  1. I find it fascinating that all those celebs took time away from their rape culture to actually hold an awards show.
  2. Has his voice really gone downhill though? For someone who's had throat surgery, he still sounds up to par for other entertainers his age. No, I don't believe it has. But I know that back-to-back nights on tour are tough. So anytime you can see a band after a night or two off is good thing.
  3. Yes, I'll see him in Phoenix next January. He has 3 days off before this show, so his voice should be in good shape.
  4. Certified Pre-Owned Honda Accord v6. 2013 and newer Coupe 2dr. Full dealer warranty, all maintenance covered. Best bang for the buck. Arguably the best car in it's class. Just go drive one, you'll see.
  5. I love the record. It's a true, "Styx Album", and it sounds like a Styx album. Glad they recorded it all to 2" tape, because it has "that" sound. Solid songs, great vocals, great playing, tells a story, and it sounds good. If you're a Styx fan, you'll like it. One interesting note: Since the album was recorded all analog, it smooths everything out a little too evenly (this is normal). And like most recent recordings, whether analog or digital, it was mastered to sound better on radio, Mp3 or headphones, because of the increased compression that those mediums offer. SO, my point is, if you want the album to really Pop, then rip it to 320kbps Mp3 and have a listen. You'll be shocked at how much certain instruments come out, especially the drums.
  6. I find it "challenging" to listen to songs that don't strike emotion or tell a story. The two most important things music should do.
  7. 10/10. One of my favorite tunes. Every part is absolutely perfect.
  8. Surprised this hasn't been posted yet. Great article in Billboard. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/magazine-feature/7752393/rush-charity-canadian-music-week-philanthropy
  9. Let's tone it down a bit folks. No need for personal attacks, period!
  10. Just putting this out there. We are going to Desert Trip on Sunday Oct 16, and looking to Hire a ride from our hotel to the festival and back at night. Staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Palm Desert (74900 Gerald Ford Dr.), about 16 miles from the festival grounds. Shuttles are all sold out, and getting a cab/uber might be challenging. Looking to lock-in a ride before we get there. Willing to pay at least $75. There are 3 of us. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please let me know asap. Thanks!!
  11. The new album is fantastic! It was produced by Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), and has his style all over it. One of the best producer/songwriters in the past 20 years. Listen to the Fountains of Wayne album "Traffic and Weather". It's a masterpiece.
  12. Yes, they added a second weekend just before tickets went on sale for the first weekend. Both weekends sold out in 2 hours.
  13. I was incredibly lucky this morning to grab 5 tickets to this amazing festival. It sold out (300,000 tickets) in under 2 hours! Those who aren't aware, it's a 2 weekend festival on the Coachella grounds in Indio, CA. Friday - Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones Saturday - Neil Young and Paul McCartney Sunday - The Who and Roger Waters We're going Sunday October 16 to see The Who and Roger Waters. I am so stoked for this show.
  14. That is awesome!!!! WOW!!!! Hey do have a link to watch some of your band? I think I watched a video or two years ago! I can't remember!!! STYX RULES! Thanks man. It was a great show. Here are a few videos of my band doing some Zeppelin. Here's an original tune,
  15. We opened for them in 2011. Great guys, monster players. Todd Sucherman (drummer) is a friend. Here's a link to my facebook photo album from the show. Styx & Filabusta 2011 http://www.filabusta.com/images/styx_concert/styx_drumhead_signed_2011.jpg
  16. This June my band is headed to 25th Street Recording in Oakland, CA to make a record with the amazing John Cuniberti, who is Joe Satriani's producer/engineer. He has graciously invited out to this world class recording studio for 12 days to make a 10 song record. One of the great things about this project is it will be All Analog...no Pro Tools, few overdubs, no computers, all to 2" tape through an API 64 channel Vision console. This is a huge opportunity for us to record with John Cuniberti. He is a world class producer/engineer who has produced some of the biggest bands, and of course all of Joe Satriani's records including Surfing With The Alien. Needless to say, but we are f*cking stoked!! Here's a video tour of the studio, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij7UXO5SNC0 , and some images below. http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_2.jpg http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_1.jpg http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_3.jpg http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_4.jpg http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_5.jpg http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_6.jpg http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_7.jpg http://www.filabusta.com/images/25thstreet/25thstreet_8.jpg
  17. This is great. I dislike most tribute bands, but these guys nail it pretty well. I'd go see them. Anyone else notice the broken bass drum head in Cinderella Man?
  18. Saw them in Phoenix a few months ago, from the Front Row Pit! Maybe the best rock concert I've ever seen. These guys are the real deal, and they put on an in-your-face rock show. Amazing energy, great performances, perfect production, and their 2 hour and 40 minute set was a massive greatest hits show. I was a fan before this concert, but now I'm a huge fan. More bands need to pay attention to the Foo's, and bring back the Rock. I took some pretty nice pics from front row. On my Facebook (public): Foo's Live Pics
  19. Foo Fighters Tonight, in Phoenix at Ak-Chin Pavilion. Tickets are in The Pit...front row baby!
  20. Did you see Meru? If not, go see it now.
  21. Seeing it tomorrow in IMAX with my good friend Brian O'Connor, son of supreme court justice Sandra Day O'Connor. Brian has summited Everest without oxygen, and he gave me one of my prize possessions, a prayer scarf that he took to the summit! Pretty cool seeing this film with someone who has climbed the mountain.
  22. Oh, well I not sure. The article was dated yesterday. If it's old news then sorry for the post.
  23. Hope this hasn't been posted here yet. It's pretty awesome! Rush Is A Band member was on Jeopardy last night, with Neil's sticks as a good luck charm. Not sure if she's a member here at TRF. http://www.rushisaband.com/blog/2015/07/16/4416/Rush-fan-on-tonights-episode-of-Jeopardy-brings-pair-of-Neil-Peart-drumsticks-for-good-luck On a side note, my good friend Tina Uihlein is on Jeopardy tomorrow night (friday sept 18). How ironic.
