To be fair, I'm not a fan of Chain Lightning, I think the chorus and corresponding cymbal ride are kinda cheesy... but the backwards guitar solo brings the song back to B-... :P

Actually, they forgot to plug Geddy in, so yeah there is bass, technically...but whatever... Available Light and Presto are two of the best songs Rush ever recorded...goose bumps type of stuff... :)

Sorta disagree...this is '83/84' Madonna, Michael Jackson, Van Halen, Huey Lewis, Phil Collins... were dominating MTV...(plus add your crap hair band....) The only other mainstream band that I would consider darkwave was U2... Maybe that`s why Alex cites Dave Evens as an influence....

the whole vibe for g/p is dark, cold, bleak...especially Alex's guitar tone, it sounds like he was recorded in some moonless, frozen wasteland.

Cannot fault those choices. Surprise me - Alex is tied with...? EVH for me (undervalued as a rhythm guitarist), only other guitarist with Alex who creates riffs I could listen to out of the song context. Vai for stunt guitar. Satriani for melody. My answers were pretty much the same in 1990, which shows either I am completely stuck or that it's the only thing I was right about as a teenager. For me, Alex has too many solos that are great and beyond description - tricky, nuanced, soulful, or just plain out ripping it up (Necromancer). Analog Kid Kid Gloves Digital Man ....anything off of ATWAS... Wow... :D

If that is true then that is the best news ever. Because 90% of the time the total opposite of what Alex says to the media usually ends up happening. True! If only. . . Of course the graphic under Alex's pic states "Rush", not ex-Rush, has been in Rush, or other deluded thoughts of continuing with retirement...

Definitely. Geddy sometimes didn’t take Rush to Europe but dammit he sure is gonna take his book!! :D ....well books don`t suffer from Tourette like meltdowns.

Have you heard RUSH: ANAHEIM - The Definitive Edition? Although this would technically be the MP Tour.. A definitive nope... ;) Well, you don't have to listen to every boot that's ever been out there. Listening to one from each tour is fine. That way you don't get bored with the same setlist. I came from a time when boots were seemingly random cassettes peddled at parties, or parking lots...I recall listening to one where it was like 'AWESOME..they're playing Xanad.......' the song soon to be drowned out by some dude talking and screaming into his handheld....shuffle shuffle... Blech...

Aside form owning Rush 'N' Roulette, I have zero interest in bootlegs How many times can you listen to the same set of songs, with varying degrees of quality and performance? That said I would murder someone for a full version of the ESL tour... :P
