  1. No way. AI stuff will always be a blander smoothed out version of the best. But I do agree with the AI training and I think there will be AI products based on their specific training pool. Like specific industry AI for the enterprise. Conservative christian bible based AI for those people. Radical progressive politics for the other people. And maybe even specific AI products for generating music trained on specific genres and if you can't think of a specific song to listen to or even shuffle you can dial in 70% prog, 10% jazz, 20% traditional bluegrass and the AI will generate some music to pass the time. Turn up the "melancholy" knob for something sadder, crank the "happy" knob on a Friday. Hell I'm happy we have spell check that's pretty good AI.
  2. 2112 off Different Stages but then it kept playing and I listened to the live Test for Echo and it didn't suck as bad as I recalled. Alex goes a little wild in the middle - good stuff.
  3. I love this track too. ATWAS over the studio version but I listen to them both.
  4. I was in 7th grade and had enough money to buy what albums I wanted and bought A Farewell to Kings based just on the cover. I loved the whole thing especially Cygnus X1 and the sound effects and narration. Bought Hemispheres right when it came out so I could see what happened to those dudes. Got into high school and all the cool older band kids were into Rush and then I heard 2112 . . . Dropped off at Power Windows got into the bootleg scene in the early Usenet groups at the turn off the century found the recording of my first show 2-2-80 @ Tarrant County Convention Center. Bought Vapor Trails the day it came out got 20 seconds in and I was back.
  5. First 10 rows for me and for most of the latter era shows that's where I got. Notable exception was Vapor Trails being up the hill and in the middle at The Gorge in Washington with the whole big Columbia River view and the lit box of Rush jamming out.
  6. HA!! I just watched the episode (didn't know about Rush) and I already bought in with the wacky hifi speakers and then Working Man and the sly John Rutsy drummer line later on - good stuff. American Dad has gone slack but always have a couple good episodes each season and I'd say this was a good one.
  7. I'll agree on the tour being good. I never owned TFE and had been out of Rush for awhile but went to a TFE show last minute and had a lot of fun. Full 2112 and songs I had never heard. The Different Stages album was the next Rush album I bought and it is what got the foundation laid for my resurgence into Rush.
  8. I love Omar Hakim and have seen him play many times and I am sure I never said "He should sit in with Rush" but that made total sense.
  9. I am loving the new MP 40th live set and it has been on high rotation. ESL is it's own thing and I always felt it was a disjointed listening experience but the more live Rush the better! Amazingly I have found myself listening to the medley and it got me reconnected with the song In the End.
  10. I'd dropped off Rush at Power Windows. Had kinda been getting into them again and bought Vapor Trails day it came out. 20 seconds in I was back to loving Rush.
  11. Worth it. I pulled it out recently for the whole 2112 enchilada. And it was dang tasty.
