  1. I have never attempted to upgrade tickets before. I was wondering if they charge you the difference in ticket price or how that works. Thanks
  2. Honesty, and opinions should be welcomed here, after all it is a forum. These things are to be expected. But to come on here and write a lengthy and wordy essay about a bad experience that you may have had in plain view of some of the bands biggest fans is bound to be met with harsh reactions. I understand that some fans aren't going to like the set list no matter what they play, that is a mathematical certainty. But the problems with the ticket upgrades etc. is the venue's problem in my eyes, it has little or nothing to do with the band. I have been to 13 Rush shows and have not always liked the set lists completely. My first tour was Counterparts in 1994 and have seen them at least once on every tour since. My favorite set lists have been Test For Echo, and the R30 Tours. I'm sure not everyone would agree with that, but that's fine. The set list on this tour may be even better than those. I know what the set list is for this tour but I have to see the show for myself before forming an opinion. I will find out in Chicago on Saturday night. I do know that I will be in good company with family, friends and fellow Rush fans. As far as my opinions go, if mine is negative (which I doubt) I will not openly complain and bash the band. I probably wouldn't say anything at all because I know it won't sit well with most on the forum, but if I did post something negative, I would probably say I didn't enjoy the show for whatever reason but at the same time still be glad that I had the opportunity to see the band. Simple, direct and to the point without offending those who did enjoy the show. No hard feelings or offense to anyone. Just putting my opinion out there -JRS-
  3. This song crossed my mind a while back as a possibility on this tour. I think there's more than a good chance they will play it and dedicate it to Andrew McNaughton. Just a thought...
  4. I think my wife has the hots for Alex.......LOL
  5. QUOTE (L. Wince @ Apr 14 2011, 06:24 AM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 13 2011, 01:11 PM) Great to hear , I took my 8 year old to his first Rush Concert as well! 6. Sorry for posting this twice, It said it failed the first time but I guess it didn't
  7. Just got home from the United Center in Chicago. We took my 8 year old daughter and it was a complete success. My best friend surprised us with a custom t-shirt he had made for her to celebrate the event. It was a pink shirt with "I'm Attending my first concert...." on the front. And on the back it says "What a United Center Chicago April, 12 2011. We got so many compliments on the shirt and even had complete strangers coming up to us and taking her picture. It was truly a magical evening, everyone who sat around us were so respectful and polite to her. We won't ever forget this night as long as we live. -JRS-

  9. MSG has absolutely nothing about Rush on their website. But they have Yanni on April 9th. What is that all about? They sell out MSG and no mention of them. More disrespect in my book.

  11. I was watching Piers Morgan Tonight with Rod Stewart as a guest. They showed a picture of Rods kids and one of them had a Rash hat on. Cool
  12. Was just wondering what your thoughts were concerning the opening/intermission videos. Will they be the same, or will they change them up like they did with the 2007/08 intermission video on the Snakes tour? I was looking on the Backstage Club website at the Time Machine shirts and several of them have 2010 on the back. I wonder if they will just change it to 2011 or if they will have different ones to choose from. Just something I been thinking about.... -JRS-
  13. I think the Chicago show may be close to sold out, I'm not sure though. We needed 3 tickets together and we had a hell of a time finding seats that weren't in the very back of the UC. So you may have a hard time finding something decent. Good Luck to ya.
  14. QUOTE (anitarush @ Feb 1 2011, 08:12 AM) Hi, I'm new here--but let me give you my take on it. My own daughter is 8 and Cleveland will be her 8th Rush show. Her first was at Red Rocks, at age 4, at her very strong insistence. She even had a friend make her a sign that says "Maddy loves Geddy. Maddy is 4." Over the years, we've changed the sign to reflect her age. She is still crazy about the band. That said, she also listens to Taylor Swift and Hannah Montana. Leaving the Chicago show last summer, she told me "I like HM, but Rush is the real deal." If your daughter likes their music, she will probably love the show. As for the people around you, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. These are RUSH fans! The greatest people in the world! They usually aren't there to get wasted, they are there for the music. Earplugs are a very good idea, too. We bring them every time. My daughter likes Hannah and Taylor also but likes to listen to Rush as well. I was at the two Chicago shows last summer also.
  15. I really think she will dig the show. She likes to stay up late and hang with dad. With the music and the excitement, I think she will do fine. I have taken her to hockey games, and receptions where there was music to dance to and she didn't want to leave even when it was well after her bed time. As far as the drunks are concerned, I plan to have a talk with her about what she may see in the way of poor behavior and she is to ignore it and enjoy the music. There will be another adult with me so between the two of us we should get along just fine. JRS
  16. Thank you for all your input. It was pretty much what I expected. I think the length of the show is going to be the biggest concern along with the bathroom breaks. She always goes to the bathroom allot. JRS
  17. QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Jan 26 2011, 10:08 PM) I will say one thing she does have a good father, I wish my dad would have taken me to a Rush concert when I was 8 Why thank you, I try to do what I can for her. I miss out on allot because I am on the road all the time, so I tend to spoil her when I do see her. JRS
  18. I have been to 12 Rush shows myself, so I know what to expect in that regard. I just am kind of torn whether or not it's appropriate for an 8 year old girl. JRS
  19. I have decided to take my daughter to her first concert. She will have just turned 8 yrs. old at the time of the show (April 12 in Chicago). I think it will work out fine, but I do have concerns. I have asked friends, and family and have had mixed reactions. Some have said they think it's fine, and some said it wouldn't be a good idea. Some opinions from you guys would be great. I am sure some of you have taken you own children to Rush shows. Thanks... JRS
  20. If mystic rhythms is in 4/4 time (which I think it is) it would be on beat 4 of the 2nd measure and beat 4 of the 4th measure and so on if that helps. On Red Sector A it's right after the words "A wound that will not heal, a heart that cannot feel" Hope that helps -JRS-
  21. I'm a drummer so I notice that stuff. The drummers on here may be able to help me pin this one down. It is a little tough to describe but Neil uses this sound on various songs. The ones that come to mind at this late hour are Mystic Rhythms, Red Sector A, and The Enemy Within. It's kind of a cracking/popping sound he triggers with his KAT Pedal. If I had to attempt to spell the sound it would go something like "cah" (my apologies for that absurd attempt at spelling a word that doesn't exist). I'm sorry I can't really describe it any better than that. It sounds like a cross between a wood block and clap sound hit at the same time. I have inquired about this before and I was told it was a "clap trap" that Neil had years ago dating back to the Simmons pad days. He still uses this sound today on the newer Roland V-Drums. I'm guessing the sound was sampled from the old clap trap. I have tried going through all the sounds on my Rolands and can't come up with anything close to it except an abbreviated clap sound. Any input would be great.
  22. I think it would be cool if they did a whole "Back To The Future" theme. Complete with an opening film featuring Alex playing the guitar hooked up to the huge amp and blowing it up and Christopher Lloyd calling him and telling him he is late for the show. Just like the movie when Marty found out he was late for school. I thought that would be a cool idea to go along with the whole "Time Machine" thing. As far as Neil's kit goes, I think the guy that mentioned the Moving Pictures themed kit is probably right on.

QUOTE (rushbass @ Sep 29 2008, 02:51 AM) If you are trying to download a torrent, you need a torrent client... uTorrent is the best, and is freeware... download uTorrent here: http://www.utorrent.com/ You will also need another freeware program to convert the SHN and FLAC files to WAV, so you can listen to them / burn them to CD... get it here: http://tlh.easytree.org/ Hope this helps. Do those programs work for video files also?
