  1. Damn I hope this is right. I'll take a record over tour at this point. Would be awesome...but I don't believe it for a second. In this day and age...there is no way that them recording a new album would be kept a secret up to this point. There has been zero talk of a new album, and or recording. Not even plans of it. So...I'm confident it ain't happening.
  2. There is nothing wrong with how he feels. As a family man, I couldn't imagine being away from my family for long periods of time...especially my little daughter. I'm sure people will say the usual "suck it up...you chose to be a musician...it comes with the lifestyle"...and he has. He's just being honest about how he feels, and regardless of being a musician, it doesn't make it any easier when you leave your family behind.
  3. :goodone: 100% Agreed. These are the first two that popped in my head. The extension on the end of Bravado might just be my favourite thing they add to their live shows. I often miss it whenever I listen to the studio version. I've also always been a huge fan of Dreamline...and specifically the solo. But I always found it a bit short for my taste on RTB...so extending it during the live versions certainly makes me happy.
  4. I agree with your disdain for them...but I wanted to point out, if I'm not mistaken...KISS was nominated to go in 2 years before they actually made it in. The year in-between, they weren't on the ballot. I know...makes no sense whatsoever, but I'm thinking this could be the same situation...only worse because they'll probably get even less respect.
  5. ^THIS. Originally, I was rooting for them to no-show the event. However, I was proud to see them get that extended standing ovation that they so richly deserved.
  6. That video is incredible...(I can't believe it's the first time I'm getting around to seeing this)! As awesome as the response from the entire crowd was...they know the love their fans have for them. What I find incredibly cool from the video was seeing guys like Dave Grohl, Chad Smith, and Tom Morello going crazy and the elation and genuine happiness on their faces! That must be an incredible feeling to see the passion and love that their own peers have for their work. Just awesome. :haz:
  7. Agreed. A fantastic song...I've always loved it. Here's hoping they bring it on tour sometime soon!
  8. 10 years later...and I still say: Heart Full of Soul Awesome cover.
  9. There are many for sure...it's one thing they do very well in their songs. The Fountain of Lamneth 2112 Xanadu La Villa Strangiato Red Barchetta YYZ The Analog Kid Losing It Afterimage Red Sector A Marathon (specifically the bridge/solo section) Mystic Rhythms Animate (specifically the bridge "my counterpart...") Armor & Sword The Wreckers (specifically the cinematic bridge section "the breakers roar...") The Garden There are definitely many more...but these were the ones that came to me now.
  10. For sure...that's been my thinking all along. I can wait. Either the box will eventually be cheaper...or they will eventually do like they did with Replay x3 and release the discs separately. If they do...I'll be first in line to get the TFE/Bonus disc! :madra:
  11. I don't know... I mean, on the surface, Ghost Rider appears to be the most personal song on Vapor Trails, and they performed it on that very tour (the first one after the tragedies). I would think that by this point...there are no songs that they couldn't realistically play (in regards to personal emotions).
  12. ^Correct. ...and I'm glad you brought up R30. That one was already re-released once before. I have both copies...and if I were to purchase the R40 box...I'd now have bought it 3 times over. It just doesn't make much sense, to be honest...and it's disappointing that I likely won't get my hands on the bonus material, because I'd love to.
  13. One song that is really standing out as missing is FREEWILL. To me, this would easily take the place of Time Stand Still on that list.
  14. Cool Read. Obviously...most are many of their "singles". But I was really happy to see both Xanadu and La Villa Strangiato acknowledged because in my opinion, they are definitely amongst the best of the best...likely both Top 5 songs for me.
  15. All 5 of these in a setlist would be unreal. I'd love them all!
  16. I don't think so. I understand what you're saying...but I think it's well documented that Neil is by far the least interested in touring. He has stated that he "accepts" it as "part of the job"...but he has been talking about quitting touring since around the time of Hold Your Fire, I believe. Now, you couple that in with the fact that he has a very young child at home, and you can understand why he might be even more hesitant to want to leave again. At their ages, I don't doubt that touring is difficult. Plus, when they go, they go all out. Big tours, Videos, 3-hour shows playing their crazy material. It's a tough gig, and we should be thankful they even choose to do it any more.
  17. Exactly. As much as I love watching them live...I would love to see them for-go the tour to get back in the studio in 2015. Like you said...with the guys having motivation, it is imperative that they 'strike while the iron is hot'. Plus, I remember Geddy saying before that he was never a big fan of touring without new material (which was the main reason for Feedback on R30, and Caravan/BU2B on TM). This is the perfect opportunity. At the very least, I would love for them to do like CA, and maybe record a few tracks before heading on tour. That would be nice.
  18. I would take new music over a tour anyday...but even if they did like last time and recorded a few new songs before heading on tour, that would be fantastic!
  19. This line made my day... "But I'm itching to just play and record. I would like to make another album, but I don't know where the other guys' heads are at about that. I know Alex is ready to write." :D
  20. Tom Sawyer - Haven't heard that in a while, always like when they surprise us and throw that one in
  21. LOL...well, I didn't vote for it...but I would be interested to see how it comes across live.
  22. I'm going to have to assume this is a joke! Why? :sarcastic: I don't understand this mentality. If you don't like the song, no one else is supposed to? I despise Neurotica. Did I make a remark to those here who chose it? No. To each his own. I don't even consider BU2B2 a song... it's more of a reprise or interlude.... Exactly...this was my point all along. It isn't really a "song"...so it's extremely hard to picture this being well-received in a concert setlist.

Did I make a remark to those here who chose it? No. To each his own. LOL...I think you're taking my emoticons a slight bit too seriously. It's cool that you actually enjoy that song...and yes, I'm a huge Neurotica fan! My comment is more because even if one truly loves that 1-minute piece, I don't see how it could come off as enjoyable in a concert setting. It barely fits on the actual record...I just don't personally see it as a song...it's basically a bridge/intelude of sorts. Anyways...forgive my previous emoticons!!
