  1. Wow, never saw a pic like that from SMC. Great one RR. When we call that one a real Galaxy, this is the closest one to our own. The next would be the Large Magellanic Cloud and then come the famous Andromeda , M31.
  2. Hopefully the mods have finished all the level icons. Not that sfuentes reach a level, no icon is made for.
  3. QUOTE (NeilPeartFan2112 @ Jan 17 2005, 03:34 PM) I don't know if anyone on here has ever heard their music, but Dio is a very good band. Everyone should get some of their CDs. Some of their more famous songs are Man on the Silver Mountain, Rainbow in the Dark and Last In Line. Very good stuff. One correction, Man on the silver Mountain has DIO on Vocals but the Band is Rainbow. This small guy has one of the best Rock vioces ever. Do you know the song Rainbow eyes from Rainbows-Long live Rock`n Roll. A beauty just like Rivendell. Did I mention that I will recive a Pro shot DVD of DIO best of Set last year on an German Open Air. When there is interest....Let me know
  4. A week ago I bought "Sirenia - An Elixir for Existance" at their show. Great for Headbanging. Cradle of Filth meets Therion
  5. QUOTE (rickyrob @ Jan 12 2005, 08:03 AM) Here's one from the Hubble Site. I have this pic in one of my books: Gravity really does bend light. This picture shows an image of a galaxy (the bluish halos around the outside) that exists behind the star cluster in the middle of the picture. The gravitaional effect of the star cluster (which would normally hide the galaxy in question) has bent the light around it, so we see this halo effect. I guess this is the best image to discribe and show the effect of Gravity Lenses. Good one.
  6. QUOTE (Rhiannon_of_Rivendell @ Jan 11 2005, 02:24 PM) I collect pocket dragons or dragons of any kind and hockey cards. The cards are a fairly new habit... can't go into Sports Collectibles w/out grabbing a couple packs, and the MAD things aren't cheap! Right now I am trying to get cards for my local AHL team. Not the ones they have out now, buit older cards, pee wees, QBMJL, etc. Hey, anyone here have a Kitchner Rangers card of Petr Kanko they'd like to unload? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v394/Rhiannon_of_Rivendell/Smile.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v394/Rhiannon_of_Rivendell/the_teacher.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v394/Rhiannon_of_Rivendell/coffee_please.jpg RoR, they are so cute. I have one of those lil dragons in front of my monitor at home. http://www.fallout.de/phoenix/pictures/dragons.jpg

  10. QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Jan 3 2005, 09:15 AM) Explanation: Perhaps the most famous star cluster on the sky, the Pleiades can be seen without binoculars from even the depths of a light-polluted city. Also known as the Seven Sisters and M45, the Pleiades is one of the brightest and closest open clusters. The Pleiades contains over 3000 stars, is about 400 light years away, and only 13 light years across. Quite evident in the above photograph are the blue reflection nebulae that surround the brighter cluster stars. Low mass, faint, brown dwarfs have also been found in the Pleiades. (Editors' note: The prominent diffraction spikes are caused by the telescope itself and may be either distracting or provide aesthetic enhancement, depending on your point of view.) A facinating object. Did some one know that the Maya allready counted more than 40 single stars in that cluster. Everytime I look to the sky and saw them, I take a rest and watch for a minute or so.
  11. QUOTE (esmeralda @ Dec 8 2004, 09:06 AM) In February I'll go to Nightwish, and In June (still so far away) I'm going to see Rammstein again, at the Field of Rock Festival in Nijmegen! Are Nightwish on Tour? I saw them 2 times at the Wacken open Air and they ruled the stage. Have you any dates?
