  1. The Crockpot to the rescue again- bean soup.
  2. I've lived at enough crash pads to be good at politely ignoring two people humping up a storm in the next room. My favorite thing is to ask them later "Y'all m*therf*ckers need condoms or coffee? I'll be back soon." Ahhhh humans.
  3. Let's just say the world runs in small circles. My business partner and I met each other due to a misdeed done by a relative of Neil's......... I took all the knowledge I gained from the experience and used it to finish my life's work, which is starting businesses in communities that need warmth and comfort. Love your neighbors and love the ones who need it the most. L'chaim!!!!!!
  4. Neil had more social connections in youth. For legal reasons I cannot say more. In a way, he saved my life. We should try every day to save lives through love. He had a valiant heart. He loved so much. He was a lonely man.
  5. You need to remember that Geddy and Alex really struggled more than Neil did. I will leave it at that. We all wrestle with personal demons. Geddy's book is essentially about his personal feelings and trauma. The charm of the music of Rush is it celebrates life itself and being good to people.
  6. Flex seal is awesome. A 5 minute business meeting made my day.
  7. I'll see this when I can. Zac Efron seems like a strange guy, but I respect him for portraying Ted Bundy. He did a good job.
  8. ................I wonder if they'd be making new music in order to reverse some of the slump the industry has experienced overall, and especially since the Pandemic happened. Also the support people for Rush were always proud of how hard they worked. IE making live music again keeps people employed. I'm not saying anything that has not been said before, just re-stating it.
  9. Bill's way radical now. I do love him for doing "Politically Incorrect." Most of those eps have aged well. In fact Neil Peart is a guest on one episode lol... I'm pissed that I might as well pay for Sirius Radio....The radio station selection here is so dismal, it makes sense. UGH......
  10. ^^^ This. In a world full of unhappiness and strife, Lee and Lifeson making new music would be a nice thing. I think they should just enjoy retirement, but they will do what they wanna do....
  11. Taste is subjective. Let's focus on the positive here- people are listening to Rush..........................
  12. I was under the impression that a lot of political commentators are on YouTube now to avoid being censored or cancelled... I just mention this because I love Bill Maher but he gets a lot of flack.
  13. I always viewed the song as a "wrap-up" statement on the theme of "Vapor Trails" (since Neil was nice enough to explain the genesis of the songs in promo material for the album.) Like, people can be reborn after going through hardship, suffering and depression. Aside from the sadder content on VT, the other themes are about persisting and learning from tragedy.
  14. I'm guessing the stage clothes were sweaty? We were so fortunate to have them.
  15. A kind look from a female motorist made my day. It reminded me I feel welcome in my current community. I cannot say that about places I lived before. I also found a sweater vest that looks similar to one I owned in college. For a moment I was mentally transported back to that time in my life. How time flies so fast.....I bought it (it was on sale.)
  16. Underrated. He invented a chord. Older musicians will freely admit they had less competition in their prime. Someone else pointed out that because prog rock is not a huge thing, Lifeson didn't get mentions or airplay in certain markets.
  17. The realization that the home appliance industry is going the way of the auto industry ("planned obsolence.")
  18. Without going into great detail- drugs were a "social scene" thing back in the day. I have relatives that are very prim and proper now, but- they partied in youth. At some point, they cleaned up, put on business attire and stopped the chemically enhanced existence parade. It happens. We all grow up. Back on topic, all the promo for the book makes it sound like Geddy had to babysit some people in the Rush world, which is fairly amusing.
  19. The decline of civilization............. IIRC heckling and yelling in a theater used to be punishable by getting thrown out of a venue. Back on topic, I think Jack Black is hilarious but I'm immature.
  20. He's famous and wealthy, and he chose to help others via a book and a tour during a time where North Americans are historically alienated from each other. If he's interested he could run for public office in Canada. That would be wild.
  21. An instruction manual for a vacuum cleaner...............
  22. Now would be a good time to trot out a Rush anecdote I've known for decades- A local radio DJ where I grew up got to meet Geddy Lee (a scheduled interview to promote an album)-he said Geddy was personable and fun to talk to, unlike some recording artists. Important to note, this was year ago before the Internet changed the music industry. Rock musicians were often rude, late or unreachable. We are fortunate that Geddy Lee chose to write this book and do a spoken word tour.
