  1. great track! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhwPa9yIshw Many humans on here have ripped "Scars" apart. It's a masterpiece track and Neil's drumming is once again off the charts. I am sure you real Rush fans know that Neil likes to throw the "Scars" drum pattern in his solos sometimes. Bloody Brilliant. NEIL PEART RULES. Indeed, absolute masterpiece and interestingly probably only Rush track that would go down great on a nightclub dancefloor. All 3 superb of course but noticeably Al given so much space like never before to just float around between ged's bass & keyboards and Neil's beautiful percussion, just a few seconds where he lets loose, Rush at their creative best Couldn't have put it better myself! For me, "Scars" is undoubtedly one of my favourite tracks off "Presto"...it just shows Rush's versatility as a band...I have always appreciated the rhythm of that track...the bass and drumming are stellar! And yes, I do feel like dancing to it! The moment Geddy said "Hey" and started off with that bass beat, with Neil chiming in, I knew that it was going to be something fantastic, yet different at the same time! :D

  3. It's Friday night here. Having some beer and unwinding. Also, Monty Python is keeping me company at the moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PCqmrZhokk
  4. Th impact that Neil had was tremendous...such a beautiful human being. I could actually sit through that beautifully poignant video....I tried once before, but I failed miserably! My sincere and heartfelt thanks to RushCon for compiling that! I will never forget the morning of the 11th of January, 2020 when I heard the news...I cried in bed that night...not ashamed to admit it! It has been more than a month, but it is still very hard for me to accept that he is gone. Another passing that hit me hard was that of David Bowie that took place in January, 2016. I have begun dreading the month of January now to be honest! Sure life is going on...the world is turning...work is keeping me busy, but there are hours of the day when I either think of Neil or watch an interview with him or read one of his books....it will still be a few more months before I will be able to listen to Rush again. I also keep wondering how Geddy and Alex are doing. Am I a concerned fan? Do I feel for those guys? You bet!
  5. Another great article from medium: https://medium.com/@...ro-d2775dfda119 This describes the essence of Neil's character as an individual, his approach and attitude towards life and fame, etc. I'll admit that there is nothing new here, but the way the writer has expressed so many lovely sentiments about Neil just warms your heart! :)
  6. Wonderful interview with Neil: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_mKr28G7og No words. Huge loss. Still feeling it everyday.
  7. You're very welcome! I'm glad it did! :) And thanks for the tip! There is nothing more that I love doing than listening to Rush! :D I am still finding my way through the grief at the moment. It is taking me a long time to heal from his passing, but I am not surprised at all to be honest, given his profound impact on all of us! I'll probably never fully heal from the shock. Do take care of yourself and do log on to the forums whenever you're feeling down. I do whenever I am feeling down about Neil and it is very therapeutic!
  8. You're very welcome! :) And I felt the same way about that photo too! :D The moment you look at it, you think to yourself, "Now this is a guy who put his heart and soul into his craft!". This is probably the most inspiring photo I have seen in a while! Whenever I feel down and out and unmotivated, I just stare at that photo for 5 to 10 minutes and I am ready to take on the world! You can see the passion while he thunders on with that gorgeous drum kit! Boy! Were we lucky to have existed when Neil Peart existed!!
  9. Hanging in there. I admit that I am still really struggling with this. Neil made a much bigger impact in my life than I thought. It became all the more real and brutally final when I watched that wretched "In Memoriam" segment at this year's Grammy's. *Sigh! :( Anyway, here is a lovely tribute for everyone to enjoy: https://www.theguard...er-appreciation It is an old piece, but it made me smile, so I thought that I'll post it here.
  10. Still finding my way through the grief. It was a double whammy for me when I heard about Terry Jones' passing. The grim reaper has been a sick, sick bastard this year! This helped me smile a little...
  11. Sorry for duplicating this post on another thread, but this is just so sweet and beautiful!
  12. The Grim Reaper has been a downright bastard this year! I knew this was coming, but I didn't know that it would come so soon! :( RIP Terry! Thanks for all the laughs through the years! Say hello to dear old Graham for all of us!
  13. Started reading "Ghost Rider" today. It remains one of the most candid memoirs I've read so far. I'll admit that I only started reading Neil's books from this year. Didn't quite have the time until now. It is proving to be therapeutic in a way. I do like to get into his mind, to be honest. It is very intriguing to read his thoughts.
  14. I really do not understand the need to profit from a band that one supposedly admires. For instance, I am fortunate enough to own a print signed by Alex himself of his beautiful painting "Aquarium", courtesy of the Kidney Foundation of Canada. No matter what my financial situation may be, I will NEVER EVER sell it! It is a family heirloom now as far as I am concerned. I will proudly pass it down to the next generation and will most certainly educate them about Rush. I think people's attempt to "milk the cow" (so to speak), using the sick and money grabbing mindset that the value of a celebrity's autograph spikes upon his/her passing, makes me utterly nauseous. I do (for instance) cringe at the eagerness of people on the Antiques Roadshow USA, when their eyes gleam upon finding out how much something's worth, rather than taking an interest in that item's historical significance. Sure. Even Alex and Geddy will be benefiting from Neil's untimely passing, but hey, it is their music, you know? So that's different. The behaviour of these money grabbers remind me of the idiots who purchased precious copies of Jimmy Page's photographic autobiography. This was a signed limited edition piece that was published by Genesis Publications. There were many Zep fans who could afford it, but who couldn't purchase it, as copies of the book were snapped up within a day or two from the date the pre-order announcement. Surely enough, within a week of its release, ebay was flooded with listings for this specific book and the asking price was at least 5 times beyond the reasonable range! Disgusting!
