  1. A scented candle. I had a nightcap conversation with my relative (we're both New Thought practitioners) and I went to bed with a candle burning. In my spiritual practice I burn a candle when I need to ...to center my thoughts.
  2. Having to make a dental appointment. With age those become less fun. Sigh..................
  3. The nice thing about a band that great is everyone can admit how exceptional each musician is....
  4. Years ago my dog had a massive stroke at age 14...I had him put down humanely (vet's office.) I couldn't handle the thought of having a lingering confusing death. He lived his best life. Sounds like your parents gave that dog a good life. That's something to treasure. I'm sad about the impending demise of a business mentor of mine. He survived Vietnam so I know he doesn't fear death, & getting old has been hard for him. Off to Valhalla with my man G. Also sad about another mass shooting. UGH can't even go to Wal Mart to run an errand without worrying about some nutcase whipping out a gun and making chaos for exactly no good reason. What is it with these guys picking Wal Marts to attack? Seriously? I hate Wal Marts but I just try to avoid them.
  5. Shoe shopping made my day today. Sigh. I love being a woman.
  6. People at work did. I got to joke with a Mexican guy about Latin American culture. He was amusing.
  7. I thought of her today because I am really in need of the wisdom of someone like her. Sigh. We were lucky to know her.
  8. I was just thinking of her yesterday......How odd this gets bumped on here. Eerie.....
  9. I accidentally found out "SFU" makes people viscerally upset. For most it's the setting (a funeral home) but some also hate the topics covered in the series. Which is fair, most people watch TV for escapism, and being confronted with those things is often not a "good time."
  10. My relative laughed at me for encouraging him to do tax free shopping. (He's on a work trip.) OTOH he never spoils himself. Someone had to say it.
  11. I'm not surprised. "Rules for thee but not for me" is a classic with people like her.
  12. Morning coffee and having a dishwasher that works.
  13. It's really a matter of taste. I loved HBO's "Oz".... Anyone with no comprehension of prisons would probably find that series too much to take. "The Wire" is brilliant.
  14. IMO shut down is good enough. I always had pets lurking so I put away all my electronics.
  15. Most people I know get cheap cords on Amazon or the local computer store. My advice, try fixing with electrical tape or duct tape until you can get a new one. There are cases for laptops that have either compartments or side pockets for cords so you can roll them up and stash them first, before you zip up the laptop.........
  16. Back on topic......there's a low cost or free book app called Libby that probably has good recommendations. Some young readers are very "brand loyal" to certain authors, others prefer audiobooks if they enjoy multitasking or are dyslexic.
  17. Autumn crisp and cool. I'm going to go enjoy it.
