  1. Didn't even know till I read this......
  2. Well, it's yes to the final one, but that was due to the fact I was trying to get with this really fit girl who loved them...took her to see them (slippery when wet tour) and it was predictably hideous...worst thing is, I got nowhere with her...bah! I actually saw them again at Donnington Monsters of Rock and have fond memories of them being pelted with clods of earth, rocks and bottles of piss.
  3. A trend I've noticed is that you post random questions once in a blue moon about subjects pertaining to the R30: 30th Anniversary World Tour video. Hopefully you can be more active and contribute something to the forum. Who cares?....he's not obliged to alter his posting habits to meet your requirements.
  4. I suspected as much, but really cool to see it all laid out and explained by the man himself.
  5. I suppose the closest thing to perfection I could come up with would be Gretchen Goes To Nebraska by Kings X...it's not quite there but it's pretty damn close. Moving Pictures makes a good case for having the perfect album side with side one.
  6. A guy who was one of the biggest Rush fans I've ever known, said that Remain In Light was his all time favorite album. As for the OP, There are only a few albums that I can genuinely say I like all the songs equally but the one that comes to mind is the blue album by Weezer. At least that was the first one that fit the category for me. So for you perfect means you like all the songs equally, interesting! To me it's really nothing to do with that. I certainly have to like all the songs, but not equally. I hear you, but surely that is breaking the definition of perfect?...as I undestand it, I would have to think every song on the album was perfect, as you cannot have a fraction of perfection if you see what I mean....In addition to the songs being perfect, the arrangement and pacing would have to be so as well..In addition to being a highly subjective measurement I just don't think it's obtainable.

    Hating Rush

I think it's because they were just uncool, nothing more complicated.....their music didn't have enough bump n' grind for the average listener, and a key area no one seems to mention is that they seeemed to alienate women...As we are all aware, trying to get laid was a major reason for going to concerts back in the day, and seeing as a Rush audience was pretty much a sausage fest then that was a big reason for blokes to give their music a body swerve......I certainly remember when I was a young man back in the 80s if I was lucky enough to get a girl back to my place, you can guaruntee the last things going on the stereo were Rush albums!

    Rush and Rand

I've always thought that Objectivism, though it makes some valid points, is rather two-dimensional and falls apart quickly under scrutiny....I wouldn't like to live in a society that was governed by it's tenets, as they would go catastrophically wrong pretty quickly.
  9. This may seem lame but have you tried herbal tea? I have used the Sleepy Time to help relax before bed and it did knock me out. Also ask if you could take some melatonin? I use that a lot and it helps me nod off real quick. :hug2: Herbal tea doesn't do a thing for me and melatonin keeps me awake all night. That's too bad... :sigh: I hadn't tried melatonin until last year, sometimes it doesn't work for me but most of the time it helps. Thought it might be a long shot. Melatonin whist useful for some situations is pretty much a waste of time if anxiety is the root cause of sleep deprivation.
  10. Just to check.....are you still taking your Ativan in addition to Temazepam?...Ihope so, as if you are anxious,a Hypnotic (sleeping tablet) will only help a little.. Another thing to address which has been touched on is Opiate addiction....this will not happen if being used for pain, as they bind to different brain receptors than they do if used for recreation.....it's possible you could buil up a "tolerance" as time goes on but that's no biggie as the dose can simply be increased. Watch out for constipation as opiate dose increasesm and don't be scared to use laxatives etc.
  11. MUCH better, you should notice a fair old difference with these...I did think of Promethazine, but was unsure of US prescribing guidelines If you begin to feel pain relief isn't cutting it, then there are further options which will allow you to remain at home ...don't suffer unneccessarily.....in the 21st Century there is no reason for anyone to be in undue pain, whatever the cause...Keep on keeping on Lorraine, lets get you that Christmas you want so badly..
  12. The tramadol helps the pain. I have morphine if I need it, but I don't need it if tramadol does the trick for now. My pain is centralized all around the same area and moves from one side to another, but it is primarily in the lower right side, where the tumor was/is. I need something stronger to help me sleep. Sleep is essential for me. They gave me the lowest dose possible for Ativan, but I'm taking 3 to go to sleep now, and 3 aren't cutting it. I am calling Hospice this morning. Hospice is well aware that I chose this route so I could be comfortable, pain-free, so as to enjoy as much as I can whatever time I have left. So I am sure they will give me whatever I need to achieve that. It is very sad though that this is going a lot faster than I thought. The hospice inter-faith chaplain is coming over today, and I have much to speak to her about. It's hard for me to look at my beautiful sunflower plants right outside my window and realize that I won't be here next summer to see them. It's hard to stay strong when I'm emotionally falling apart. My husband isn't much emotional support (somehow he thinks if I get a good nights sleep, all will be well), and my friends have family responsibilities and I don't want to impose too much on them. Impose away on your family, I garuntee they won't mind Tramadol is notorious for causing nausea/vomiting thoughit is good pain relief...I know that in the UK they often go straight for Morphine Sulphate tablets with oramorph liquid for breakthrough pain You need something better for sleep ...Lorazepam (Ativan) is not a sleeping tablet but an anxiolitic (same family as Diazepam) which is for anxiety, not sleep I'm sure the Hospice will sort things out for you meds wise.....perhaps a change in antiemetic as well?
  13. Right, haven't been round here much which is inexcusable really. Lets leave aside the utter shit sandwich ofyour situation right now (and believe me, I'm gutted for you) As I see it, you have two needs right now, and that's pain relief , and somethig to stop you puking. Where is the pain, and how bad is it?...what medication are you getting?....if oral, maybe it's time to consider injections. Same with anti-emetics, maybe what you are getting is just not cutting the mustard, especially if you are getting metronidazole (flagyl) Your immune response will not be great atm, which means that oral meds may not be so effective. You may well be offered steroids at some point...I would consider them, as if nothing else they will improve your feeling of well-being....lets be blunt, we're not really too concerned about long term effects here, are we? Hop this gives you food for thought, you know me, I'd rather try and offer something practical if I can rather than just sympathy (though you certainly have that too) Try and stat strong, and grab any chance to make this time easier....
  14. He specifically requested that you don't double post....you either don't give a f**k or didn't understand......... I'll wait for EP to sort the list out before I post as I can't be arsed to fix your mess :-)
  15. But they have far too much facial hair...... The Monkees didn't have any facial hair... So by default I like them more than the Allman Brothers.
  16. But they have far too much facial hair......
  17. :moon: Certainly not me...... Yeah, I dunno. I've seen all the docs over the last few years in theaters, and they were always an awesome experience. But with rising cases and this being an indoor thing... it's nothing to do with Covid...I won't go because I think it'll be shite...... Such in inveterate curmudgeon. LOL All the RUSH Docs are awesome, you should at least get the DVD. You can always return it like a thrifty Scott. :moon: Scott is a mans name...I'm a Scot, thank you very much.... :moon: And it will be shite
  18. Boston - More than a Feeling It may not be the very best of all the songs but it has all the requisite ingredients of what makes classic rock "classic"
