  1. No probs Earl. I was meaning to start a Dead Daisies thread ever since Glenn Hughes and Deen joined the band. I have one of their other albums from 2016 with Jon Corabi but it sucks. I hate Corabi's voice, singing style and vocal melodies, and the songs are shit. I had high hopes with Doug Aldrich in the band but even he doesn't seem to step up, it's a meh performance from Doug. I could only stand to listen to it about 3 times. It's so bad that even when Glenn joined the band it took me months to dredge up the interest in it. Castronovo is another great upgrade too over Brian Titchy. I think the new lineup in a lot ways is a natural move - - I saw Aldrich play with Glenn Hughes in 2015 in The Limelight Belfast. They worked well together. (We were front row in front of Aldrich - deaf for a week!) - I then saw Aldrich with the Dead Daisies (Corabi on vocals) in 2016 again in The Limelight Belfast and he slotted in nicely. - So it's a kinda natural progression that Glenn Hughes joins the Daisies. (For how long is anyone's guess - he has itchy feet!) Bonamassa was good but I think Aldrich is a more natural metal guitarist and is a better fit. Castronovo is a great acquisition - a fine drummer It's a pity Mendoza is no longer with them - he is a super bass player and backing vocalist I can't really say much against David Lowy - he is now the only constant member and probably payrolls the band, so fair play to him. Technically it is probably 'his' band. By the way Aldrich is a really nice guy - we met him in Vegas (he was playing in the Raiding The Rock Vault Show) and he spent a bunch of time chatting and letting us take pictures. Met him again in Belfast and again he couldn't have been more friendly.
  2. Then it would be Alex and Geddy going through a greatest hits set ...... not Rush.
  3. What Alex and Geddy need to do now is to spend more time curating the Rush 'vaults' and deliver us hungry fans super duper extras for upcoming anniversary editions - starting with Moving Pictures ...... a couple of full set soundboards please!!!!!
  4. I only really know Don't Tread On Me, Coming Of Age and High Enough so have voted accordingly.
  5. Perhaps when time has healed things, Alex and Geddy will perform together again ......... just not as Rush. That would neither be cool nor appropriate.
  6. A band moving on a similar trajectory to Opeth are Enslaved - have you guys heard them? They supported Opeth the last time they played Belfast.
  7. Cool! So I'm not sure if they're using 2003-era songs or using 2003 guitar parts with new ones or what. Should be interesting ..... hope it doesn't just sound like an outtakes album ...... hopefully not. You mean like Stiff Upper Lip, Black Ice and Rock or Bust sounded? :LMAO: Certainly Stiff Upper Lip and to a lesser degree Rock or Bust had mostly fillers and are both quite forgettable.. At the time I thought Black Ice was ok but I was probably getting carried away by the fact that there hadn't been an album in an eternity, and it was cleverly marketed. In hindsight it has one or two highlights and the remainder is padded out with fillers also.

  9. I will always choose Xanadu. When I first heard it I knew it would always be with me. A masterpiece.

  11. Well..... it is chucking it down with rain here .... so this will give me something to think about for the next couple of hours.

  13. The one before this (Feast Of Consequences is equally as good.) I think all of his solos albums are great except for two or three and one of those was his covers album which was hurried to get out there to raise money. Feast of Consequences is very good. I also particularly like Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors, Sunsets on Empire and 13th Star.
  14. Agreed. It's gorgeous. I have been listening to this quite a lot - it keeps getting better. Each time I get a little something I hadn't picked up before. Most of my favorite albums are exactly like that. Yeah ... it's great when you play something and suddenly you go 'hey! I didn't pick that up before!' It's what good music is all about!
  15. This is pretty cool .... I could see this very nicely on the wall in my den!!
  16. Really? You wouldn’t be able to even muster a half-way decent “Hello. Nice to meet you?” http://image.shutterstock.com/image-vector/emoji-starstruck-face-stars-instead-260nw-1181030008.jpg Paul? http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/24900000/Paul-starchild-78-paul-stanley-24925882-699-1024.jpg You called?

  18. If I met Alex Lifeson I would be your typical gob-smacked, speechless fan-boy!
