I had front row in Chicago. Screamin show!! Cranial overload!
Too much talent under one roof at one time. Watching Mike makes me want to practice all day, everyday-soooo inspiring!
Drove 3 hours to see them from Indiana. Worth every mile.
P.S saw Charlie Benante from Anthrax before the show. Very cool!Hey colleen!!
How's my friend across the water???
There is water between us right???
Well yeah unless someone moved the Atlantic when we weren't watching...maybe it was aliens that did it...
I really started something, didn't I?....
No mate, it's been going on for months now...

QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Aug 12 2007, 01:05 PM) Saw DT in Cleveland last night and the meet n greet was... um.... interesting.... Here's how it went, wording not exact I am sure but pretty damn close...
I am in the line to get my picture taken with them, wearing my The Rush Forum shirt. My turn comes, I walk up:
Me: "Hey guys, how ya doing?"
Mike Portnoy: "The Rush Forum? You guys think we suck."
Me: "Huh? That's not true!"
Jorden Rudess: "Who thinks we suck?"
Mike Portnoy: "They do - The Rush Forum. They hate us over there"
Me: "That isn't true - only 3 or 4 people are like that, just ignore them."
During the signing I was like "Really, there are only a few people who say that, I wouldn't be here if I thought you sucked" to which Mike mumbled something like "It's ok".
I thought it sucked, I was embarrassed for this website because of the dildos here who have to be as vocal as possible in how much they think "DT sucks"...
Concert was great, but I was disappointed in my seats. While I had third row, I was off to the side and it was actually a limited view seat in the end - I couldn't see Portnoy, I could see John P about half the time, and could hardly see Jordan. I am surprised they would allow someone to pay $300 face value for a seat like this. I ended up leaving during encore because I had a 4 hour drive home and was tired of craning my neck to see...
DT does not suck and I am ashamed that Mike Portnoy has actually read those assinine comments here....Errrrrr Necrooooooooooooooooooooooooo....

Seinfeld easily, very easily...
Not only is Seinfeld way better the show even "post series" entertainment like Michael Richards making a tw** of himself in a comedy club...

I read Sacred back in 1997 and I wasn't impressed at all. It was totally unconvincing. Compared to people like James Ellroy, Joe Lansdale, George Pelicanos, James Hall, Elmore Leonard, Michael Connolly he's merely treading water...

The only time I may have had something like that happen, but I'm not sure, was when I was at junior school, at around 10 years old, so it'd be in 1977. I was in the dining hall one day eating my lunch and the bulldog on duty (sorry, teacher), got a bit angry at something I said to someone and hit me in the back of the head just above the nape of my neck. Apparantly I "freaked out" and then lay unconscious with my face in my dinner for several moments. I came to not really sure what had happened, but my friend's filled me in. Mr Briely aka the bulldog, had gone a pale shade of grey as he trudged sheepishly past, he didn't apologize though.
So it wasn't exactly epilepsy and I've never had anything like that happen to me again, but it's somewhere in that vicinity. I suppose I found out the hard way why rabbit punching is a no-no in boxing...

QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Jul 26 2007, 08:45 PM) -I don't like people who always say, "like".
-I don't like it when people don't finish their sentences.
-I don't like it when somebody uses the article "an" before a word starting with "h". For example, "An historic". It drives me nuts.
-I don't like to be touched.
-Pull up your damn pants.
These are only a few.like come here priest (messes his (an) hair and tweaks (an) his nose) like this is an historic moment (n is in there for English language purposes). Now errrr like listen to this, like I'm going to tell you something really important about Rush, you ready? Like Geddy and Neil are going to

I'm not sure Myers has enough of a dark side, Keith was a pretty powerful character, Mike appears too lightweight for the role to me...
I wouldn't underestimate his dramatic acting....He did a good job portraying Steve Rubell in the movie "54" and was praised big time. Some even thought he should've been nominated for an Oscar that year.
He'll be fine. After all Moon was a crazy loon as we all know and I can't think of anyone else to play him really.
What about Sam Rockwell?

James Hall is no ordinary average, one-book-a-year, A,B,C, 1,2,3 thriller author. No sir. He has a nice poetic writing style, to go with his storytelling/suspense skills. He also has something to say. He has soul. All of which makes him a valuable writer, so if you haven't read one of Hall's novels and you're in the mood for a good thriller, he's your guy.
Red Sky at Night isn't Hall's best Thorn mystery, in fact it took a while to get going, but even a modest entry in the Hall canon is a good read. I'll read a couple more of Hall's Thorn books later in the year...

The book cracked me up the way he blabbed about Huey Lewis and Genesis in a kind of machine-like fashion...right after watching "Inside Lydia's Ass" and murdering some poor chick. Now that's BLACK comedy...
(note: liberties taken with plot order due to memory malfunction)

No, he'd jump in his limo after 250 yards and you'd be still building up your pace...

Hey! You Portnoy?
That would be funny/sad if it was really him.
He might not really even check these boards, like some think. He could of just heard from others that they were disliked on here, or maybe he glanced once.
You do an awful lot of talking about bands you don't like, which seems strange to me...
