  1. The Album was amazing... Standouts for me were "Routine", "3 Years Older", Regret #9" and "Ancestral"

    Owl good to see you!

  2. Loving the previews of this - albeit they are very different and more "poppy" than "proggy" lol

this one is more electronic/trance-y - remember it is just part of the larger concept album. Recall from the studio preview interviews, that there are 3 longer prog-inspired pieces.

this is a more infectious pop-infused one:

I liked the title track alot.... It's got some tones of Blackfield in it as well

  3. Last two episodes were great. Too bad we gotta wait another year for it...and how come we only get 10 episodes? That's bullshit.

TV series' get shorter and shorter all the time. What happened to having 22 episodes per season? I agree it sucks.

Game of Thrones still has a better track record than the "we'll make episodes when we feel like it" approach of Doctor Who. Only 16 episodes since December 2011.

  4. I just can't forgive Jaime for what he did in the first episode of the series. I know a lot of people who are coming around on him, and I can certainly tell that he's grown as a character, but I can't forget that incestuous prick who treated everyone like shit and coldbloodedly shoved a little boy out of a tower.

If Jaime Lannister truly has changed in character, then you would not be punishing the Jaime Lannister who pushed that little boy out of the tower. That Jaime Lannister no longer exists. You would instead be "punishing" a being who would not do such a thing.

Well after last episode, I've lost a bit of my sympathy for him

That scene was inappropriate and un called for.. It was not rape in the book, entirely consensual.. Still messed up having incest sex next to the corpse of your dead incest son, but Jaime did not rape Cersei in ASOS.... I don't know why that decision was made.

maybe because fans of the show were warming up to him?

    hypothetical questions following:

Granted, it seemed downright malicious and evil of Jaime to rape Circe (or however they spell her name in this series, gah) right by the dead body of her child.

Granted, that child was a monster, and Circe is not much better . . .

How many of you would have thought it would be justified in a way if instead of raping her Jaime had pulled out his sword and run her through with it, slaying her on the spot right by Joffrey's corpse, while saying "you are so hateful, why was I cursed to be in love with such a hateful bitch, you deserve to die, evil bitch!"

Would he have been justified in doing that? Would you think it would have been cool of him to do that?

The show has not been kind at all to Jaime's character development.... The books are written from the perspective of several different characters, each chapter you are getting part of the story from a different character's point of view, experience what that character is feeling, and get their inner monologue... In book 3 Jaime becomes a POV character... And you discover that beneath the sister-banging, cocky asshole you have been seeing from other character's perspective is a person who does care what others think of him... who hates being called "Kingslayer" (rightly so, because people mis-understand his true motivations about breaking his oaths). And is a person who is trying to atone for his past wrongs, and is falling out of his enamor with his sister... The show has barely any of this hinted with Jaime's character....

There have been two moments in this series that have been so far out of line with Jaime's character it is infuriating... the moment in this past episode, and the moment in season 2 where he murdered his cousin in an escape attempt.. JAIME WOULD NOT DO THAT!!! Kinslaying in this world is looked at as bad as kingslaying, or killing guests who have shared food under your roof.. Jaime who is trying to clean his sullied name would not have even thought of it.. Writers of the show, QUIT f***ing UP THIS CHARACTER!!!!

  6. No Spoilers for the show/books, but George R. R. Martin released a preview of the "World of Ice and Fire" world book that is coming out in October... It is about Aegon The Conqueror... a bit of (waaaaay, about 300 years) pre-book/show lore..

    http://www.georgerrm...nd-fire-sample/

Although it's cool that he's written more backstory (the man does love his lore and history!), I wish he'd JUST FINISH THE DARNED SERIES! My fear is that he will die without finishing it. Ack!

The more pressing concern is that the TV show will catch up and move past the books... I've read all the books and would hate for that to happen, but there's people who have been reading since the first book came out in 1996... It would be terrible to have been following the series for 20 years only to have a TV adaptation finish the story before the novels.

  7. Who are your favorite characters?

At this point, I guess my list includes Tyrion and Bron . . .maybe Arya as well.

Agreed on all. Ayra and the Hound are a really likable duo at this point. And I've liked Tyrion all along. I also can't wait to see what Daenerys amounts to when she finally meets Westeros face to face.

I like Jaime Lannister and the Hound much more now than as they were portrayed earlier in the series, and Daenarys less.

I just can't forgive Jaime for what he did in the first episode of the series. I have to disagree about Jaime... Yes he pushed a child out of the Window, and I'm not defending that.... but what if he didn't?? What if Bran told someone what he saw. All of a sudden you would have him, his sister, Joffrey, Tommen, Myrcella, all would be executed by Robert. What would have been the repercussions of that? Would Tywin Lannister have just been okay with the execution of his Son (whom he still wishes as his heir), daughter, and grandchildren? Regardless of the charges against Cersei and Jaime, I don't Tywin would just stand aside, he would react and the realm would bleed for it...

As much as it sucks to say it, the reality was that pushing Bran out the window was the lesser of two evils.. at least in his mind... Rant over (I've been spending too much time in the game of thrones, and a song of ice and fire subreddits)

Everything you need to know. ;)

The Fool definitely seems to be involved somehow, but . . . .

I watched this episode again last night, paying close attention to where Joffrey's cup was.

After the Cake comes out, Joffrey hands his cup to Margery, who then walks over and places it down directly in front of her mother, where it sits till Tyrion later picks it up.

So, I think the Tyrells did it!

Lady Olenna is Margery's grandmother, and mother to Mace Tyrell lord of Highgarden... anyhoo this imgur album is pretty good at detailing how it could have happened.

    http://imgur.com/a/2DtPH

I will also note that the sequence of events is also very similar in "A Storm of Swords", Sansa is wearing a hairnet with small little black crystals instead of a necklace, but that doesnt matter that much... but in the books the Queen of Thorns comes over to Sansa and has a similar conversation... during which she adjusts the hairnet for her.

Ack, that link needs a serious Spoiler alert.

Shit, sorry if I spoiled anything... the point was that something very similar happens in the books, the same evidence book readers had... Lady Olenna took same of the very same movements in the episode that she did in the book.. To be fair, even to book readers it hasn't been confirmed that this is what happened to Joff... just heavily implied, by once again examining The Queen of Thorns actions during the wedding..

  11. So apparently alot of the comic fans are freaking out on the internet about the arrival of the people at the end of the last episode..... without going into spoilers, why are the comic fans freaking about the new people?
  12. Reading through this thread and good god how my opinion has changed since 2008... BTBAM is amazing... Got a chance to see them with Coheed last spring and was blown away... I cannot wait for them to get back in the studio...
