  1. I can't be the only Rush fan who hears a RUSH song and ALWAYS will try to imitate Geddy (although no one else I know says I sound like Geddy). "Limelight" is where I'm most guilty of doing this. Who else is guilty of doing this?
  2. 7: You internally FREAK OUT when you realize your English teacher has an Ayn Rand book in her room. I KID YOU NOT.
  3. You know you're a RUSH fan when: 1: You know every single RUSH studio album in order of release (which I do: Rush, Fly By Night, Caress of Steel, 2112, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, Presto, Roll the Bones, Counterparts, Test for Echo, Vapor Trails, Snakes and Arrows, and Clockwork Angels- and no, I did not cheat!) 2: You wrote an entire musical based around their music. 3: You cannot wait for December 21 and write the date the British way on that day only just so it can be 21/12 4: You hold a celebration to RUSH starting on December 21st at 9:12 PM (21:12 on 21/12) 5: You have memorized the lyrics to over 10 RUSH songs 6: You try to sound like Geddy Lee whenever you sing a RUSH song
  4. None. I have never and will never be at a single RUSH concert. Unless they decide to perform on Stephen Colbert and my family gets tickets. LOL
  5. I will agree there, but THIS recording blew my mind. (Wait for "Each of us, a CELL of awareness...")
  6. This. S&A was the last tour where he sounded good. I still enjoyed the hell out of every show I saw until the end, but the last three live releases are nearly unwatchable because his voice is too brutal to endure. The way he ruined the chorus to Marathon makes me sad. Poor Geddy... :( I really don't want anyone to run into him on the street and say: "Your voice sounds terrible now and you can't sing." I'm pretty sure that would break his heart.
  7. To the RUSH fans out there who have seen any of the recent RUSH performances: What do you think of Geddy Lee's voice nowadays? I know he can't hit the same notes that he used to thanks to age, but do you think his voice has aged well?
  8. There are things that would have me believe he's a nice guy in the real world, but this isn't really one of them . . . you know this is a prearranged skit for an internet channel, right? ( I like Geddy as well but Paul Rudd bugs me.). :P Yes, I am well aware that this entire thing was a staged skit. But here's the thing. If my friend went to a RUSH concert with me on my birthday and faked backstage laminates; if we looked like total fools in front of the Holy Triumvate; if we clearly weren't welcome to go backstage in the first place; if we ate Neil Peart's sandwich, and Geddy Lee STILL had the absolute generosity to get all the members of RUSH to sign my double-neck bass and then give it to me and tell me "you forgot something- happy birthday," despite EVERYTHING else that happened (which based on the interviews sounds like something he would do), I would be practically screaming with joy and hailing Geddy Lee as one of the most generous and forgiving men in the world. In other words, even though the whole thing was staged, that one moment at the end where Geddy gives Paul Rudd's character a SIGNED BASS, despite EVERYTHING that they went through and despite being kicked out of the room, is, in my opinion, EXTREMELY generous and one of the most heartwarming moments in that entire clip. To me, he didn't just give him that signed bass as a birthday gift. One word, script. You gotta admit, that was the most heartwarming scene in that clip, even if it was scripted. :)

  10. Watch this video. Watch it to the very end. I dare you not to tell me that Geddy Lee is an absolute SWEETHEART. Or, at least that's how I see it.
  11. And by the way, if ponies represented the Holy Triumvate: In my opinion: Fluttershy (or possibly Applejack) would be Geddy Twilight Sparkle would be Neil and IT'S SO OBVIOUS AS TO WHO WOULD BE ALEX that I probably don't even need to say it.
  12. Hello, RUSH bronies! I would like to inform you that I have a thread over in Turn the Page where I made RUSH ponies! Please check it out! Thank you!
  13. OH MY WORD!!! Lucky you!! I REALLY want to meet Geddy... Wait, HE seemed the most reserved? Huh. I thought that honor would go to Neil instead.
  14. I can't say that I met him, but I did exchange a couple of words with him after he and Alex had concluded a RockLine radio broadcast. He was as cool as can be expected for someone who just wanted to get back to his hotel room. edit: Actually he was cooler than that. So... it seems like he's just as much of a nice guy as they say he is in real life.
  15. Has anyone here had the insane privilege of meeting the Bass God of the Holy Triumvate, Mr. Geddy Lee himself? If so, what was it like? Note: I have not met Geddy Lee, but if I did, I would probably scream and freak out.
  16. New World Man. "Each of us, a cell of awareness..."
