  1. although I’m not a fan of DT and am not familiar with Jordan’s work I really enjoyed reading that. Really nice job.
  2. geddy wrote tears i think that all three were probably closer friends in the earlier days but then they grew apart especially as neil started to lose interest in music and regard it more as a way of making money than a calling while meanwhile al and ged were still just as passionate about music as they ever had been. Neil seems hard t9 get to know Understatement of the year. It’s only in reply to those that buy the thought that Neil joined the band and they all became besties. It’s more likely he sat alone reading a lot and working on lyrics and riding bikes than goofing around with a couple guys that had been friends for 10+ years but maybe that’s an understatement
  3. For me the best mix of rhythm, lead, and writing is Jimmy Page. For lead I might go with david or Eddie and rhythm I might go with Alex or Steve but ultimate combo is jimmy.

Maybe. Neil seems hard t9 get to know
  5. Al and GED are clearly great friends. Are they really that good of friends with Neil? I’m not so sure.
  6. I would but I’m not willing to give them my info
  7. What eventually became country started as hillbilly music and included what we would call bluegrass, blues, swing, and folk. In the 40s someth8ng called honky took developed and is what most closely resembles what we call country now. My dad was a huge fan and a little of it rubbed off on me. His favorites were Johnny cash, hank sr, buck Owens and the whole Bakersfield sub genre.
  8. Everyone’s so focused on Neil’s role in exactly when they shut it down that they forget how old these guys are. I hope they don’t do anything and enjoy their time.
  9. Not offensive. I’m not a fan of anything Freud related so I won’t give it much analaysis. I just feel they’ve spun a narrative around Neil’s behavior so much that it’s just accepted at face value. He has no issue reaching out to authors and others he wants to connect with when it interests him but when people interested in him reach out he shuts down. He can do whatever he wants but I take the whole “I’m too shy to talk to you people” thing with a major grain of salt.
  10. Since I’m not gay I would never describe a penis as tasty but according to this pete did. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/earshot/pete-townshend-mick-jagger-huge-tasty-351192
  11. This thread is ridiculous. I see a couple people there I would consider great talents and a bunch of very average talents.
  12. not elitist. garth brooks just sucks. Mick That's one opinion, but obviously there are a shit ton more who disagree with you. I'm not a fan of his music but I know personally he's a genuinely nice guy and is very good to his fans, unlike the former greatest rock drummer who is also a prick to his fans, and other people. Yeah, if I started a thread for every artist I think is overrated or sucks (but a lot of people like) a bunch of people here would have their panties in a twist.
  13. But isn't that part of a musician's talent - becoming a favorite to a lot of people, I think, should carry some weight as far as what it takes to become a Guitar God I agree. How can you measure skill with this kind of thing anyway? You can't. If measured on pure skill wouldn't/shouldn't Satriani have more votes? Shouldn't he be near the very top? I voted for him but he won't win this. He won't even come close and that's easily understandable. I also voted George Harrison who is very far from Joe in terms of...many things. One's a guitar wizard and the other has made some magic that's lasted. Both are more than worthy of praise. Skill? Yeah, how do you measure that here? I voted for Eddie and Alex but, when it comes to skills, you can’t deny that Alex has great nunchucks skills plus he’s a pilot.
  14. Is that dollars? Garth was huge in the 90s and I think country still has a lot of fans willing to pay for music. I’m pretty sure I had a couple of his CDs back then. Huge crossover
  15. All I hope is for at least one more album instead of letting Neil's retirement be Rush's ultimate future. As much as I deeply respect Neil since he is my favorite drummer and my hero, my respect for him is somewhat slipping away because his retirement just set off a domino effect of Rush's career going down the tubes in terms of what the future holds. Neil has a second chance at family life after not being there much for his first family due to touring and then the demise of that family. How selfish would we be to ask for more? Btw, I don’t think they can make money on an album so, as much as I wouldn’t mind new music, it doesn’t make sense to record and not tour. They’re not going to spend months working on something to hopefully break even.
  16. You’re telling me that’s a female on the left? It's a man. That's their drummer Jaxine Sparkles. He's the only male in the group. I know that Tony will hate them. I'm expecting it. LOL :) Ok the other post made it sound like they were all women
  17. You’re telling me that’s a female on the left?
  18. Tick has contributed more than most over the years so this isn’t a fair statement imo.
