  1. Welcome to Rush Fandom -- it's a good place to be. One tip I will give is that some Rush songs take a few spins to finally click with you, but you may have already found this out. And I don't know if you've really explored the lyrics for many of these songs, but that's another level to Rush's music that can take you down many rabbit holes. Also, once you really learn and get into the songs, then you have the live albums to check out, if you haven't already done so. Enjoy the ride!
  2. Great photo and all four of them looking quite good for their ages. Legend might be an overused term these days but it fits these four to a T. Man, just imagine the stories these guys could share about the things they've seen and experienced over the years.
  3. Looks like they only do digital copies of any new issues. Just an idea, but If you can get a decent sized digital copy of the cover you could always have it made into a print at a local Walgreen's or similar drug store (depending where you live), and then frame that instead.
  4. I completely understand your dislike for the RHCP as they're definitely not for everyone. I think part of the reason Chad is included here is because he was a fan of Neil, and he has a friendship with Alex. And, of course, the celebrity drummer aspect was a factor. Shortly after Neil passed, The Drum Channel posted a short tribute by Smith about Neil. I never realized he was such a fan of the band and Neil's playing. It may be worth a watch if you've never seen it, and it might at least make watching Chad in the documentary a little more tolerable.
  5. The Sphere is a large, sphere shaped venue in Las Vegas. It has both an external and internal video screen. It is used for concerts, among other things, and some musicians have taken up short residencies there where they'll play shows for a month or so. The large, wrap around screen can make for quite the immersive experience. The place also has it's controversies as a losing business venture, and also some of the seats can have blocked views. Tickets for shows here are also VERY expensive, even in today's high priced market. You can see more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphere_(venue)
  6. Wow, based on the trailer this looks to be better than expected. The footage with the other drummers they bring in to play with Alex and Geddy looks very cool, not to mention the selection of drummers. Good point. I can see that. I'll admit I was playing semantics a bit there with the disciple thing. The director's meaning of "no one's disciple" being Neil chose his own path.
  7. Same here, also with crossed fingers. Thanks for the update. The tracking for my package to LCA showed it was delivered around noon on Wed. the 26th and accepted at the mailroom, so at least it wasn't rejected.
  8. (warning -- SPOILERs below) I attended both Detroit shows and going into them I knew I'd be emotional since I find that I often have to wipe a tear or two away every time I watch a great video from this tour. I think it comes with old age, realizing how vital this band's music has been in my life for 40+ years, and also a bit of sadness that Neil's life was cut way too short. The first night was more emotional overall, and while I didn't break down in tears, I did well up a bit during two parts of the show, especially: 1. In Freewill when Geddy absolutley nailed the "Each of us..." section, and the crowd gave him a huge cheer right afterwards. Amazing. 2. During The Analog Kid when Geddy sang the lines, "You move me — You move me — With your buildings and your eyes Autumn woods and winter skies" Such a great lyric from Neil, and sung so beautifully by Geddy. That one hit pretty hard.
  9. Looking forward to seeing this! I get that they have to pick a title, and it's not bad at all, but wasn't he somewhat a disciple of Freddie Gruber? Or is that a stretch?
  10. Another classic. I remember learning about this in the original Rush FAQ https://www.rush-oddities.com/rush-oddities/audio/the-camera-englishmen.mp3 'ello 'morn, guv!
  11. This is a blast from the past! Love seeing old school websites like this are still around the web.
  12. Gary Graff of The Oakland Press wrote a pretty solid review of the Friday show (love the photo to headline the article as well) https://www.theoaklandpress.com/2026/08/29/rush-offers-significant-changes-during-second-show-at-little-caesars-arena/ And I like his opening line about the setlists. Not something you'd normally hear mentioned about a Rush tour:
  13. Great show on Friday and I can't complain one bit! Quoting myself above, looks like all the bolded stuff came true. Oh, I was wrong about the setlist variations in Philly -- it was not 13 different songs, just 9, but still solid variation. To those with tickets in hand for future shows, you are in for a treat.
  14. I attended the first Detroit show and have tickets for tonight, so it will be interesting to see what we get. I like how even though there is a basic, core group of 4 setlists, each one has a variation so you never know exactly what you are going to get. This is both a treat and an extreme rarity for a Rush fan going to multiple shows. I'll be happy with anything, of course, but hoping for Headlong Flight, By-Tor, and The Trees tonight, and possibly AFTK as well as Detroit #2, likely my last ever Rush concert. I'm going to both gigs with a lifelong friend, and we caught our first ever Rush concert in 1984 on P/G. They played zero songs from that album at the first Detroit show so I'm expecting DEW or Red Sector A tonight. Lastly, based on Philly nights #1 and #2 they played 13 different songs between the two shows, so that's pretty good variation.
  15. Thanks for the warm welcomes, all!
