Thank you Daylin! :) Yes, time has marched on. Kerry will be 22 next month and graduating from college in May!
Of course the really amazing thing is that I am still 35!

So that's me and my son, Kerry. I finally finished my Masters in December, so... :7up:

My son, who was just a little boy when I helped start TRF, is now a senior in college, majoring in Music Theory and Composition. He's a drummer also, and grew up listening to Rush. He recorded a couple of covers in tribute to Neil. Here's one:
This is absolutely awesome!!!!!!

This place has been a look back at TRF history the past two days. So many familiar names stopping in, saying hi, paying tribute. So good to see you all.

Grateful to see that I'm not the only prodigal returning here today.
Those who remember me know that I was by turns amused by, challenged by, and enthralled by Neil's words. I will forever be thankful I went searching online for clips of Neil's appearance on Politically Incorrect, all those many years ago. That search is what led me to this place and some of the best people I've ever been honored to call friends.
I love you guys. You all know who you are. Thank you for making my life immeasurably better.

Many of you don't know me. I know I'm listed as an admin but have been mostly MIA.
But today this is where I have to be. I'm a Rush fan because of Neil. His books drew me in before I grew to love the music.
Because of him, I'll never be the same. Chose my username because of his book...
I am devastated and in shock.
I am totally numb. At a complete loss for words or thoughts.
Same.

That was beautiful. I'm waiting on my order of "Songbook" to arrive any day now.

I read this poem last weekend, and was overwhelmed with its perfection. Tom is brilliant and clearly loved Chris very much.

Yes, that last one is very moving. I've watched it a few times.

Amazing, thank you. I'd heard they performed this, I'm so glad to get to see it.
That little moment at the beginning with Mike... wow.

I never saw Nirvana, Alice in Chains, or Stone Temple Pilots. But I did see Soundgarden. I owned many Soundgarden and Audioslave CDs, as well as Chris's solo work. I even joined his website and fan club. I used to do Photoshop cartoons of him with tiny animals at the NIN forums. In the late 2000s, I had that song Be Yourself on repeat because it was like a lullaby to me. Chris's death hurt a lot more than Kurt's, Layne's and Scott's. It affected me on a personal level, even though I never met the guy. He had a unique voice that spanned 4 octaves, and he was a poet. I could understand his collaboration with Timbaland even though everyone else mocked it. That project was a natural extension for a man with soulful vocals. He had a multi-ethnic background and collaborated with all kinds of people. He represented modern-day America. He was also a generous man who helped people just starting out in the music industry. He was one of those people who gave back.
Beautifully stated. I also have an appreciation for Scream...I get what he was doing.
I had a chance to see them here in my state less than a month ago, and just couldn't swing it for various reasons. I'd give anything if I could've found a way. I never got to see him live.

We may never know what happened.
This thread is a place to remember and celebrate his life, his beautiful eyes, his voice that ripped through me like an electric current...

It's working, thanks.
I truly didn't know much about this song before he died. Now I can't stop listening to it.
That the title sequence song from 2006's Casino Royale, the first Bond movie with Daniel Craig. Easily my favorite Bond song.
Yes! It seems so perfect for a Bond movie, right? Did you watch that live performance? He nailed it.

All I do with the links is take the "s" out of "https" and copy and paste the link here when i'm on my laptop. I only use the "share" option if i'm on my phone.
I think she chose Embed before copying the link. That puts HTML code into it, and that won't work in here.
You also have to uncheck the Share Playlist box if it's there, because that also adds extra code that the board can't use.
Yes, grandmaw finally figured it out. Thanks, kids.
Did you make cookies, grandmaw? I think I smell cookies.
It's my new perfume. Tollhouse No. 5
