  5. Wow,seems like alot of you around here are into Nightwish now.

Good Job Kazz & Emmy. trink39.gif

For myself I first saw Nightwish in 2001 on the Wacken Open Air, and they sound interesting. Later that year I heard the Century Child album and was into it.

Saw them 3 times now, and I hope that the DVD boot from Braunschweig/Germany this year will be released soon. drool1.gif

    Anybody know about Edenbridge???

Near to Nightwish but with a clear female vioce and more with classical touch and arrangements. Check them out.

That was a long time ago, Aardschok Festival I think it was 1979, with Saxon, Accept, Raven (good memories about this band) and some more.

A mighty Hail to you for seeing Accept in these days new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

I will see them again this year in Wacken. 26 years later. Woohoooo

  8. My first show was in Dezember 1990, as I went with a friend to a German comedy Band called "Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung" or "EAV" in short.

They are all good musicans and their lyrics are funny in the first place but when you listen and think about you will find out that the lyrics have a deep meaning. And that is not easy to realize I love the band till today.

The Scorpions were the next band I saw.

    In their hometown!!! 1991

oh ye forgot Nightwish and Kamelot ...thanx to kazz

Nightwish is a long time fave but Kamelot came to me through Kazz new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Beside that I love the old Teutonic Metal like Helloween and Accept, all the way through time till our days. Also I love Synthesizer music like Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis or Kraftwerk. Not to forget about the Gothic Rock stuff, The Cure, Fields of the Nephilim & Lacrimosa.

Alot of different styles, and none of them are common where I live (Germany). sad.gif

  10. The one that makes my cry is Kai Hansen and his Solo in "How many Tears" by Helloween. You have to listen..... The solo is about 3 minutes more a instrumental part than a solo but one the best I know.

Another great solo is the sliding guitar in "This flight tonight" by Nazareth.

Not to forget about Mike Oldfield and his work on Tubular Bell II.
