  1. We saw it on opening night and absolutely loved it. Great story, great acting, great filming, great special effects, very cool ending. I easily give it 4 stars.
  2. QUOTE (PanaceaFish @ Jan 29 2009, 04:51 PM) Am I the only one who actually likes this show, or are there others who share in my affliction?? I watch Every show, Every year !
  3. Is everyone ready for a new season of 24 ? They are kind enough to give us a 2 hour movie tonight and the season is scheduled to begin on Jan 11, 2009 (i think).
  4. My wife and I just watched Juno last night and loved it. What a great movie! Ellen Page gave a fantastic performance, as well as all the others. A++ flick.
  5. He just released a statement about the show. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx/?n...20445&GT1=BUZZ1
  6. He's just an idiot and a Terrible artist. I've seen him (unfortunately) perform on numerous tv talk shows and it's always just horrid! How does anyone like this guy?
  7. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jun 6 2008, 11:26 AM) QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Jun 6 2008, 02:17 PM) There's a difference between Prog and Progressive? now I dont know what the hell Kansas is. He's saying Prog and Progressive Rock are two separate genres, I think. Interesting concept. I've always (and still do) consider them one in the same. That's the way I feel. They are the same, exactly the same. Prog derived from Progressive, plain and simple. Kansas is a Progressive Rock Band. They are not a hard rock band. Deep Purple is not a Progressive Rock Band they are a Hard Rock band. Here's my lame definition of what "progressive" means: If the majority of your songs have more than 3 time signature changes, then you are a progressive band.
  8. QUOTE (Pags @ May 21 2008, 07:17 PM) We kinda sat there in shock when we heard the name Cook. We all thought the kid was the runaway winner. I'm a huge admirer of the top 3 this season. So with a David/David finale I didn't have a preference of who won - but I honestly thought the kid would take it. He killed last night. Still, really happy for Cook. He's incredible. Sure David A. killed last night but overall Cook is the star! He was the guy from the beginning, always knew he would be in the top 2, best true performer of any of them, most marketable, and I am so glad he won. The show has redeemed itself. I was not shocked when I heard Ryan say his name. I predicted (to my wife and friends) that David Cook was the next American Idol during week 7, just barely after auditions were over. This is GREAT for the music industry. How about the 97,000,000 votes!!?? That is just amazing! Good for you America.
  9. QUOTE (hope70 @ May 21 2008, 02:34 PM) but I think he laid down because he doesn't want to be known as an AI winner. The kid is going to win. No way in hell! You don't laydown on Idol or anywhere in life.
  10. Archie did a better job last night for sure, but Cook is what the show needs. If Cook doesn't win I honestly think Idol is in trouble. Look at the last few winners, they have done nothing. America's got it wrong the past few years and if it happens again there will be problems for the show. Archie can't sell records, Cook can, period! I know Daughtry is a huge star and he finished 3rd, so you don't have to win to become huge, but the show needs it's "star" to win this year. We'll see tonight.
  11. TRFM is working fine now. Sorry to anyone who had problems.
  12. I still want to know why the "gay" (sexuality) thing came up. I can't find a post where anyone said this. Elton is one of the finest songwriters of our time. Remember, a well written song is a well written song. Regardless of who wrote it. But then again this is the Rush Forum, where most people are blind to good songwriting by anyone other than Rush. Understandable I guess, but not excusable. I appreciate someone who writes "I admire his songwriting but I don't like his music". As opposed to "he sucks now and his only good songs were in the 70's". Come on... He writes with much more passion now than he ever did. In the 70's they were rock songs, now they actually have tons of feeling. Oh yea feeling, what's that in todays music. Very few artists write with any emotion anymore, at least not like Elton does.
  13. QUOTE (VaporTrails04 @ Feb 13 2008, 12:02 PM) why do people have to bring his sexuallity into a topic about his music? pure ignorance Where and who said anything about that?
  14. One of the best songwriters to ever grace the planet. Mabey the best actually, but that's a bit bold. I love just about everything he has ever done. A few years ago he released a live dvd that was filmed in Turkey, Live at Ephesus, that is the most amazing live sound I have ever heard. I'm an audio freak and this concert is the most natural, clean sound I have ever heard. Plus his playing and vocal that night were better than I have ever heard. Get it. There's lots of it on YouTube: (although youtube audio sucks) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJj1JPZLJto Watch his playing on Honky Cat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzElZ4z-9I8
  15. QUOTE (apetersvt @ Nov 2 2007, 08:31 AM) Just a quick note to let you know that our brand new live DVD, Are you in the band apetersvt ? The reference to "our brand new dvd" is why I ask. I love Govt Mule btw.
  16. Solar Flares: Thank god we have an atmosphere surrounding this planet. Take care of the planet people or one of these solar flares could strip the planet clean!
  17. QUOTE (Rush! @ Aug 16 2007, 10:10 AM) Nebulas are so cool. The glowing stars surrounding a nebula usually make up the color itself, and the gas reflects the light. Just in case anybody didn't know. I'm pretty sure that the gas surrounding nebula's is what gives off certain colors. The stars within the nebula just illuminate the gas. Stars give off white light and depending on which gases are present in the nebula depends on which colors of the spectrum are displayed. BTW, the colors are only apparent during very long exposure photography. The exception might be the Orion Nebula which is just 'slightly' green through a telescope.
  18. Anyone who's into Mt. Everest might remember last years hit series on the Discovery channel "Beyond The Limit". Well it's back and better than ever. Some familiar climbers have returned to attempt the summit again. Tuesday nights @ 10pm. The first one was last night and was awesome.

  22. I know, I know.... Bob Saget !!?? Yes, his stand-up routine is absolutely hillarious. This guy is way out there and sick as sick can get. Very funny shit. Check it out on HBO this month is you get a chance. Bob Saget - 'That Ain't Right' **warning... Do Not watch it with kids around.
