  1. Just saw the results...looks like 4 out of my 5 chosen songs are in the Top 10 overall currently. Looks like everyone knows what I know!
  2. Emotion Detector Open Secrets Chain Lightning Neurotica Cut To The Chase Sounds great to me.
  3. Get yourself a crapload of expendable cash...and some luck. I got really lucky (on Ticketmaster)...finally getting a chance at Front Row on the CA Tour back in 2012. It was an awesome experience, no doubt...but I'm not sure I could afford it again this time around. Good Luck to you!
  4. I've likely watched them all at least once the whole way through. I'll put them in from time-to-time...but usually I just watch the song performances that I feel like at that time...
  5. Why? I just think that it's too far out of Geddy's vocal range. I was listening to a version of it on a Roll The Bones bootleg and it sounded like he was straining. I don't think so personally. They played it on R30...and it sounded fantastic from what I remember! :haz:
  6. CUT TO THE CHASE Unlike other great songs they should play, this one does not carry the excuse of "Geddy can't sing it anymore". It is a kick-ass song, it sounds like a "live" song...and I still cannot believe it has never been played live. Plus, I've seen it pop up a lot on many people's short lists of songs they would like to see...it simply makes too much sense. Please Boys...make it happen on the next tour!
  7. I'm indifferent to Jack Black really...but he's a fan of the band, so it's hard to dislike the guy. On a different note, one of my personal favourite "artist quotes" (although short), was when Gene Simmons did the "yeah, oh, yeah" from the beginning of Finding My Way. I found it pretty funny, and cool that he acknowledged from that moment, they wanted Rush to open for them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpPx9986kCw
  8. ^Nice. Funny how putting a picture of red car automatically makes one think "Red Barchetta", while completely disregarding the rest of the clues. LOL
  9. Early yesterday, the official AC/DC Facebook page had put out the following statement: "We've only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year." Now...who knows if this is true or just a PR move to put out any early fires. Time will tell, I suppose...
  10. Probably not. The sound quality is probably the same, but you might get it with a more modern sound. Perhaps a bucket load of loudness thrown into it. I'm gonna stick with the originals, to me that's the way it's always supposed to sound like. I think the same as well. To be honest, I'm always torn with these "reissues / remasters". Sometimes, they do add a nice clarity to songs, but in other instances, they ruin them in my opinion. I'll post an example here, since this one comes to mind for me every time. KISS released a remastered compilation album a few years back called "Gold". Now, their song "Love Gun" has one of my favourite guitar solos from Ace. To me, it is completely ruined on the "Gold" version...as Paul Stanley's repetitive "Love Gun" line is too much in the front that it actually drowns out the solo for the most part. Here are the two examples (original and remastered). The solo starts around 2:25 and on. Original (from 'Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits'): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X133gJSYHXs Remastered (from 'KISS Gold'): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GHmWZ-58yE
  11. ^Thanks! That was a cool read.
  12. One thing I always found interesting was that John seemed to always be the one introducing the band and songs, as opposed to Geddy. I wonder why that was...as it's not something you see often (drummer doing the mic work over the lead singer). It almost seems like he was the head of the band in those days...
  13. This forum wouldn't exist. The band likely wouldn't have lasted 40 years. Basically...Rush wouldn't be Rush. It's tough to say for sure...but I'm pretty positive that Neil is the better drummer. To top it off...I believe it was Neil's lyrics that really helped shape the band into what they would become. No disrespect at all to Rutsey...but Ged and Alex cashed in on Neil. I don't know how exactly the final decision came to move away from John, but it was the right decision for Geddy, Alex, and all of us.

  15. Whoever said my Photoshopping sucks needs to apologize to me right now. :sarcastic: Hey...what is meant by that?? For threads like this...I wouldn't be looking for perfection. I stand by my work! :fuckinputer: Okay, okay, but don't expect me to try too hard when I get back. :P Oh, believe me...I won't! I enjoy any attempt...in fact, at this point...I'd appreciate anyone playing along! LOL

  17. Yeah...that's cool. I had no idea. Definitely a good idea for a game! The only subtle difference, I suppose...is that I wasn't really thinking of this as a "guessing game" type of thread...just more of a way to incorporate some funny images using Rush songs. In the past...I've seen some hilarious posts and pictures pop up.
  18. Doh! You'll have to excuse me though...I was away a bit too long!!

  21. Maybe this thread will be a hit or an epic miss...but so be it! After re-living some old posts from a few years back...around the time CA was released, I found some random pictures and thought this might be fun...or at least somewhat humorous. Post Rush songs in IMAGE form...(give it a 'single' 'album cover', if you will). I'll post a few old ones to start...
  22. :o One is enough. LOL...I agree, and I'm a big fan of S&A!
