  1. Music Today had a deal for their pre-sale where if you bought tix + a merchandise package, you would be entered to win a Meet and Greet, one winner for each of the concerts. I was one of those that snagged that bait and when I emailed MT asking about how the winners would be announced they responded that only the winners would be contacted. Hmmm... to me that is no fair deal, the winners should be made public so that everyone who entered knows that the contest actually took place and that there ware actual fair winners... don't you think? Anyone else enter this "contest"?
  2. Thanks for the updates. I also got my shipping notification email from mt. I actually got this merch set hoping to get a chance on the "meet and greet" contest but no luck so far. I emailed them asking about the contest results and they answered that only the winning individuals would get notified and that the results will not be made public. Hmmm... when the results of a contest you enter are not made public, it makes you wonder if the contest was fair or even if there were any winners at all, don't you think?
  3. I'm also waiting... I can't believe they did not ship these items before the tour started!
  4. For those of us not attending opening night and wanting to know all the SPOILED details... it would be nice to get a live report of the setlist and other stage surprises as they happen tomorrow night. Any tech-enabled volunteers?
  5. I purchased my tickets through the Musictoday site, along with the T-Shirt & Water Bottle Bundle, and the deal advertised was that by purchasing these items together, one would be entered into a contest to win a "meet and greet" with the band as well as a chance to win an autographed collection of all Rush tourbooks. Did anyone else enter this deal? Has anyone heard about the shipping of the merchandise, the meet and greet contest or the chance to win the tourbooks from musictoday? I only got a confirmation email from them at the time I placed the order when the pre-sales came out but have not heard from them again. I would imagine that with the shows starting in a couple of weeks now, they should have started to at least announce the winners for the meet and greets for the first few shows... anyone else with me on this? thanks.
  6. I ended up with two extra tickets for the Houston show, if anyone is interested. These are Section 101, Row N, seats 3 and 4. 13th row from the pit, about 17 rows from the stage. I am asking for face value + service fee + delivery cost, just what I paid for, nothing more. If interested, please send me a Personal Message here: PM animateme http://mmoran.webs.com/Rush_Houston_Tickets.jpg
  7. QUOTE (nobodys hero @ May 5 2010, 09:04 AM) Yesterday Music Today refunded my 4 nosebleeds for Red Rocks. How did you manage to do this???? Can you please share?
  8. Thank you all once again for sharing your experiences and suggestions. I am certainly confident now that I will be able to sell those tickets. The strategy seems to be to offer them on the forums, then, if the date approaches and I have no response, I can post them up on eBay, Craigslist or Stub-hub. If I am not lucky by the day of the show, I'll just show up early at the gate and I'm sure I should be able to close the deal that day. Thanks again for your great comments! Greatly appreciated.
  9. QUOTE (CountFloyd @ May 3 2010, 02:57 AM) everyone that has a pc anywhere in the U.S. can be a "Broker" now... But how do these "brokers" get preference to get a hold of so many good tickets? Do they have to enter some type of agreement with TM? Or, is TM in on this "legal scalping"? It all sounds like a big mafia...
  10. QUOTE (Prince of Tyrus @ May 1 2010, 10:42 AM)Did anyone even see sections 101, 102, or 103 come up in the public sale? All I was able to pull was the back of 106 or 104 and 111 (Extreme angles) For the musictoday pre-sale all I was getting were either the far back sections or the front 101 and 103 sections but far on the sides. Never did I see a section 102 offer and believe me, I tried many times for quite a while. For the public sale, all I was being offered for regular tickets were 104,105,110 and 111 sections, which are the back, extreme side sections. The CITI special tickets were all only in the 107 and 108 sections but towards the center/back rows. Never was I offered anythng in the 101,102 or 103 sections! The mystery here is, what happened to these front-center sections' tickets? Were they all VIP seats? Are they maybe blocked for now and will be released later on as the date approaches? I'm assuming that everyone else experienced the same, right? From all the time I spent trying to get tickets during the different sales and ticket options I can't believe that never did anything close to decent came up ...what's the world coming to?!?!?!
