My first Rush concert. First rock concert ever!!! 12 years old, El Paso Civic Center ... 2112 .... Having the opportunity to pay tribute to Rush with two Albums: "Exit Stage Right, The String Quartet Tribute o Rush" & "Strung Out On 2112, The String Quartet Tribute To Rush, Volume Two".
  1. QUOTE (Fuz @ Oct 21 2004, 01:05 AM) Sorry, i didn't want to offend or criticize you too much... :/ Anyway, that's only my humble personal opinion, and I obviously can be wrong No.... no offense taken. I was actually surprised of the success of ESR; that as many people that love Rush can appreciate their music without drums. It's actually very hard for me, being a guy who use to perform Rush covers with a rock band, to digest their music without the brilliant percussive arrangements that makes up (at least) a third of their music.
  2. QUOTE (Fuz @ Oct 20 2004, 05:55 PM) Listened. Same quality as ESR, is not bad but I find it a little too... "empty". Man ... you're killin' me..... LoL .... ... I thought it was a little bit better... ...But, when they're new and fresh ....they always seem a little bit better... I'll need to get away from it for while then listen to it again like a listener instead of an arranger...
  3. QUOTE (Fuz @ Oct 19 2004, 06:15 PM) I bought from amazon "Exit Stage Right, The String Quartet Tribute To Rush" but i don't like it, sorry to tell. I find it boring, it lacks "power". That's obviously IMHO. Did you dislike the preview of my new work, also?
  4. QUOTE (Neil Bird @ Oct 16 2004, 03:58 PM) QUOTE (tmrpro @ Oct 16 2004, 02:58 PM)I just wanted to stop by and give everyone here at this Rush board an opportunity to listen to my latest Tribute LP to Rush: "Strung Out On 2112, The String Quartet Tribute To Rush Volume 2". You may have heard of my first CD; "Exit Stage Right, The String Quartet Tribute To Rush". Here's a 6 minute preview: http://tmrpro.com/strings/2112/scope.mp3 If you would like to listen to the album in its entirety, you can do so by joining the String Tribute Forum here: http://tmrpro.com/phpBB2 Please come listen to the whole album and let me know what you think at my board. Thanks for letting me share this with you guys!!! Great music, fine quality too! Very nice to listen to. Would be nice to hear 2112 with a symphonic orchestra, don't you think. Like Deep Purple, Metallica and so on did. Well, I will say that this project had to have a LOT MORE instruments than the title accounts for to give it the kind of strength that Rush's music has... & still it falls a little weak because there is not any interpretation of Neil's percussive phenominality (is that a word....LoL) .... ....Well, All I can say is that I made it as fat as it could possibly be made by a room full of acoustic string players and I hope that it meet or exceeds all of everyone's expectations... Thanks again for your support!!!
