  1. I imagine they'll be playing High Water? :P Followed up with No One at the Bridge...(which will be shoehorned into SuperDisruptor... :D)
  2. ...your in good company.....Christopher Walken approves ambiguity... :D YOUR YOUR YOUR CP will live on m***********! the spellin was : in spirit of the ambiguity of syntax.... You made Chris angry! :P http://www.hotflick.net/flicks/2005_Wedding_Crashers/005WDC_Christopher_Walken_005.jpg
  3. Thank Ged... the most annoying thing was...
  4. ...your in good company.....Christopher Walken approves ambiguity...:D
  5. Should be "Rush WERE a Canadian prog rock band". They speak the Queen's English in Canada. Therefore I don't believe it ;) A grammatical difference that I've never been able to tolerate. I will always say Rush was..... :laughing guy: Rush is a collective noun functioning as a unit - "was" is correct. So, would you say "The Beatles was great"? No. That's clearly a plural noun, not a collective noun. And putting quotes around "The Beatles" (post #198) is conceptualizing the phrase as a name, thereby treating it as singular. You've boxed it up, in a way. A+ :ebert: In the case of Rush, use of a singular or plural verb form can be used, depending on context. "Rush is a prog band." (collective) But, "Rush are playing in Seattle tomorrow." ( individuals, acting together) Now, how about the use of "None of them are..."? :P None = not one Also: Make sure everybody has proper shoes. Make sure every body has a toe-tag. Man, you guys are gramma nazis..I thought CP was bad...:P
  6. I just revisted CA in an attempt to find the 'masterpiece' that so many claim it to be. But, once again, the full album strikes as overwrought and (in the order presented) a dull listening experience. Trimmed and resequenced I can enjoy it, but as presented it's a drag. Yup. Liked it when it first came out. Like it, liked it, liked it...and then, suddenly, I didn't. I like the first 4 songs and The Garden but the rest becomes what our sound engineer called wearing in that there's no light and shade so your ears become weary of listening to it. To me this is an unfortunate and unforeseen outcome of the CD format, for any Rush studio production. I find listening to 60 minutes of straight music, a bit straining on the ears (not to mention losing concentration, or even interest). With albums and tapes, you had that brief break between flipping sides. Not mention Side A and Side B were ordered to create varied soundscapes, or themes.. IMHO of course...:D
  7. Alex is a better guitar player than Eddie.... :D
  8. It's Earth - only humans would be so melodramatic as to off themselves over a cheesy story line...:P "when the surving {sic} planets were banded together under the Red Star of the Solar Federation. The less fortunate gave us a few new moons."
  9. I wish I could eliminate "basically" from the English language. People overuse that word almost as often as they overuse "like"...... :sarcastic: Basically you’re right. :P
  10. ...stop using alternative facts. :P Truth be told, PeW is a 70's album but was most influential during the 80s...(and the 90s...and into next millennia).
  11. whoah...for a second I thought I logged into Counterparts. :P
  12. without Working Man, no Old Rush nor Nu Rush (which would please many...)
  13. No it most certainly isn't. Completely agree. However since I don`t own the album, it is the worst CD of the bunch.. :P
  14. Thou fear not. For Peart has fought the Balrog and fallen into the abyss to live a thousand lifetimes of man. For Peart shall return as Peart The White, forever young, reborn and baptized in a moment of grace, to adore her fans and pen lyrically sensibilities!
  15. [teeth grinding]....You said there wasn't going to be any people here, Geddy.....[/teeth grinding]
  16. Mrs. Howell? She had her moments. ;) ...which were all before electricity.
  17. I don't agree Signals is a dud, but I do agree about Subdivisions being the first. ...old Rush Good; new Rush Bad :D rinse, repeat
  18. The first true synth-keyboard song is Subdivisions as it's the instrument that carries the melody, without it the song is a dud. ....well more of a dud, actually...since Signals is a dud to begin with, because well, Signals uses keyboards. :P
  19. EXACTLY. And where the hell have you been lately? I was in your area recently. Not even sure where your area is, but I've covered all of eastern MA but the Cape, so I was close... some advice....just in case you missed a city or two near my locale. :) Oh yeah, I'm still trying to hang with Neil. I just don`t understand why he won`t talk to me, I'm his favorite fan.
  20. It's already been a year and a half, and Neil has given zero indication that he misses it. Exactly how long will you wait before deciding they're not touring? 5 years? 10 years? You do realize they're all around mid sixties in age NOW and that Rush music requires quite a bit of dexterity to play, right? Believe what you like, but we have a better chance of being visited by the Great Pumpkin. Last time I checked Rush didn`t tour between tours.... :P And where the hell have you been by the way? Stalking and taking pictures of Neil. I figure the best way to get him back on tour is to let him know how much he means to me..I mean us....
