J. J. Abrams to direct 'Star Trek 11' *UPDATED*
KenJennings replied to Jack Aubrey's topic in Video Vertigo
QUOTE (rushengal @ Apr 21 2006, 01:08 PM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Apr 21 2006, 01:15 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 21 2006, 11:31 AM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Apr 21 2006, 11:34 AM) A 2008 release is scheduled for the new Star Trek film. Jack here: Do we really need this? 10 'Star Trek' films and the only one worth watching is Khan. You know it's true. Have you not seen "First Contact?" Nope. I've seen 'Khan', the one with the whales which was ok, and part of a really stupid one with a fat bald guy that was supposed to be Spock's brother. After that, I gave up on 'Star Trek' movies. I've never been a fan anyway. #5 is by far the WORST Star Trek movie ever. It makes Nemesis look good! (And I'm a trekkie!) I liked ST:V I don't see why it got such a bad wrap. My favorite was Generations though. Nemesis was terrible, mostly because the director they had was a pedantic hack. First Contact was a really good *movie*, but I don't think it was a great *Star Trek Movie*. I guess i'm saying it just didn't have that Star Trek Feel... You know... the Clean and Dry feel... It could've used some dryers.[/geddy] First Contact was just too dark, dreary, and non-trekky. But then again, all of the Next Gen movies have been a little too dark. Both physically, and emotionally. -
I LOVE NexGen. It had some of the best characterization and chemestry of any show EVER, and it really was well written... It's too bad they killed the spirit of the series with their last two movies. I want some closure damnit!! "The Sky's the Limit."

Watch Happy Gilmore on USA... lol "The price is wrong BOBBY." "Gold Jacket, Green Jacket; who gives a HOOT." "I eat peices of SCUM like you for breakfast." "You eat peices of SCUM for breakfast!?"

I can sum up what makes this place great with one word: Respect. The rest of the internet; nay, the rest of the world; lack's it. Rock on, TRF!

Why do women hold such grudges? If men have something to deal with, they just get it out of their systems, then drop it. Women don't shut up and form weeklong, monthlong, yearlong, and lifelong divides. I recently got in a shoving match with a friend of mine, and two days later, I heard he wanted a ride home from a party, and went to pick him up. We've been fine since. If we were chicks,i'd be talking behind his back right now, and bickering 24/7. Why stay mad at people? If you're mad at someone, duke it out, and leave the problems there. Sheesh.

QUOTE (rushgoober @ Mar 30 2006, 05:09 AM) Mr. Deeds with Adam Sandler I thought was partiuclarly stupid and awful... I though Mr. Deeds was a fantastic movie. Not only did it have a good "slapstick" aspect, it had a really cute plot. I know it's based off of an older movie, but it was done well. I remember when I first watched it in the theater, I thought to myself, "I want to be like Deeds." He was the perfect character.

Wouldn't it, more properly, be "Buenos Noches, Meinen Freunden!" It's been ages since I took a German class.

I let my sober friend drive around on my four wheeler. He crashed. I think, as wasted as I was, I would've stood a better chance.

QUOTE (tick @ Mar 17 2006, 08:23 AM) well , less then two weeks untill i see dream theater for the first time. i have awesome seats ! ( paid enough for them.) i just talked to a buddy of mine who saw them two nights in L.A. last week and what is cool is the set list was quite different than the one R.R. saw in bogata. i pumped cause now its not like i know what there gonna play. if anyone has seem them resently chime in . ken jennings , how was the show you saw ? Well, DT played perfectly, but the mix was terrible. LaBrie's voice got totally washed out by guitar. My only other complaint was the lighting; it was way too much. I had some kinda extreme light-related vertigo after the show. All in all, I was pretty well pleased though. I would recommend, definately.

Billy West (The Voice of Fry), via his forum, has leaked the fact that Futurama is on the way back: QUOTE And the other good news is that they're doing 26 new episodes of ''Futurama'' for TV and we're hammering out the deal now. Source (look at the second post in the thread.) Glad to see it coming back; hopefully they didn't lose any of their funny during their hiatus.

Sleep in til 10:00am. Make some pop-tarts. Already took the day off work. Go to office party at noon. Stop off at the liquor store at 3:00pm-ish. Watch some TV until about 5:00pm Carefully fill my hip flask with something strong. Store in Pocket. Catch a bus at about 6:00pm, head to downtown Minneapolis. Leave the Bus at 7:37pm outside the Minnesota State Theater. Take my seats for the Dream Theater concert at about 7:45. Drink my flask during the show and enjoy the concert. Catch the light rail as soon as the concert is over. Meet up with some friends at Hooters for a late dinner. Get a ride home from one of them. Sleep.

QUOTE (daveyt @ Mar 10 2006, 09:14 AM) QUOTE (KenJennings @ Mar 10 2006, 12:17 AM) QUOTE (Arndrake @ Mar 9 2006, 04:02 PM) The reason local government gets involved is because local businesses, who influence the local goverment, don't want stores like Wal Mart around. They can't compete with the low prices, so they try to keep the stores away. A similar issue has been happening in Redmond, Oregon for the past few years. I'm sure it's happening in other locations all over the country. So... we're to penalize the successful because the little guy wants a shot? I've never liked this argument, we're a free market economy. plus with all the competition it just gets too confusing Competition: K-Mart, Target. The free Market always balances out in the end.

QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Dec 13 2004, 12:22 PM) I love Wal-Mart. It's close and it's cheap. Win-win. Agreed, Wal-Mart is an excellent store. My local Wal-Mart has been wanting to expand to a Super Wal-Mart complete with grocery store and Liquor Store; city hall has been holding them up. I really wish Local Government would stay out of it.

Behind Forward I never watched the sun set in ways beyond divine. Of life's great majesties few of them were mine. I'm proud of what I am yet unsure of what I was. As, life's days pass within me my greatness is because of life I have not lived yet, but hopefully I still will. The rest of my existence is still beyond this hill. -Dan Moritz -------------------------------- A Delightful Narrative of the Many Personalities Within the Mind of this Poem's Author. "Let's go hunting, and watch some racing cars!" "We need to do our taxes! Our money's stretched to far!" "You guy's shouldn't worry, let's go buy some shoes!" "The Vikings play this Sunday, I hope they do not lose." "I hope they do." "Shove it." "Both of you quit fighting, now shake hands and make up." "I need a glass of water, who's stolen my cup!" "Quiet, i'm writing this poem, I really need to think!" "Should I cook italian for dinner, or would the garlic stink?" "I want to live my life, move out and move on." "I want to stay back at home; live with dad and mom." "Now where to find a date." "On a Calendar?" "Oh, funny." "Where are we, anyways?" "Why don't you stop and ask for directions?" "NEVER!" "...Men..." "...Women..." "Jeez, this thing started out rhyming, but it's really lost it's touch." "Let's all get some drinks, on me." "OK" -Dan Moritz