  11. Thank you all for your great comments and suggestions. Based on the confidence you gave me in that I will be able to sell my spare tickets, I went ahead and got another couple of tickets when the public sale started. Unfortunately these other seats I got are also not what I was hoping for in the first place (front section, center) but at least I now have two choices to pick from: 1)Close to the stage far on the side, or 2)Not so close to the stage but right in the center. From all your comments it seems like there are several options to offer the tickets, forums, ebay, stub-hub... My concern now is how to finalize the deal. Should I ask for money up-front and hope that the buyer trusts that I will hand over the tickets? How would that usually work? My problem here is that one set of tickets will be fedexed to me until 2 weeks before the show (musictoday) so I won't physically have them with me until then, and the other set of tickets are Will Call (ticketmaster) so I won't be able to have them until the day of the show. From this, if anyone is willing to buy my extra tickets they will have to trust me that I will provide them by the show day (and I will, of course) but how do you ensure such a transaction? Anyone ever sell tickets that you still don't have in your hands? Thanks again.
  12. I got a couple of pre-sale tickets for the Houston show that I am not too comfortable with and I am thinking about maybe trying to grab 2 other tickets when the public TM sale opens, if I get anything that I like better. My question is, if I do purchase the 2 extra tickets, will I be able to sell the other 2 at face value easily? Has anyone ever sold extra tickets either through the forums or at the venue the day of the concert? I would just not want to end up with the extra tickets and not be able to sell them... Thanks for sharing any comments on this.
  13. QUOTE (ashpkt @ Apr 30 2010, 11:33 AM) QUOTE (animateme @ Apr 29 2010, 10:31 AM)Thank you very much ashpkt, if you are able to post those pictures it would be great. I surely would appreciate it to get an idea of the view. 1st pic is without zoom. The others have some zoom. As you can see, only 2 of the 3 screens are visible from center of row R in sect 101. You can see, just not the whole stage. Another issue I have is the priximity to the stage left speaker tower. It's not that it was too loud, it's that you here it on your left and not so much on your right but, that's to be expected I guess. Thank you for posting the pictures ashpkt. This certainly helps me to get a good idea of what to expect from the seats I got which are 3 rows ahead of from where you took these pictures. I just might try to get other tickets that are more towards the center, even if they are further back. Anyone interested in these 2 Section 101, row N tickets? Thanks.
  14. QUOTE (ashpkt @ Apr 29 2010, 07:20 AM)QUOTE (animateme @ Apr 28 2010, 11:47 AM) askpkt - to you comment about having "been there and they aren't that great", would you say that these row 13(?) side seats are not good? Will I be getting a blocked view and maybe miss part of the back screens? Given that I am not that familiar with the Woodlands Pavillion I would appreciate your comments based on your previous experience so that I can decide if I should look for better tickets or settle with these. Thank you. I sat in 101 row R seat 11, 12 for 08 leg of S&A and took several pics. I'll try to dig them up and post so you have a better idea of the view. Thank you very much ashpkt, if you are able to post those pictures it would be great. I surely would appreciate it to get an idea of the view.
  15. I placed an order on the Musictoday Rush Store (http://rush.shop.musictoday.com) and when I login to the store website and click "Order Status", I get: "No orders were found. Any recent orders take a few minutes to appear on this list. If, after a reasonable amount of time, your order has still not appeared, please contact merchandise@musictoday.com." It has now been over 24 hours and the order still doesn't show up. I have sent them the email and am currently waiting for a response from them but until then, I would like to know if this is just me or is anyone else having the same issue? thanks.
  16. QUOTE (ashpkt @ Apr 27 2010, 01:19 PM)I refuse to pay $300+ for side section seats...been there and they aren't that great. Same here, I was only getting either center-far-back or closer to the stage but on the side. I of course panicked and ended up getting the side seats. These are row N and are almost at the side-edge, 2 seats from the side-aisle. askpkt - to you comment about having "been there and they aren't that great", would you say that these row 13(?) side seats are not good?
