in-4-words.html?fbclid=IwAR2ZoRgz_VejOmBHJm1h1L0cFY36ZKnszjkvm_ez3K9rT2cSpXuK3K4fm5U The best line, the absolute distillation of Neil's philosophy comes when he offers Jeff some advice: "Never follow anyone," he said. "Be your own hero." Be your own hero. I am so struck by the power in just these four words. They keep coming into my head. A mantra we should all live by. Now that the initial shock has worn off I have become overwhelmed by feeling for how this must have struck Neil. Someone who lived life so fully, so vibrantly - "riding and driving and living so close to the edge" - simultaneously had his mental and physical abilities cut from under him. How crushing that must have been to a man who woke up every morning wondering what was the most awesome thing his could do that day. And it's a cosmically cruel twist of bad luck (I won't say fate) that the lyrics he wrote for "Losing It", the song he played on the last tour, would apply to him a scant year after retirement. Thank you Neil for all you have given me and so many others. You will be missed but not forgotten.
  3. It doesn't sound like Neil found out about it until about a year after they stopped touring so I wouldn't beat myself up over it.
  4. All they did was post a 20 second spot going into commercial featuring a couple of pictures while playing the end of Limelight. They gave a two minute tribute to Buck Henry.
  5. The two instrumentals that’ll be on there DID make the cut. They’re instrumental versions of My Favourite Headache and Home on the Strange *yawn* I'll pass.

    Hell Yeah Meme

This has probably been posted before but apparently the skeleton from the Roll the Bones video is a meme. https://knowyourmeme...75344-skeletons

  8. Shocked no one has posted this yet. The dude pretty much nails it. https://www.planetrock.com/news/rock-news/man-air-drumming-to-rushs-tom-sawyer-becomes-internet-sensation/
  9. Same here. Been on a Beatles kick lately, probably go back to Rush after that.
  10. Sorry...Maine hasn't discovered the internet yet. I would say the same thing to Ford as I would to Neil. Religion bashing is fine. But if you want to be taken seriously, don't suck at it. They both do... From a religious perspective, is there ANY religion bashing that would be considered good, especially that which is directed to the religion one is a part of? I bet if I was bashing Scientology, you'd cheer me on (by the way, it's all the same from a bashing perspective, just with different names). Fine, just leave Flying Spaghetti Monsterism out of it. I have been touched by his noodly appendage. Ramen. Is there anyone, anywhere who thinks the whole FSM thing isn't completely played out at this point? No.

  13. Supertramp immediately comes to mind as another band that could complete that statement.

    432Hz

That's because the whole 432Hz thing is a bunch of metaphysical BS. Yes, I fail to see how lowering the pitch of a song by 8Hz makes any meaningful difference.
  15. Jesus H. Christ, Get a grip. No one here called him ugly, or even implied it. Sickly and unhealthy, yes. And yes, even in black and white his nose is a heck of a lot darker than it was just a few years ago. It's a form of rosacea called rhinophyma, and while it's not caused from drinking, drinking can certainly exacerbate the condition. So the drinking in retirement thing has been implied. Looking ugly though? No, sorry, you're wrong. And our opinions on how he looks have absolutely nothing to do with any degree of fandom. And for Christ's sake it's you're not your, and their not there. Attacking someone for trying to do their part for peace on this board? Real classy. Where exactly in that post was she attacking anyone? when u say get a grip ur pretty much attacking the other party so I seriously don't know what kind of world you live in where telling someone to 'get a grip' is an attack. Because in my world it's usually used as a response to things getting too hysterical. But whatever, think what you will. No skin off my nose. When I say to get a grip it usally costs me an extra $50 at the massage parlor. Rub 'n Tiz'zug
  16. As are we all. No one is getting out of here alive.
  17. And those are two of my favorites from the album.
  18. According to this article the book will only go up to 1972: https://www.packinghousecreative.com/blog/2017/10/31/a-visit-from-geddy-lee "It's called Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book Of Bass, and will be published next year. His co-author on the project is Daniel Richler. They are putting together a story about how the electric bass was developed, in the time period up to 1972."
  19. Surprised no one has mentioned Xanaconductor yet.
  20. "I will choose the path that's clear, I will choose free will." It was my high school yearbook quote (1987).
  21. And if they form a corporation it would be Lee, Lifeson & Copeland, LLC. Or "LLC, LLC" for short.
  22. Screw that. They should get a younger unknown drummer who will bring a youthful energy to the project. Some new blood with serious chops would no doubt help Geddy and Alex to keep their game sharp. They should watch the Rush cover bands on YouTube and offer the best one a job. The only problem is Alex and Geddy will have to start writing lyrics. The lyrics in MFH weren't THAT bad...
