  1. I've had many of both, and now I just have a simple digitech 360xp that is great. I have headphone patches for practice, and effects only patches for the effects loop playing live. I use the expression pedal as a volume pedal. I think the tc chorus on that unit is a great sim of the original.
  2. Sorry to put this here but I'm looking to give these away to someone who would actually use them. The tickets are at willcall so they can't be sold (or else I would have listed them on stubhub etc). I got them in the LiveNation class action. :/

So, who wants 3 free tickets? Just DM your full name and I'll have the name changed at willcall. You have to be there in person to claim the tickets an hour before the show.

PNC is in holmdel NJ. The person with the best story of wanting to go gets them. I know Bryan Adams is meh, but someone here might like them.

    Enjoy rushies.

  3. Gilmour has huge ham hands, you have to pull off those double bends and slow vibrato to nail his solos.

I think the 2nd solo is the delicate sound of thunder live version.

Tina S other vids are still fun to watch...I don't know how she does it with those tiny pointy fingers...pretty amazing.

  4. Cool pics, thanks for sharing those...and a nice story.

What is that your playing in the vid, a Kramer? Sounds very much like the Signature in the SOH vid.

I'm trying to guess the year by all the mullets in the vid...so I'll go with 1991? :)

  5. I'm in if you could guarantee that I'd be golfing with one Mr. Lerxst.

They never tell you until that morning who you get with these things.

I'm guessing 3 courses 18 holes on the 1/54 estimate since I counted 47 celebs (unless they stack the shotgun with 2 per tee...so it could be as low as 1/47 odds). Either way, call it a 2% chance you get Big Al.

  6. I would do this if I had a foursome to join...my handicap is the same as Big Al's so it would be fun to try and beat him. :)

Of course you have to pay about $1k and only have what looks like a 1/54 chance of playing with Al, but some of the other celebs would be cool too...Lindros, Graves, lots of hockey guys it seems...but it's all for charity anyway. Probably a fun day for some lucky group.

Alex Lifeson is one of the many Canadian celebrities that will be participating in the Smilezone Foundation's second annual charity golf tournament at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club next month on Monday, July 14th. http://www.smilezone.com/

  7. That's the 2nd pic on here of him playing his elite strat....the other is around somewhere.

They are good strats, fairly rare...they sell for 900-1200 on eBay.

Some came with a factory Kahler...they eventually morfed into the E series of the 80s that were make in JPN and the US, and eventually the Contemporary and HM strats. The elites are just before Fender Trem System (which was a Floyd or very Floyd like but looked more like a Kahler....I forget the exact name of that Trem...system something...parts are hard to find for it now).

The E series in general are in fairly high demand...I have an 80s USA E series somewhere around here. :P

  8. I'd love to trade in a few amps for a V or a Lonestar....or a Heartbeaker.

Too painful to sell/ship heavy tube amps via ebay, and Craigslist sucks now...and of course GC trade in prices blow....so I sit...

    Any ideas for me??

Sheesh, and here I sit with a Lonestar and a Mark V, and a SFDR. I know how fortunate I am, but it takes on a different dimension when you see someone else talk about it.

    Sorry, I wasn't clear...I have 7 amps already..I need to unload a few before I get anymore....its more a space and sanity thing. :P

Gear is more fun to buy then to unload. :/

  10. On behalf of every freeloader on this Forum—Thank you for all you do!

Your job is thankless and probably irksome at times. TRF members offer our collective appreciation for your selfless devotion to our favorite website.

We're not worthy 73! It's people like you, and all the mods, who have made our lives a little brighter by the connections we get share here in cyberspace.

I think he reads our PMs just for fun when he gets bored.

    :o

Nope, can't read PMs here. We mods, however, CAN read your minds...

Thanks to all for the kind words. 30,000 posts....that's a lot. How did I have the time for 30,000 posts? I'm waiting for Ted Knight to walk in on us and say this:

That's a lot of posts I'm sure at least a few hundred are worth reading. Ha. Congrats. :P

  11. Thanks for the info. Yes, Hex editor..I have that also...maybe the NES and sega are different programs...haven't done it in a while. I mostly learn by trail and error. Was able to teach myself VB, ASP, SQL, etc because it was all logical and in English...But some of those old NES games are just numbers with footnotes in Japanese...add the compression and I'm lost on some games. :)

Keep up the nice work...very cool.

  12. Did you create this from scratch? Looks good...just like an early NES game to me.

I've downloaded an ASCII editor and some NES roms to modify, but just text editting (added Tiger Woods to PGA Tour golf, change the rosters on the sega NHL roms, etc). Was this build in ASCII? I would love to change the layout of some golf courses, or edit more than just text but I don't understand the language enough really.

Amazes me how small in size those early games are...the roms are like 2mb....I guess space was a premium since the code is just one string in most roms.

  13. If ever a guitar was me, it is this one.

Sweet! Damn, I need a Tele. Details on that one, please.

I DID say I needed a Tele, did I not?

Me and a friend went to GC today. They had a 15% off trade-in sale, so he brought in a few things and picked up a new Deluxe Reverb. Meanwhile I was sitting there playing a new Tele that I couldn't put down. My friend (owner of two Teles) sat down and he played it too, and of course he suggested I buy it. Easy for him to say! He asked the sales guy, "What can you do if he got this Tele?" "I'll take 15% off of that, too." Pretty good considering I didn't bring anything to trade in.

    So I bought it. :)

MIM FSR Tele, butterscotch, hot standard pickups, ash body, classic three saddle bridge with brass inserts. The neck and frets are very nice. $461 with tax. Happy!

Nice. I would stap a TX special in the neck though. :)

What is the GC exchange rate on used gear? 50-60% of eBay prices? I have some gear to unload, and was thinking about a tele or a SRV or EJ maybe (kinda want a 12 radius fender).
