  1. Well, I gave it a break after listening to it Nonstop for about 2 months. Well, I gave it a break and it is BETTER THAN EVER! No DOUBT I like it more than 2112! To me, it is almost better than my all-time favorite Rush album Hemispheres.
  2. I went with Chain Lightning. Where's The Color Of Right?
  3. My very deepest condolences. I am so sorry. I have been orphaned for the past 25 months. It is horrible to lose anyone you love. I know exactly what you mean about The Garden, the way Geddy sings the lyrics and the piano. Alex's guitar solo. One night while listening to it and reading the lyrics and thinking about the brevity and preciousness of life and the finality of death, I lost it. It is indescribable what music can do to us.
  4. Could have gone with any of them. But went with Halo Effect.
  5. It sounds like synthesizer. Maybe Geddy broke out the Polymoog. It could have been louder in the mix. Maybe it is Taurus pedals, but I don't think so. It is perfect no matter what it is.
  6. I noticed that the bass plays the melody in The Anarchist. No doubt Geddy wrote most, if not all of this song.
  7. Was listening to My Favorite Headache today. Love that album. I can't help but wonder if this might have been a Rush album had things been happening with the band when it was made. Listening to it, I am reminded of just how much Geddy writes for Rush. I can picture most of this album being played by Alex and Neil. Would have been interesting. But I like it just how it is.
  8. Got it on cassette when it first came out! A Canadian made me a copy on CD. It is now worth a lot on CD. I think it is out of print. Check ebay. A GREAT album overall! Brian ROCKS! April Wine ROCKS!
  9. It may have been interesting, but I think it may have sounded dated. Nick is getting them to be reborn and reinvented.
  10. Been into them for 35 years! I cannot believe how they get better EVERY ALBUM!
  11. The Anarchist, Carnies, Halo Effect
  12. Sorry everyone! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Sorry man. Give it time. Look, when I first heard Rush in 1977, I could not stand them! Then, they started to grow on me, then I could not stop listening to A Farewell To Kings. I really think Rush is the greatest band of all time.
  14. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jun 24 2012, 11:07 PM) The album is perfect the way it is!
  15. Anarchist, Carnies, Halo Effect.
  16. I remember when Jim Ladd interviewed Neil after Permanent Waves came out. First time Jim interviewed him. I also have him interviewing Neil when Moving Pictures came out somewhere on cassette. Those were the days.
  17. I love it too! Kind of reminds me when Bonzo did it on Black Dog back in 1971!
  18. You just gotta keep listening to it over and over and over. Listen to it in the car, listen to it with headphones on with the lyric sheet, listen to it while on the computer and listen to it while drinking! Eventually you'll get it!
  19. It is WAY too early for a break from Rush before the tour. I do that too: I usually don't listen to a band I am going to see until 1 week before the show so I can get really pumped! Never less than 5 days or a week, because you may forget about songs you really want to hear.
  20. It adds greatly to the story of the album and understanding it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Cities_of_Gold_(myth)
