  1. Just songs? Snakes and Arrows, it was supposed to be a good album based on the price tag at Best Buy....
  2. New drummer? More likely...
  3. Didn't Jean $immons brings girls to Rush's room only to have Alex scare them off with "The Bag"? (Not sure where I read that....) :D
  4. Planet X-1

    Secret Touch

It's one of the few songs that has a groove, so it's certainly unique in more than one category. ;)
  5. ^^^ This. I think the best we can hope for is Geddy and Alex sharing the stage at another RHOF induction ceremony or benefit concert...
  6. ^^^ I dislike The Beatles, bigly time...but this is correct... (and I seldom agree, if at all, with Slim :P )
  7. Rush, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles...
  8. The last acoustic inspired album by Alex was S&A... I'll pass... :P
  9. Lurk? Ha, Alex isn't a TruRushFanTM :P
  10. ...maybe their most experimental? But weirdest album? I would go with Signals.... With the complete change in musical composition/direction, Rush lost a lot of fans (but picked up new ones as well ).... Weird is not necessarily good!
  11. ^^^ although only the studio version (those space aliens squeals are like nothing I've ever heard before) Live Bytor from ATWAS totally kick's ass.
  12. That's interesting. Their name matches the number of chords they use. But I like them as they are. I used to be more snobby about it but now I realize some bands shouldn't change their formula too much. Look what happened with New Coke. I should have said their name would have been: Am/B#m7/Dmaj9/Csus4/bizarre scale..."For those about to kinda rock....!" New Coke was great until I tried it :D New Coke turned out to be the best thing ever for the company. Pepsi was outselling them before new coke but after Coca-cola brought back Coca-cola classic, Coke has outsold Pepsi ever since. Well, hitting rock bottom helps....even a dead cat will bounce. :)

  14. You've been possessed by ouchie. You don't think this is an important topic? We all care about Ged's financial well-being. I bet he uses Diner's Club. I was thinking "Winer's Club" http://www.2112.net/powerwindows/coverpics/EntertainmentWeekly20mar2009.jpg
  15. Great rock musicians play by feel more than anything. Theory just allows a greater continuation and expression of ideas for more complex songs. Imagine if Angus and Malcolm learned jazz? Instead of AC/DC we'd have AB/CD... :P
  16. To directly answer...NO...they didn't get away with anything. I watched an old LVS version and Alex and Geddy were very busy recreating the exact sound of the album, even adding to the magic...Especially Alex playing the bass/Taurus pedals while playing the intro riff....Geddy is jamming away on the keyboard creating a netherworld of awesomeness... Now? Neil triggers the "Hemispheres'" chord during Far Cry.... :( Alex should have stood tall and hammered that chord in guitar god fashion. :P edit: stupid fingers :D
  17. ^^^ Besides most of the list being wrong, this is a prime example of why these lists are just opinion pieces. I would love to see Rush ask their fans to do a 180 song ranking and publish the results. I think it wouldn't end up being that far off, but we really wouldn't know until such a sizable undertaking was.... undertaken. All I know is that one of my favorite rap tunes is near the bottom.... :P I would like to see Rush's producers and engineers create a list (and maybe the road crew)
  18. Barchetta is one Rush song I've liked since the very first time I've heard it. Freewill is a contender as well. Note the concentration of 1977-1981 material near the top. There's no doubting there's 4 quality albums in a row that are almost unmatched in rock music. I would through in 2112 and call it 5.... :)

  20. Even TruRushTM Fans know there are only 9 good Rush tunes...sheesh.... :P
  21. ...more like resurrected ;) Check out Skillet if you're interested in a good rock band who happens to have Christian members.
  22. I'm guessing this is what you really look like....:P http://livedoor.3.blogimg.jp/insidears/imgs/9/1/91b19947.gif
  23. Peart should’ve been doing book signings too but it’s just not in him to meet people like that. If I were him I’d go out of my comfort zone and do a limited book signing fandango. Fans would shit themselves then kill each other for those limited tickets. Peart is really good at hide and seek. Well he's good at hiding but he doesn't bother seeking... You know he sought enlightenment in China's mountains, giving us the gift of Tai Shan . . . . It's a heavy metal masterpiece isn't it?? One of my first posts, if not very first post, was about my hike up Tai Shan. You can blame that song for bringing me to TRF! (I had several pics of that trip on here too but then photobucket got greedy so now there’s nothing but the post itself) I never used photobucket fortunately. I used that other one which has disappeared now, or I've not used it anyway. Nowadays it's IMGUR or Tiny. There's another one too. We’ve digressed! Dirk’s book tour! Dirk’s book tour! Peart needs a scheme to win back the public interest from Geddy. Maybe he should do a busking book tour, drumming and signing at the same time? Someone read your mind! :ebert: :ebert: https://thehardtimes...0-bucket-setup/ All he needs now is Buckethead! hmmmm.....maybe Pert shoulda stuffed a Macallan whiskey box on his noggin back in the day instead of that stupid beanie.
  24. ...well that should be obvious.
