  1. QUOTE (zappafrank @ Oct 4 2012, 11:27 AM) QUOTE (softfilter @ Oct 4 2012, 11:07 AM) Joan Jett and the supposed hate expressed by her because of the alleged incident with Jetts first band the Runaways Please to be be explaining There's a topic possibly others on TRF about a alleged incident involving The Runaways opening for Rush . Something about Rush making fun of them and throwing paper at the Runaways during there set?? And Runaways pissing on Geddys and Alex's guitars back stage in retaliation.
  2. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Oct 4 2012, 09:22 AM) QUOTE (EveryNerveAware @ Oct 4 2012, 09:10 AM) I really don't care whether they get into the Disco Hall of Fame or not, but as of right now, Rush has twice as many votes as the 2nd place band Deep Purple. I think this will be a landslide vote for Rush. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/vot...uctees-20121004 To you and everyone who thinks this "the fans get to vote" thing will have much of an impact: look carefully at the explanation of it, on the Rolling Stone website. The top five vote-getters, as voted on by we the public, will then get ONE official vote for induction. There are 600+ other persons who vote, and collectively we're just ONE vote. Even a "landslide" of votes from the Rush community won't make much impact. Yes this is true it will not, but still it will show that one vote represents thousands.... It would be a curious blend if standing on stage with Rush on one side Joan Jett and the supposed hate expressed by her because of the alleged incident with Jetts first band the Runaways, Heart on the other side Ann Wilson who not long ago said that Rush should be inducted.
  3. Gemari 77 & Geddy Rulz express my feelings on the matter completely with there excellent post so I really don't need to repeat what they already said. But I will add that with my decision and desire for all dedicated Rush fans to vote them in. Were making the ultimate statement and giving the hall a big middle finger showing we have Rush's back. The powers that be would be overjoyed if the fan vote turned out low for Rush. Hear Jann Wenner now "You see we gave the fans a voice in the decision and most agree with us that Rush doesn't belong..." Being nominated and us getting the point across with our vote is all we can to do for closure. Rush don't make the cut, so be it done our part. Just as good carrying the tradition of NOT getting in..
  4. Look at this OUR vote counts who gets in!! Time for a landslide!!! VOTE!!!!! http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/vot...uctees-20121004
  5. I really got tired of the encore end of show medley It was the same for years, besides In The Mood, 2112 parts I & II others also(which allude me now) they seemed to never change or try anything different through out the 80's. But now I would be in in the mood to hear" In The Mood" again.... and then again "Here Again" would be awesome also this day and age for Rush to perform live... never will happen.
  6. QUOTE (goose @ Sep 29 2012, 05:39 PM) QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Sep 29 2012, 12:21 PM) As is Caress of Steel since I don't think anyone really knows what it's supposed to mean. Fingers on strings. See them bow there heads to die, thought I read somewhere meant head on the chopping block... La guillotine claims her bloody prize. Which as it turned out to be, Rush really stuck there necks out on this one, close to self inflicted career suicide. btw.. love this album it gets my vote as coolest title Farewell second which the cover to me as a Pink Floyd Animals Industrial vibe to it.
  7. Great pics, one thing I noticed those first pictures of Geddy from the top of the page, That crest shirt he's wearing pretty sure Alex wore same shirt Time Machine tour last year in Cleveland.
  8. QUOTE (eshine @ Sep 22 2012, 07:33 PM) At the Vapor Trails tour in Milwaulkee, I was seventh row on Alex's side and this complete drunken douchebag behind me would just not shut the f*ck up and kept tapping me on the shoulder to talk jibberish through most of the first set. Next thing I know, I feel something warm on my leg and low and behold he was full fledged pissing right then and there... on my leg Took everything in my power not to clobber him, but I knew it get me thrown out, so I had to get security to toss him out. It was a pathetic scene. That's horrific. What a unbearable repulsive act, being at such a joyful occasion to have this loser do this. I really don't know how I would respond but I'm sure I couldn't stay even after I "sanitized" myself in the restroom. The night would be ruined and probably I would leave. Disgusting slob I also would've wanted pound his head into the pavement.
  9. QUOTE (Mystic Rythm @ Sep 17 2012, 09:43 PM) I'm a white male 45 and got wasted at my first (Moving Pictures) Rush show. What I don't get is how anyone can still do that at this age now. It would take me a week to get over anything beyond a buzz. Yea it's a rock concert but really? You spend that kind of money to get stupid at a Rush show when you can do it for free in a million other places. Grow up and show some respect for the guys performing not to mention the people around you........ jusayun. This..
  10. I wouldn't qualify it as wanting to meet , or a brush with greatness. But as a kid leaving Fawcett stadium after the HOF game in Canton, Howard Cosell shoved me as he was making pushing his way through the crowd with police escort to his limo. Big ass stogie jammed in the corner of his mouth bitchin up a storm complaining for people to get out of his way. On the subject at hand, I would just be happy with a meet & greet smile and perhaps a hand shake. Afraid I'd bumble nervously trying to piece together meaningful conversation and regret it later. Like Chris Farley would say... stupid! stupid! stupid!!
