Hey Zepp are you a member of the Guitars101 board?
Yes, I use it occasionally. I got some decent Rush & Tull bootlegs there.

Often overlooked behind Duane & Gregg, Dickey was a real driving force within the band. A great songwriter and a fine guitarist.

Note for note on all instruments and vocals! This guy is a freak.
I haven't listened to it yet but if he is note for note on all instrumentation and vocals do I really need to bother?

Are you grabbing this one?
Probably not. The MSG show is tempting but probably not enough to make me buy it.

I would like to find out how much of this is from the Heavy Horses Anniversary edition. I'll likely get it but still need to balance how much new material to justify the $.
A little surprised they chose to re-visit Bursting Out as Heavy Horses really seemed to cover it.
I've never really been able to find out exactly which shows were used to compile it (other than that Berne May '78 provided some of the tracks - but i just don't know how many). There may be a few tracks live from Germany also. TBH the inclusion of the entire Berne show on the Heavy Horses Anniversary addition pretty much supersedes Bursting Out in my eyes.
However the addition of the MSG October 78 concert in a couple of formats, make it all worthwhile for me!

She's like the Randy Rhoads of pseudo soul singers.
But, but, ... Paul slips his rose tinted glasses on ...... Randy was a guitar god, Amy was a p*sshead.

I agree with Segue Myles .... she was huge in the UK.
She wasn't my cup of tea but Back to Black is regarded of something of a classic album.
Sadly it was so evident that she had her finger over the self destruct button that when her death was announced (another entrant to the 27 club), it was no great surprise.
A career of two studio albums isn't really enough to gauge how good she could have been.

What about DIO??
I loved Ronnie but I always thought he had a single minded approach, rather than a particular 'chemistry' with his fellow bandmates.

In terms of chemistry within live performances, Rush, Zeppelin, Purple MK2, Slade, Grateful Dead, The Who all spring to mind.

What about if you put him against Iommi, Blackmore and May?
That would indeed be a 'clash of the titans'!!
Having said that, as much as I really like Queen, and May as a guitarist, I didn't idolise him the way I did Page, Iommi and Blackmore. Those three are guitar gods in my eyes.

Well now that I've heard it, I can say for sure it's a great album! And the bonus tracks are just as good as the other tracks. The Lodger is playing now and it has elements of Alice Cooper, David Bowie and Queen.
Agreed.... the band (what should be their twilight) produce a real classic!

I am not meaning to disrespect him in any way, but from a purely personal perspective, unless he is bringing something new to the table, I will probably just stick with the originals.
