  1. Wow, I am digging Illumination Theory, but damn is this song all over the place...but not the best of DT epics. Overall I liked the album... It's roughly at about where ADTOE was after the first listen at about a 7.... Hopefully the score will grow as I let the record sink in as ADTOE did.
  2. It's been out for a couple of months now, but has anyone checked out "Dimensionaut" by this new band fronted by the Simon Collins, son of Phil Collins. If you haven't I recommend you check them out.
  3. Didn't really leave, I lurk still quite a bit, but I made the switch to the Texans since I moved back to Texas a few years ago
  4. Gonna try and remember to pick this one up tomorrow... really behind on new releases. From this year I still need the new Big Big Train, Mike Portnoy's Winery Dogs CD, the new Haken album, Anathema's "Universal" live record, and the new Queensryche (La Torre) album
  5. From the 3 (OLV, Earthshine, and Ghost Rider) I checked out from the RS feed, on my computer speakers It's a night and frickin day difference... WOW... cant wait to pick up the full thing.
  6. What's up with cruises all of a sudden? There's this as well... http://www.prog-sphere.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Cruise-to-the-Edge-2014-poster.jpg
  7. Beats the hell out of "On the Backs of Angels" IMO... as far as leadoff tracks go.
  8. Looking forward to this record... It'll be a good year for DT with this and the Luna Park Blu-Ray
  9. Any actual evidence beyond conjecture to support this at all? I'm awaiting the Live at Luna Park Blu-Ray as well, but why point at Portnoy for no reason other than "just cause" on why we have not heard anything on the release since it's announcement?
  10. In the Middle of a re-read of Book 5 in "A Song of Ice and Fire", or the Game of Thrones series to the show viewers, "A Dance with Dragons" when I came across this passage..... (very minor spoilers from the book, without context that this quote is from it wont ruin anything for you... pretty safe for you show only people) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . http://i.imgur.com/pOuQAS8l.jpg Remind you of anything....? Not that they are actually related, and most likely are both inspired from the same real life events, that Neil Mentions when talking about "The Wreckers", but I came across this today and though... "Oh, that's cool" Didn't catch in on my first read, as Clockwork Angels was not out yet.
  11. Love the album, still sounds great... odd for an Opeth record though... This is what I was expecting with Storm Corrosion.
  12. Great show, there were several guitar problems that Alex had... But opening night, whatyougonnado... Had a great time
  13. That ending was perfect.. Spot on as it was in Storm of Swords..
  14. Just read that one of the most iconic artists for album artwork of all time has died.. Noteworthy for most of the album artwork to Pink Floyd's studio and live discography. He will be missed. This will always be my favorite of his.. http://www.alancross.ca/storage/Pink%20Floyd%20-%20Animals.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1336954648255
  15. Im digging the track, and will say I was not expecting Ozzy sounding this good.
  16. Good qustion. No, Pete Best was not inducted with The Beatles. Was Syd Barrett included in Floyd's induction?
  17. Not an Opeth album, but I dug the Storm Corrosion record Mikael did with Steven Wilson... Very far away from Opeth sylistically, being VERY mellow. But a good record to listen to with headphones in a dark room.
  18. No Geoff Tate's Ryche for me... .... And it was roshambo, not a gut punching contest... I almost lost because I was aiming at a vastly smaller target.
