  1. I think that the ball can touch the ground as long as the receiver doesn't use the ground to help him do so. The bobble happened after the ball had touched the ground and the runner was down. According to what I know (which isn't definitive by any means), he should have been ruled down inside the 1. This was the original ruling. Then you have the bias against overturning the call on the field, and I was surprised it was overturned. I have the feeling that over the next 24 hours we'll all become more knowledgable about the details of this situation. Read the actual rule. It was not a catch. Easy peasy. Oh yeah, but Randall Cobb can pick the ball up off the ground, and it stands as a catch. Give me a break. Dez's play was incomplete. Don't whine like an Eagles fan. It wasn't a catch period. The "football move" argument is just an excuse for the NFL to make it up as they go. There is no standard by which to make that call. It is just an excuse for the NFL to manipulate the game. This is just as bad a call as was the Calvin Johnson 'process' call a few years ago. It was complete bull shit then, it is complete bull shit now. It has nothing to do with the teams involved. On the other hand, when Randall Cobb picked a ball up off the ground, there WAS a standard that was simply ignored. So there, instead of manipulating the game based on a nonsense open ended rule that really doesn't mean anything, they just ignored the rules in favor of the Packers.
  2. This may be the worst post you have made on TRF ever. Did you not listen to sports talk radio at all last week? Fans around the league had that opinion about the Cowboys with the "not a penalty" call. Sounds like someone's bias is showing, and it's pretty sad too. You're usually a pretty level headed guy, and this post was off the f*cking rails. Again, I have absolutely no love for the Cowboys. But I do hate the Packers. I had no dog in the Detroit game, and I think the 'not a penalty' call was spot on. In fact, I don't think offensive PI would've been uncalled for there. The NFL made many bad calls in that game against Dallas, all of which have been overlooked. The same goes for the a Green Bay game. While Randall Cobb was allowed to pick up balls off of the ground and have them ruled catches, Dez Bryant's clutch acrobatic catch was overturned when it most counted. Fact is, the NFL doesn't care which teams win or lose as loyalty is concerned. They care about the direction of gambling revenues. Dallas was a huge underdog from the start of the season, and the NFL does not want them to succeed for that reason. Next year, when the odds are in Dallas' favor, I bet we see more calls go their way. And no, I haven't listened to even a second of that tripe on sports talk radio. Sports media, aside from the events themselves, is the most cringe inducing, self aggrandized, sycophantic slop on the American airwaves.

  4. I'm really tired of the NFL handing everything to the Packers on a silver platter. And it's becoming apparent to me that they don't want the Cowboys to win... so whatever.
  5. No part of this post is correct.
  6. Suh should not have been held. He should have been back at home watching on TV.
  7. No. Thats defensive pass interference, and a penalty/personal foul by Bryant coming on the field without a helmet. Not even close. Your looking at that like a typical Dallas fan. After the dream ends next week it wont matter anyway, the chief choke artist will be back in full force. I love how everyone is coronating Dallas after that weak win. I'm a Dallas fan now? Funny, I always thought I hated them. I hate Dallas and Detroit about evenly. I had aboslutely no dog in that fight. Still doesn't change the fact that Hitchens had his hands up, and Pettigrew had his hands on Hitchens. "like"... "like" - take it easy bro. no one said you loved dallas :) hate detroit? thats like hating the cubs or the edsel! lol. They're the dirtiest team in the league. What's not to hate?

  9. First of all, it was running into the punter called on Dallas, there were less than five yards to go which is why it was a first down. And the play where the Lion touched the Cowboys punter...he tried to hold him up. That one wasn't even close. The call against Hutchings where they picked up the flag is called DPI 9,999,999 Times out of 10 million. Man, if you think the Detroit tackle on Dallas' punter "wans't even close", you're abandoning any objectivity here.
  10. The refs in this game were biased in favor of DETROIT. Not Dallas. Dallas won in SPITE of the NFL's best attempts to slant the playing field. The PI flag was picked up with good reason... Pettigrew was making as much contact with Hitchens as vice versa... you want to know why Hitchens didn't make a play on the ball? It was because Pettigrew was pulling his helmet away from it. His hands were up as he was being pulled by Pettigrew for that reason exactly. If they'd thrown the flag for Offensive PI, I think it might have been warranted.

  12. Does this graph account for all the TRF members we've lost to Ebola, or are they still figured in?
  13. Sorry I didn't see this til now. I haven't been super active here lately... and when I am, it's pretty much just in SOCN. Thanks everyone!
  14. Jurassic Park 3 was much better than Lost World. It sort of gets a bad wrap.

  16. Oof. You're right. Potato salad is bad. And by extension mayonnaise. Some of the nastiest shit ever invented along with ranch dressing. Now hold up, I like mayo on some things.

  18. I like Mashed Potatoes just fine, but that being said, Mashed Potatos are probably my least favorite preparation of Potatoes.

  24. One less caution, and Ryan Newman would be our champion. Love the run by the 31 team. I hope they take some strong momentum into 2015. But I can't complain about Harvick winning the title. He's a deserved champion. I hate the chase, and this should've been Jeff Gordon's year... but Harvick was robbed of one in 2010 so I guess it shakes out... at least for Harvick. Congratulations to Kevin Harvick on his first title. Congratulations to Ryan Newman on a stellar runner up performance, showing consistency still counts. Congratulations to Jeff Gordon for accumulating the most points in a season for the 7th time in his career, matching Petty and Earnhardt. ...and lest we not forget how satisfying it was to see Joey Logano bounce off the wall on his own, then to see that jack drop. Love it!
