  1. Oh wow, I do remember how quick they sold out( and lucky) me and my friends were to get tickets for RTB. Had to of been the first night? It was one of my favorites ( not the album) but performance wise they were really jammin and seemed to be having a good time might of been the first time seen Neil smile, which I didn't see again til the 30th anniversary tour. :P
  2. I was at the Blossom Show, my memory is vague about the odd scheduling. For some reason I was thinking there was scheduling conflict because the circus was in town playing Richfield, and seeing that Kiss was playing on June 9th i was right.. Really probably what scotts posted seems the most logical explanation, demand had them play another night in the area. So since the Coliseum wasn't available the next night played Blossom on the 10th(which was probably booked on the 9th also). ... That was a regular occurrence Rush playing multiple nights in Cleveland.. :sigh: my have things changed, perhaps that was the last time they did? I can't really remember them playing two shows here on tours afterwards? ?And I'm thinking Presto tour the first time Rush played Blossom at least as the main act. And I've seen every Rush tour that came to Cleveland since 1980 and know seen majority of tours at Richfield and Presto Blossom first time i seen them play there. Then of course R30, Snakes & Arrows seen them at Blossom..
  3. I have the bandana hanging in my basement room. :)
  4. I ( slightly) agree you can become sick and tired of hearing a certain band and build a dislike completely from radio over saturation. AC/DC and Metallica is that point with me talking about But certainly Rush is no longer in the heavy rotation for the last 15 plus years...
  5. Wearable ( even though I don't) Test For Echo. I have reproductions Caress, Farewell To Kings,Hemispheres, Presto( my original Presto tour tee is framed along with moving pictures and grace under pressure) Funny i just recently found my KISS Dynasty tour tee, wow it really shrunk since 1979
  6. When ever I read these overzealous negative tirades bashing Rush for some deep down reason it brings me satisfaction. Good, good your aggravated and annoyed by Rush's popularity and devoted fan base! Rush is for select "individuals" who seek a higher standard of quality and intelligence. You don't get it??? Mission accomplished :)
  7. Just curious, was the Calder Cup in da house? Belated congrats to the Griffins... ;)
  8. Geddy has always been aware Rush playing in Cleveland, :P when they play at Blossom (Cuyahoga Falls) Geddy usually will say hello Ohio!!!... I think he could get away with just fine saying Cleveland or more technical, Akron. I do remember many years ago Fleetwood Mac playing Richfield Coliseum Scene magazine complained in concert review that coked up Stevie Nicks kept forgetting where they were playing and thanking the crowd as Cincinnati
  9. Movie theaters?? I know Rio & Time Machine were shown at selected theaters across the country for a limited time.
  10. I made Rush mix tapes for most of there library up to Vapor Trails. Only pre recorded Rush albums i purchased on cassette were Permanent Waves & Presto. And only because they were in a bargain bin at K-Mart. :)
  11. Participated in the poll, but not strongly latched on my five choices and instrumental. I could replace many more with songs from the list, Last year's Angels tour with most of Clock Work and nice slice of S&A, Signals, Power Windows made one of the more interesting and refreshing Rush tours in years. However the lukewarm response( at least in my neck of the woods) majority don't like change and want to hear all of the staples. Btw - When first reading post headline thought it was about Rush playing the Staples Center in L.A.
  12. I would like to know the story how these reply's came about. Did he persistently write to Neil for autograph, to get that annoyed response? And I'm guessing that this was done during the Moving Pictures tour era go along with concert photo. Neil's response seems legit at least, can see him writing that. Geddy's little more suspect maybe his or someone working in Rush management signed for him.... Watch pawn stars & hardcore pawn often know important big wigs have this practice done for them.( Presidents, heads of state, members of world's greatest rock band etc etc) :P
  13. I believe Presto tour Rush was scheduled to play two nights at the Richfield Coliseum but the circus was in town 2nd night( strange priorities) Rush got bumped and played Blossom Music Center instead. Which i attended best seats ever had for Rush 3rd row center stage. :)
  14. The only thing that i might agree on i guess ,is the sonic issue of clock work ( loudness - compressed) Only because the audiophile experts have spoken on here numerous times about this. .... But it sounds ok to me but what do i know. :P
  15. Agree some of the comments are beyond necessary to get the point across..However at the same time, you should search youtube and see "Cherie Currie on Rush" .Might find some of the comments here appropriate, after hearing her moronic drivel. :boohoo: :boo hiss: Tried to post one here , but lately been having problems posting youtube clips on TRF.
