  1. My God, these guys have been around for a looooong time! I remember when I worked in a record shop, we stocked the first album (women holding a chainsaw on the cover). That wasn't yesterday!! ..... I was attending Uni at the time!! I still have a vinyl copy knocking about the attic somewhere.
  2. My daughter has just informed me that I am going to be a Grandfather for the second time! Baby due in March.
  3. Another good man gone. An integral part of the Heep during their classic years. RIP Lee.
  4. Sometimes ... after a few beers... this is how I see myself ...
  5. You could pop over to the UK and Ireland while you were visiting. I could do that. And while there, I could pop in and visit you and the Missus. Indeed! ... We would be happy to show you the sights of N. Ireland!
  6. I like it, it has Fly By Night, Circumstances, Twilight Zone and the Necromancer. Not the usual run of the mill choices. Just looked at the track listing of this..... very strange indeed ...... with The Necromancer included on the CD version even stranger!! That's what you want though! Did you ever buy Rush Through Time? That's a cool compilation with an unusual track listing. I remember it ... but I had all the albums to date at that time so didn't buy it. It would have made a great starting point for someone you wanted to show off Rush to for the first time. I got it anyway and I listened to it. It got me more into songs like Best I Can and Making Memories and the Twilight Zone. I think there was a picture disk of it as well

Did you ever buy Rush Through Time? That's a cool compilation with an unusual track listing. They should release a one song album which compiles every first note of every Rush song ever made. Limited release it on vinyl. Colored, black, gold, whatever. Some would buy it because collectors are collectors. There are some folks called "completists" who will buy anything they can find that a particular band puts out. They usually have multiple copies of everything. I was married first time round in 1981 so any such extravagant notions for me went straight out the window!!

  10. I'll go ZZ Top with all three, primarily because I am much more familiar with their stuff whereas I have only listened to bits and pieces of SRV.

  12. For me it is Somebody To Love with Tie Your Mother Down a close second.
  13. Any list where Grace Under Pressure is lower than #10 is considered an abomination in my book I considered lower but was feeling charitable
  14. 1. A Farewell to Kings 2. Hemispheres 3. Moving Pictures 4. Permanent Waves 5. 2112 6. Fly By Night 7. Caress of Steel 8. Signals 9. RUSH 10. Clockwork Angels 11. Counterparts 12. Power Windows 13. Vapor Trails 14. Hold Your Fire 15. Grace Under Pressure 16. Roll the Bones 17. Snakes & Arrows 18. Test For Echo 19. Presto
  15. Before I die I want to live to be 100
  16. I've never seen them live ...... we had tickets to see them in Vegas earlier this year .......... Covid-19 made sure that didn't happen. :boohoo:
  17. Hahaha! "Undercooked" and "Overbaked!" Reminds me of Michaels' new threads today! LOL! Classic! Just like "Caress Of Steel." So I will admit I think I goofed. My top three RUSH albums are: HEMISPHERES GRACE UNDER PRESSURE CARESS OF STEEL I love the Dark Side Of Rush. Hence I'm also a Star Wars Dork. Can't stand Star Trek but I don't hate it. Grace Under Pressure in your top 3 Earl? There's much new wave in it for me and there's some real stinkers like The Body Electric, Red Lenses and The Enemy Within. I'm surprised you haven't got 2112 in there! It must be too metal for you! Here's my rankings: 1. A Farewell to Kings 2. Hemispheres 3. Moving Pictures 4. Permanent Waves 5. 2112 6. Caress of Steel 7. Fly By Night 8. Signals 9. Power Windows 10. Hold Your Fire 11. Clockwork Angels 12. Vapor Trails 13. Counterparts 14. RUSH 15. Grace Under Pressure 16. Snakes & Arrows 17. Roll the Bones 18. Test For Echo 19. Presto Who the hell puts Grace Under Pressure at #15? That's where it belongs! Simple rule of thumb - When the last beer is one too many, and the next beer is one too few .... How many tracks on COS can you 'air guitar' around the house to like a crazy fecker??? ...... Loads!!!! How many tracks on GUP can you do likewise to??? ...... Bugger all!! I rest my case m'lud. What's your RUSH album rankings? After some deliberation - 1. A Farewell to Kings 2. Hemispheres 3. Moving Pictures 4. Permanent Waves 5. 2112 6. Fly By Night 7. Caress of Steel 8. Signals 9. RUSH 10. Clockwork Angels 11. Counterparts 12. Power Windows 13. Vapor Trails 14. Hold Your Fire 15. Grace Under Pressure 16. Roll the Bones 17. Snakes & Arrows 18. Test For Echo 19. Presto The top 5 are set in stone ..... some of the lower down rankings could go up or down depending on my inclination at the time. It's pretty much like mine. :haz: Top half certainly ..... and whilst you are not quite as aged me, I suspect your taste leans more towards the good old days of the '70s heavy Rush era as per myself!
