  1. Depending on how he takes care of his voice, he could have up to another 10 years of quality vocals. If you contrast that to the opera world, tenors start going downhill at about 65; baritones about 70; basses about 72-75. Based on how they tour and days of rest between shows, he should do well. These guys know their limits. One of the key factors of being a professional musician. Personally, I can't wait until 2014 for the R40 Tour. R40 Overture: In The Mood Fly By Night Lakeside Park Something For Nothing A Farewell To Kings Circumstances Leading into Freewill How's that for starting off the show?!
  2. Accoustically it's not the best place, but the seats are great! Chicago is a great city & you'll really enjoy yourselves. Let me know when you arrive & I'll give you the 5 cent tour! You'll have loads of fun & it's a hilarious concert!
  3. Sure! Why not! It's the funniest Rush concert yet! As Geddy put it at the 1st Chicago concert..."Welcome to the stupidest show on earth!"
  4. I agree it's an act. He did it on S&A DVD once. Joking about getting old I guess. Beware of seniors bobbling!
  5. I guess the drum solo it is then! DOH for me!
  6. By chance has anybody heard this one yet?
  7. Since there's no real place close by to meet up before the shows, how about "a wee bit o tail gating" in the parking lot!?
  8. How about all four parts of the Gangster of Boats Trilogy!?
  9. True Rush fans wouldn't make any derogatory comments about any of their albums...Excuse me, CDs. I agree some aren't as good as others, but I like each and every one of them in their own way. In other words, some more than others. "And that's all I have to say about that!"
  10. I'm leaning towards a Moving Pictures theme as well!
  11. I bought my Chicago ticket on Saturday and started thinking about what they would open the show with. After going through several maybes I stumbled across this idea. A theme and variations of the R30 show. TIME MACHINE OVERTURE: In The Mood Fly By Night Lakeside Park Something For Nothing Closer To The Heart Circumstances Leading into Freewill. OK, commence with the arguing!!!
  12. Hey boys & girls! I can get away with that because I recently became a full deck (52)! And, I've been a fan since the beginning! Anyways, who's up for a gathering somewhere prior to the show! Grab a bite to eat and a beer or two or...! Any suggestions on where to meet? I'm from way out in suburbia...Elgin!
  13. CUT TO THE CHASE!!! NICE & HEAVY SONG!!!
  14. As Sebastian Bach (he's 41 today) said on Vh1 recently. "You need a separate Ipod for all of your songs!" I know I would if I wanted anything else on my Ipod! Of cousre, I don't own 1 in the 1st place anyways! HEY! Waddya gonna do?!
  15. She, along with you and all of your family will be in my thoughts & prayers! I can only hope and pray for the best! A couple of suggestions, try contacting the boys mangement company SRO for some help. It could never hurt. Also, post it to other Rush sites, such as rushisaband.com, etc.
  16. Someone mentioned earlier about the guys doing a tribute song for the rest of the tour. I don't think that they'll go that far. Most likely they'll just make a statement in the Toronto Star and their website. If they were to do a tribute song, my thinking is that it would be something from the debut album. Perhaps Working Man or In The Mood or Finding My Way. I would also guess that it would be a gesture from Neil to Alex & Ged as well. However, as nice as that would be, I doubt it.
  17. My heart is saddened by the loss of John. Without him and subsequently Neil, Rush wouldn't be where they're at today. I'm sure that you will all take a moment out of respect for him and thank him in your own way for not only his contribution to the band in the early days, but also his life as well. Hopefully, he's in a better place now. It's a little scarey for me, because he was only 5 years older than me, so it's another wake up call to be sure that we take good care of ourselves regardless of our own personal heath situations.
  18. Hey! If we all chip in a couple of bucks, we could do a time share thing!!! LOL!

    Fly By Night

I'm gonna guess there's 2 reasons why they haven't done it in so long. 1st, they would have to transpose it down as much as even a 5th. Maybe a 3rd, but since it was in the "upper register" to begin with, I'm betting on a 5th. 2nd, if you watched the documentary disc from Rush In Rio, you'll remember Ged saying something to the effect of there are certain songs they would never play again. (Paraphrasing) "I'm sorry, I apologize, but there's no way I can play that song ever again!" But then again, like with everyone who's responded to this..."Your guess is as good as mine!"
  20. HEY LADIES! YEAH, I'M A GUY, SO DON'T BE ALARMED! I guess we're all alike to one degree or another. You can't live with us or without us, and neither can us "boys"! HEY! Whaddya gonna do? Now children, that's a whole different story. First of all, they are grandparents revenge. Secondly, sons give moms the gray hairs and daughters give dads the gray hairs (or baldness in many cases!). That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it!
  21. If you read Ghost Rider (the book), you'll get a better appreciation for the lyrics. It talks about Neil's inner "selves". I also think it has something to do with them getting older and they just keep on rockin'. I love it!
  22. Although both have spoken to me when the timing couldn't be more right, based on what I was going through in my life, I have to lean towards Vapor Trails, because I could really empathize with Neil as to what he was going through then as well.
