  1. Not much, but there was the 2112 anniversary set. Dave Grohl does a good cover of the Overture. And I got some Toblerone.
  2. Roll The Bones and Presto. Vapor Trails had a few good songs. That or Test for Echo don’t rate high. But there are several albums that did not work for me past two songs. Some albums are entertaining despite having no top 10 songs.
  3. Let's make a strawman out of this. If we allow Moore, Franken et al to be rejected...then eventually all women are forced to divorce their husbands if they ever bought a copy of Playboy (old guys) or enjoyed net porn (young guys). ( I do not support scumbag Moore for anything, I am a leftist extremist)
  4. (Only played Farewell...so far. 2112 for Xmas). OK, it’s fun to have the extended material except the covers. Somehow progressive bands are unique enough that covers sound strange. Whether it’s Pink Floyd or Rush. I can put up with Roger Waters singing songs that were sung by Gilmour originally. I enjoy both Waters and Gilmour doing their versions. But I had a whole Wall tribute album and it was only so so, no matter how accurate. With Rush and Geddy’s voice in my head, I just don’t enjoy the covers. Sometimes i don’t enjoy the originals either. But that’s just Rush.
  5. Has he got any more books? I liked the one where he was driving around, making a sort of soundtrack of a trip. He was on a Jeff Buckley trip I think. I don't read the motorcycling books.
  6. Looks like the 3 disc version is coming tomorrow. My "anniversary editions" albums are restricted to 1.Tull 2 Beatles 3 Rush The main problem with all this fantastic stuff being put out is that I am perfectly happy with two speakers. My bluray is not even plugged in as we do not watch much DVD movies or concerts anymore. I'll be listening to these two, Kings and 2112 only at Christmas as we are a bit frugal these days and that was the extent of splurging this December. Oh I did give a Honda 2012 low miles car to my daughter but only to help her out at new job and she got married. He husband is underemployed and she has the better job at the start of her marriage (at age 22). Did not want to put money pressures on them in this trumpian era.
  7. Had a good day with both of my grown kids visiting for holiday. We went to a football game at their old college but we lost. Dinner: chili and cinnamon rolls.
  8. Foo Fighters would be OK but not on Trees. I think the lyrics are too much in the Peart Randian era, but the song itself is OK. I don't skip it. A cover of it, I would not play it.
  9. Absolutely, the first album of Tull is a different beast from the rest. I liked Glenn cornick on bass.
  10. Heavy Horses...definitely part of the "good" Tull. Career seems to divide up in two parts sort of like Rush. I just have a few tacks of the last 5 real Tull albums, prior to Anderson solo. I have two of his solo works, where he was testing waters. The very last ones are sort of a copy of the Tull, but not quite the same thing. TAB2 for instance.
  11. Just now getting to these. I’ve gotten 3 of the Tull 40th anniversary sets. Mostly for the extra tracks. I have nothing to play the 5.1 tracks on. Then, to sample the Rush sets, ordered the 2112. I seem to have a lot of live Rush material from other aets and DVD. With limited income (retired) I’ve noticed that if you wait a bit, these luxury set were cheaper at importcds.com than Amazon.
