  2. Saw it two days ago, and have to say that this one is closer to the attitude of Ian Flemmings Bond then any other Bond Movie before. For me I can say, good one, even when I miss some things from the movies before.
  3. Went through the store today and found a new release by Fields of the Nephilim. Genesis & Revelation, which is 2CD set including a DVD too. Rare stuff from the early days and new Live performances from 1996 on, on the DVD. WOHOOO
  4. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Nov 16 2006, 01:46 PM) QUOTE (Phoenix @ Nov 15 2006, 11:02 PM) Jean Michelle Jarre - Studio on CD I don't have everything he ever did, but I have several albums by him. How are his last 2 or 3? How doo they compare with Zoolook, Rendezvous, Les Chants Magnetiques and En Attendant Cousteau? Heya, sorry for the delay here. Well to be honest, I bought all his studio hoping that I would like as much as I loved his early stuff. I can't compare his lastest releases, cause I don't listen to them enough to give a answer to that question. Sorry that I am no help here, but also a kick to my ass to give another chance to the newer ones.
  5. Well, never was that big Fan of the Scorpions, maybe I met some of them here in town from time to time and realized that they are normal people anyway The Scorps were at their best during Savagae amusement, Virgin Killer, World wide Life times in my point of view. Saw them two times this year, first during the openeing ceremony for the Soccer World championship and the second time at the Wacken Open and have to say, OK they did Crazy World and the albums forthcoming but they still can Rock a 15.000 people crowd without any problem and that`s what earns my respect. Like'em some way

  9. QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Jun 14 2006, 04:35 PM) http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0606/LagoonTrifid_mazlinmisti_c65.jpg Explanation: These three bright nebulae are often featured in telescopic tours of the constellation Sagittarius and the crowded starfields of the central Milky Way. In fact, 18th century cosmic tourist Charles Messier cataloged two of them; M8, the nebula below and right of center, and colorful M20 at the upper right. The third, NGC 6559, is left of M8, separated from the the larger nebula by a dark dust lane. All three are stellar nurseries about five thousand light-years or so distant. The expansive M8, over a hundred light-years across, is also known as the Lagoon Nebula while M20's popular moniker is the Trifid. This stunning digital view is actually a collaborative composite recorded by 2 cameras and 2 telescopes about 2 thousand miles apart. The deep, wide image field was captured under dark Arizona skies. Both M8 and M20 were recorded in more detail from an observatory in Pennsylvania. Glowing hydrogen gas creates the dominant red color of the emission nebulae, with contrasting blue hues, most striking in the Trifid, due to dust reflected starlight. The Blue/purple one on the right side reminds me for the Orion-Nebula. Cool colours though.

  15. QUOTE (KenJennings @ Mar 28 2006, 06:02 AM) Wouldn't it, more properly, be "Buenos Noches, Meinen Freunden!" It's been ages since I took a German class. Gernan is not that easy. We use "meinen Freunden" too, but that would be like saying "I went to town with my friends" what is in German "Ich bin mit meinen Freunden in die Stadt gegangen" You can generally say that "meine Freunde" comes around with the word "are", like "you are my friends". But when you mean "with my friends" you have to say "mit meinen Freunden". This is advanced German I think. Should I continue?

  20. QUOTE (MiriyaB @ Feb 22 2006, 07:57 PM) QUOTE (Phoenix @ Feb 22 2006, 01:37 PM) QUOTE (MiriyaB @ Feb 21 2006, 02:02 AM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Feb 20 2006, 01:28 PM) I read somewhere that it was an intentional bastardization of a couple of different languages. Definitely! After all: German for "friend" is pronounced, but not spelled, Froind (it's Freund -- think "Freud"!) Similarly, proper Spanish would be "Buenas Noches" and not Buenos Nochas (bonus nachos? ) --they're jes' havin' fun! The correct translation for friend to German is "Freund". Miriya was absolutly right there, but I am not sure what she ment with Freud? Do think of Sigmund Freud then`This is only a name without a connection to the word Freund. Gute Nacht, meine Freunde Ja, mein Freund! All I was aiming at with the reference to Freud was that most English-speakers who do not know German do still know to pronounce the good doctor's name not as"Frood" but as "Froid"--and if they know that, then they shouldn't be surprised that "Freund" is pronounced "Froind"! So you're quite right: for sound, "Do think of Sigmund Freud" for sense, "then`This is only a name without a connection to the word Freund.'" but if you like your Schiller/Beethoven, you could also think of Freude, schoner Gotterfunken! (sorry for lack of umlauts here...) Ja nu guck, somebody who understands me. How do you speak German, many around here know some words but you seem to be quiet there. Well, of cause "Ode an die Freude" I love it ) Horrido