  16. It was ok. It barely held my interest - it just got so depressing and vague towards the end, I didn't care about any of the people and it was filmed really dark and dingy. The documentary on The Runaways "Edgeplay" is actually well done, yeah there manager comes across as a low life pervert. Completely naive and gullible due to in a large part there age when they started, Runaways didn't have much experience in anything dealing with being in a rock band and what to expect once the hard reality of touring set in. I like couple of there songs catchy, even if they were lightweight, propped up gimmick mannequins . :P
  17. Might of been interesting if Joan Jett & The Black hearts made the cut for rock hall.. Something tells me Rush would've kept in different circle during ceremony, curious if they so happened to run into Don Henley?
  18. Really? I remember a smug grin on Geddy's face, I'll have to watch again. I'm pretty sure Neil and Ged knew exactly what he was going to do though! They obviously HAD to know going in what was going to happen. First off, you're accepting a major award in front of thousands of people (and millions on TV) - you at least have a brief conversation about it beforehand. Secondly, Geddy & Neil would have been laughing or reacting more strongly if it came as a complete surprise. Obviously, they knew. And besides, Alex had obviously practiced that. It wasn't just blah blah's, he was telling a whole story. Yeah, I guess they probably did know Alex was going to let loose on a La Villa Strangiato style rant, but perhaps he kept his bandmates in the dark of the content. Either way sure Geddy & Neil were expecting and "now something completely different" from Lerxst. And it's disrespectful for me to think this way, but I still believe at one point in Alex's summary of Rush's journey reaching finally to the rock hall..( btw, my last post on here,YES i stated it was a story not just blah blah blah's) ;) that Ged seemed to want to exit the stage, but sure him and Neil had fun with it never the less...
  19. Alex was brilliant, the way he really did explain his personal feelings( c'mon it wasn't that hard to decipher) the story of Rush and the Rock Hall" wait" through the stages of blah blah blah's. ;) Maybe they should of made his narrative with a interpreter and had it closed captioned for the easily offended to follow along.... But you know watching the expression on Geddy's face he looked like he wanted Alex to wrap it up!!
  20. Which is funny!! :ebert:
  21. "Trouble with our gear so our sound check got delayed".... Ummmm Yeah, Joan Jett pissed on them! :eyeroll: :P
  22. This is a tongue in cheek funny made on behalf of rushgoober for those who thought Alex's blah blah's was disrespectful.. Well done realistic and uncanny accurate no doubt what Wenner, actually thought!!! :P Although completely on opposite ends of the spectrum I would think John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols had a smile on his face if he heard Alex's "statement" acceptance... ;)
  23. I guess if your talking about the here and now.... But Michigan (Detroit) Illinois(Chicago) Ohio (Cleveland) were Rush hotbeds in the 70's- 80's. And they still have hardcore fans in those locations. I never completely bought in the idea that there inclusion in rock hall means increase of popularity and new fans. It's just that longevity brought more media exposure recognition to there music and loyal fan base that's been with them since the beginning...
  24. the worst part is that both these statements are recycled from the 70's and haven't really been true for decades.. Yes, it's all pretentious....... :eyeroll:
  25. Good Stuff! It always did it for me after a long night of :smoke: :hail: Many rough mornings woke up with my late 70's pioneer oversized head phones wrapped around my head and pillow turntable Fly By Night still spinning. Last song remembered before i passed out... Rivendell :P
