  1. This is the first new Peter Murphy I've heard since the 90s (I used to be a big fan but drifted away for awhile). Yeah, his voice is still great. I thought on Hang Up it sounded very raw—reminded me of Bauhaus or even some Killing Joke stuff. His voice on the other songs on the album trailer sound more like his older solo stuff. Thanks for posting this! Funny you should mention it but the new album is produced by Killing Joke bassist Youth.
  2. His voice is amazing, if not better than ever. He has brought some of his old magic back to life with this new release . New Song Hang Up: Album Teaser:
  3. Peter Murphy in a small bar/stage for his new album coming in June - Here is a taste of his new music:
  4. Greatest Cochella moment ever - Bauhaus, Peter Murphy hanging upside down as the Count singing for almost 10 frickin minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNl1ekVL6Qs
  5. Divergent - Wife made me go.
  6. New season, this one has been moving a lot faster than last years. Lots of action and twists. History channel doesn't hold back showing just how ruthless those sons of b's really were.
  7. And what might a Sling box be? It's a digital box that allows him to stream anything from my cable to his house 4 miles away. The box is hooked up to my cable dvr box and all he has to do is sign on the internet when at his own home and he has full access. He can watch everything except pay channels for free. http://reviews.cnet.com/video-players-and-recorders/slingbox-500/4505-6463_7-35484603.html
  8. My son hooked a sling box up to my cable for streaming at his house now he doesn't pay jack, just his internet fees. I think i'll start charging him half rates :P
  9. Disappointment is the first word that comes to mind. First the annoying imagination ship then the cheesy cartoonish graphics when animating history. Expected far more in the year 2014. We all know first impressions are everything and they didn't make much of one tonight which could really hinder their ratings. They needed to grab you from the beginning and enthrall you to the end. Neither happened.
  10. 30 minutes in - Not impressed at all. Big Disappointment so far.
  11. First 15 minutes sucked - This annoying damn fake futuristic ship flying around is a big nuisance.
  12. Last week was amazing. I think this is McConaughey's best acting yet. I remember when he was younger I couldn't stand him because he was in all those chick flick movies. Now I'm hooked and can't turn it off.
  13. For the first time in their lives I took my 8 and 6 year old grandsons to the Lego Movie - It was a major laughfest. My wife warned me you will get absolutely nothing out of the movie. I can now say i've taken my grandchildren to the movies, once.
  14. Damn - So much more he could have given to the entertainment world. He was one of those actors that you could stick in any movie even in supporting roles and his performance would put that movie over the top. :|
  15. No reviews yet? Not one of us has watched this?
  16. Cumberbatch - How can you say no to "Smaug" and the Necromancer
  17. I have the Roku 3 - Love it - Worth every penny of it. We have Amazon Prime and Netflix. Many of the free movies and tv shows are identical but netflix seems to have a little better selection but carries only a few new titles. Netflix is $7.99 a month. If you want to add receiving movies in the mail to get the new releases and a broader choice it is another $7.99 a month. So for $16.00 you can have both which is still a lot cheaper than blockbuster was and they didn't even have streaming. As for Walking Dead, the first three season are available to stream. We pay almost $330 a month for premier cable and internet. But we have two grandchildren we have to entertain, uh er spoil. It's worth it.
  18. Damn that sucks - I'll have to sneak a monster in and drink it at the 2 hour mark cause i dozed off in the first movie.
  19. There is hope!!! The initial reviews are very promising. Rotten Tomatoes has the Movie at 80% right now with most critics agreeing it is a vast improvement from the first debacle. :ebert:
  20. BTW...here's something I hadn't seen before: Everything wrong with part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LDhsH79jAY Pretty funny! I could easily watch the entire movie played at double speed to the Benny Hill Theme
  21. We just watched the extended version of fellowship tonight, it's been a couple of years since we watched it. Conclusion: The emotion and feeling the "fellowship" exudes far surpasses the cold and lifeless effort that the first installment of the Hobbit was. We decided it was a combination of two things, the characters and the music. In the LOTR trilogy, both those elements were seamless almost flawless. However, the Hobbit failed to create characters that compelled us. Sadly I actually found myself hoping in some implausible way that Gollum would get the ring back from Bilbo. And then there's the recycled music the Hobbit borrowed from the epic trilogy which I found to be very uninspiring, they crammed it into scenes which had no connection to the scenes in the original trilogy. That pissed me off. Regardless, i too will shell out the $40.00 to go see it in IMAX, and vainly aspire that it will somehow be epic.
  22. Captain Phillips - Last 20 minutes super intense - The lead Pirate actor was incredible -
  23. I had to remind myself to breathe on several occasions, It's that damn intense.
