  1. QUOTE (Alchemical @ Jun 13 2012, 08:21 PM) You know you've stumbled upon a circlejerk online when one cannot even express his opinion that may differ from the norm without being lambasted as a dissenter (Read: Troll), or not a "real" RUSH fan. Look, we all dig RUSH, that's why we're here right? But, believe it or not, some of us on here DON'T like the album, and what's so wrong with that? Not everyone is bound to orgasm over CA. Me personally? I dig it but I'm not completely blown away. I've given it six listens and it's adequate, even very good, but it's not a masterpiece in my opinion. IN. MY. OPINION. Got that? I'm just sick of the diminutive minority on here who have legit reason to dislike the album getting shut down by boisterous fanboyism. Let people hold their opinions, kay? I don't see how it is personally affecting you. Yep, it's a Forum and you're going to get lots of varying opinions. That's what this place is for. People are passionate about their bands and they're not afraid to let the world know.
  2. Thanks for the replies everyone. You all get what I'm saying here. For me....It's been on repeat play at my house all day, and it just keeps getting better. I love this record, it's really something special. Sounds great to my very trained and professional ears too! So there. Rock On!
  3. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jun 13 2012, 01:43 PM) QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Jun 13 2012, 03:24 PM) This a record that will probably take most people at least 5 listens to come to a honest conclusion. While I fully expected a lot of negative posts after the release of this record, I didn't expect the "i just listened to the cd and it sucks, the sound sucks, i can't hear this or that" posts. This record has a lot going on, it takes a few listens to soak in. For the love of RUSH... Just Shut Up and Listen to it !! I agree but I hope it wasn't RushHead666's thread that inspired you to make this one. Earl, always goes over the deep end on everything, that's just his style and that's why we like him. He'll come around, don't worry about it. Who's RushHead666 ?
  4. Awesome man! Great story. I own an 8" Celestron Ultima 2000, fully computerized. So I share your passion, for both astronomy and Clockwork Angels. Keep looking up!

  6. Purposely didn't listen to Any leaked songs (or any songs) until I got my cd yesterday. The sound quality of this record is fine. It's clean, loud and I don't hear any audible clipping. The mix is really good overall. -Drums don't sound as good as they did on Snakes and Arrows. -Geddy's bass is amazing on this record, best recording ever. -Vocals are also recorded as well as I've ever heard. -Lots of guitars going on, and they all sound great and in-your-face, BUT Alex's solos are a bit unstructured with too many effects. All those effects take away from the in-your-face feel you should get from a guitar solo. Don't understand why he uses all those effects on solos, or why he doesn't write more structured solos. Oh well, it's Alex. All the rhythm guitars are killer. -Strings and Keys are great all around. -All performances are outstanding. -Some of the vocal phrasing seems to struggle though. Gets better with more listens. The more I listen, the better I like it. This is a record that needs to be listened to a few times before making conclusions. I'm on listen #5 and starting to "love it"!
  7. QUOTE (MUSICinTheABsTrAcT @ Jun 12 2012, 11:46 AM) QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Jun 12 2012, 02:30 PM) Just curious here...this means that the record label has submitted a 96kHz master to this site for conversion to Flac? If so, how are you sure? I would hope that what they're selling is Not just an up-converted rip of the CD. It's a valid question, especially because high-res album versions aren't normally released the same day as the standard CD. Roadrunner records reported, some weeks back, that HDTracks.com was going to be the venue for the high-res release . . . http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2012/04/clockwor...eleased-in.html That's what I wanted to see. Thank you!

  9. If you have the chance to see this tour, Do It !! It's truly amazing and a masterpiece of technology. Best concert sound ever (it won all the touring awards), and the visuals and projection technology is one-of-a-kind. Keep in mind, this is Not a rock concert like you might be used to. It's a theatrical production on a huge scale. Go to The Show at all costs! I'm so glad I did. Btw, there are tons of you tubes from this tour. Watch them and decide.
  10. I hope Everyone reads this article. Some great stuff here about the making of the record.
  11. Maybe Neil will do his solo on top of The Wall .... oh wait, wrong concert. Seriously though, I'm hoping for huge production on this tour.
  12. I've eaten burgers from just about every type and chain of restaurant, and In-N-Out blows them all away! Double-double Animal Style for me please. I eat there once a week, religiously!
  13. The production has increased and improved on every tour. They have never "reduced" the production. No one can deny that. So Time Machine is the winner by default.
  14. NEVER mention The Beatles and One Direction in the same sentence again..... Dude, you need to re-route your daughters musical taste asap! Come on dad.
  15. Yeah they performed on Idol last night and I honestly thought it was awful. Nearly everyone who ever performs on that show sounds great, and they didn't. Joe Perry was ultra sloppy and out of tune. It was a shame cause I do like the band.
  16. I've been very lucky and somehow managed to turn all my "hobbies" into working careers. Drumming Audio Production (live & studio) Live Production & Stage Management Pyrotechnics / Explosives Lighting Engineer Web Design Decided long ago to work hard and make a living at the things I'm passionate about. I have a feeling more people would be happy if they took this approach. Again, I was just lucky.
  17. Pre-ordered the cd last night with my Amazon Prime membership, $14.88 with "release date delivery". Free shipping.
  18. I know there are some threads about this tour, but I just had to post something. What an amazing production, I was blown away. Not your typical 'rock concert', more like a multimedia video concert. The sound was possibly the best I've ever heard (Clair Brothers sound), Rogers vocals were right on, and you could hear every note played by every musician. Crystal clear. Here are some photos: The Wall - Phoenix, AZ - 5-15-12 Video: Video: Video: *recorded with my phone, and just listen to the sound. Shows you how good it sounded in the arena.
  19. My favorite National Park. Been there over 30 times. Have fun, and make sure to do the Angels Landing hike. http://www.zionnational-park.com/zion-ange...nding-trail.htm
  20. Check out the KSHE radio in St. Louis website. It's all RUSH, for the 45th anniv party. http://www.kshe95.com/
  21. My buddy in St. Louis formed a new band this year, Divine Sorrow. They are blowing up on local radio and around the region. Sound like Tool / A Perfect Circle. Very cool stuff. Please check them out. http://www.reverbnation.com/divinesorrow Listen to the song "Everything".
  22. Most likely it's none of those reasons. Touring in the summer is too hot when all you play are outdoor venues. Plus, gas prices will destroy your profit margin, especially this year. It's just too expensive to tour with a large production during the summer months.
  23. That's pretty killer man! Enjoyed it, nice playing from everyone. Welcome to the forums!