  11. QUOTE (gangsterfurious @ Sep 16 2012, 03:36 PM) QUOTE (softfilter @ Sep 16 2012, 12:29 PM) QUOTE (gangsterfurious @ Sep 16 2012, 01:19 PM) my favorite baseball team. You poor tortured soul.. Oh you have no idea.... I might... Been to just one game this year on Easter Sunday, us and about hundred close friends. Were in bad shape but hey we won today came from behind even. Tribe always play with slightly more energy when all there fighting for is to stay out of last place.
  12. QUOTE (gangsterfurious @ Sep 16 2012, 01:19 PM) my favorite baseball team. You poor tortured soul..
  13. S&A tour at Blossom six rows back pavilion Geddy side, a group of crew cut frat boy's decided to mosh and being idiots in general. I don't mind people having a good time getting into the music like you should. But don't interfere with others enjoyment and getting in there personal space. Getting plowed at a Rush concert seems like a waste of the whole experience and someone being in there 40's-50's embarrassing and juvenile. Sure i acted this way... when i was 18.
  14. QUOTE (gangsterfurious @ Sep 10 2012, 12:33 PM) I wish they would add some more stuff for us girls. Quite frankly I think the shirts they offer for women aren't that great, and thongs, come on... Who is going to know I'm a Rush fan if the only other items I can buy are a thong? Gimmie a break. I dunno, I guess if you have someone special in your life.. Someone would! Agree they don't seem to put much effort in merchandise for the female fan. My wife gets the guy t's anyway cause she never likes what they have either for girl fans.
  15. The more I hear about people complaining they need "hits" in the list the more I'm looking forward to the Q Cleveland concert! There's some great tunes from the 80's GUP on up would love to hear live again especially deep cuts rarely played. I know there's plenty of standards I'm bored to death with.. ... But will enjoy never the less...
  16. QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Sep 15 2012, 02:49 PM) QUOTE (Tony R @ Sep 15 2012, 12:26 PM) QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Jul 19 2012, 01:37 PM) QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Jul 12 2012, 09:57 PM) Has it ever occurred to anyone that it might not be the fault of the producer or engineer for whatever you feel is wrong with this record? Nothing is wrong with this record. The so-called audiophile experts on this site don't know the difference between analogy and digital. They think vinyl is mastered like a CD. Some people just need to feel important so they run their mouths and other who don't know any better buy into it. THIS. RECORD. ROCKS. Period. Nail missed, thumb sore. If you prefer your tenderloin of beef smothered in ketchup good for you, but some of us have more refined tastes. Yeah, what he said! Do you have any Grey Poupon?
  17. QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Sep 14 2012, 10:03 PM) Casual fans aren't true fans! Plus I would think Rush has far less casuals than a lot of other bands. Our reputation to the general public is a hardcore, rabid fanbase. And a minimum of 5 to 6 thousand a night wouldn't be too shabby after 40 years. If only they were playing at 5 to 6 thousand seat capacity arenas instead of eleven to fourteen thousand seat capacity arenas.. All of this negative stuff early on in the tour, Set list bitchin, poor sound mix and less then full attendance one huge bummer.. Really is a surprise with CA being one of there best albums in years thought this tour would carry the trend from Time Machine crowd wise. It does look that the Q show in Cleveland will be around 7,000 just like Vapor Trails in 2002. Man that's depressing, but going have a great time besides can't wait!!!
  18. Ohhh The Tickster was tongue in cheeky with this thread. And here I responded in a serious manner which makes it even funnier. What a damn fool i have been, swindled by sarcasm....
  19. QUOTE (zappafrank @ Sep 13 2012, 01:15 PM) QUOTE (softfilter @ Sep 13 2012, 01:10 PM) I can see the day after the Cleveland concert the topic going the same way. Lower bowl only filled, "Because it's Cleveland" And Cleveland also important to Rush. Yeah, but in that case, I mean c'mon... it's Cleveland. Well.. Kiss my PITTS burgh!!
  20. I often wonder if in the very near future would it best if they just put out album and have a very limited tour, not like Floyd with The Wall but maybe just some regional stops numbering around 20? You know Neil would be all for that!
  21. I can see the day after the Cleveland concert the topic going the same way. Lower bowl only filled, "Because it's Cleveland" And Cleveland also important to Rush.
  22. Checking seats available for Oct.28th concert at the Q in Cleveland, looks like the same pattern. Just the lower bowl selling But floor seats appear to be sold out.
  23. QUOTE (USB Connector @ Sep 9 2012, 02:29 PM) QUOTE (softfilter @ Sep 9 2012, 03:11 PM) Some sweet shirts indeed, but is it me or do they have less variety then they had on previous tours? In terms of color? Yeah, normally they have a few shirts that are other than black for guys. Now they have some random red bee and a grey all over print. I know it says blue but it looks grey. Well I never thought about that, but I was thinking there has been more variety/ choices in different shirt designs previous tours.
  24. I love how we annoy rock hall selection committee members just by our loyalty. Damn it!!!! listen to me you nerds quit liking them so Rush will go away!!!
