  1. Where've you been too? Trying to keep sane. Are you voting in the poll? No. I've heard of only 5 of these bands. Consider yourself lucky. There are probably just 2 or 3 that I'd consider tolerable, and even that would be in small doses.
  2. It's just their sense of humor. Toyah's doing what she's doing and Robert's portraying the opposite end. For me, they're hard to watch even though I know what they're supposed to be.
  3. You must be talking about US MTV? I'm in Europe and watched a lot of MTV Europe from '89 and forward, and i don't remember ever seeing any music videos from Presto(or older), have seen a few during the later parts of 90'(and this side) on VH1, but never old MTV Europe. Yup
  4. Love eggs. Thinking of making the omelette volcano. Are you ok with raw eggs? I mean, you're able to make an omelette, to get to that stage without feeling sick? What commitment :D  Raw eggs have the nasty, snot like texture but it’s no big deal handling them. I used to bake a lot of cakes in college and a bit after that so no prob. My hatred of eggs is so widely known that even a few of the kids I teach in high school tease me about eggs this eggs that and how they had eggs for breakfast or lunch. Some Blaze brothers used to occasionally offer me money to take even a single bite of whatever kind of egg they were having. One sadistic Blaze bro occasionally even hid some egg under my rice and sausage so that I’d have a “tasty treat” when I reached the bottom of the bowl. That same bro would chase me around the house with a spoonful of eggs tormenting me
  5. Well now you have the perfect tool, my playlist, if you got Spotify that is. Spread it to all Rush fans you know! I can't remember having ever heard Til Tuesday in the 80's, i didn't get MTV(Europe) until 1989, and i guess they where gone by then. Have only listened to their albums 3-4 times each so far, but i like what iv'e heard. I rank Aimee's solo stuff closely behind supreme fs/s goddess Tori, and in the end they might either switch places in my heart or join each other at the top. Sheryl Crow was also high in my book, but she went too pop with i think it was her fourth album. Soaking the sun something. Her albums afterwards i have only listened to once or twice, but they got heavier and more country, so better than pop anyway. Can't remember ever having seen a Rush video on MTV back then either btw. I hate Youtube, you either get stuck for hours watching baby kittens doing silly things, or you find stuff that that gets you crying. After the interview i found a couple if Time Stand Still covers in the right column, one by the US Army and one by Mike Masse i think his name was, and now my eyes are red. Well, MTV played quite a bit of Rush videos in the 80s all the way up through Show Don't Tell and The Pass which I saw a lot of back then. Til Tuesday was also shown a lot, and that particular Daytona gig I posted I remember watching back then when I was in high school. As for YouTube, I disagree with you. It's great. So much goodness is there to be found, just don't get caught being a slave to it.
  6. Some cool comments by Alex on Time Stand Still and how Aimee was chosen: http://youtu.be/ecFciNatOHc
  7. Welcome to TRF, RushMann! I never ventured much past 'Til Tuesday's debut but man(n) is it a great one. What I've heard of Mann's solo stuff is pretty decent, I just haven't looked too deeply. A 3fer for you http://youtu.be/O6eeURFNmxI http://youtu.be/2ccHbRkOK1o http://youtu.be/F0V8CpT0Iow :blaze:
  8. Mrs. B and I are both teleworking the rest of this week so I made her lunch: a massive ham & cheese omelette. This is of particular excellence seeing that I loathe eggs. LOATHE. It's my kryptonite. I get too close and sometimes the whiff of them makes me want to vomit. But I made them for her anyway because she loves eggs. The bonus was that she said they were restaurant-level quality. :blaze:
  9. For me that last question is the tough one. Generally, I can decide with this stuff but there’s just too much meat in that section of the poll!
  10. "Video Unavailable""This video contains content from WMG, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds" Ah well. Well, watch Tin Machine’s “Under the god” if you haven’t already. Pretty cool vid
  11. When I came to do this thread that was the album in my mind, even though it ended up in the second poll. That first side ((when albums had sides)) kicks ass. The second side is passable albeit somewhat forgettable.
  12. Who Are You is the only one which blows away its competition. Tin Machine is underrated.
  13. Y&T kill. They had one of the greatest 4 album runs in 80s metal. They're metal? Summertime Girls seems to go against that lol. The next Earl poll will involve Y&T. vs Aldo Nova? You know if they go up against someone like Kansas, Y&T will likely get their ass kicked.
  14. Earl’s connection to Y&T is that he’s buddies with one of the members so that probably adds to his liking. His connection to Accept’s Balls to the Wall is his left and right testicles.
  15. Must’ve taken months to come up with those lines! Look at the rest of it: Mama said, she said it's gonna be alright Yes she did, well come to bed and turn out the light She's sleeping there, she's dreaming through her life Yes, she is Well you know you've done no wrong All you done is sing this song You sing this song, yeah On a Saturday night On a Saturday night Everything is alright (wooh!) That's when the bad man meets his fate Sitting there, you're feeling only second rate You're sorry now, you've come a little bit too late Yes, you did But when you come around You only bring you down You feel a clown, yeah On a Saturday night On a Saturday night Everything is alright, yeah, yeah Mama said, she said it's gonna be alright You know she said, you've got to see the coming light You know you are, you're riding through your life Yes, you are Well, you know you've done your best All you need's a little rest You've done your best, yes On a Saturday night On a Saturday night Everything is alright Everything is alright On a Saturday night On a Saturday night Everything is alright Everything is alright Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Saturday night Looks like that Elton John song where he’s repeating Saturday over and over
  16. And with tunes with titles like “Fat Girl (Thar She Blows)” and “Party All Day (f**k All Night)”, Steel Panther was a very close Earl sloppy second.
  17. Wow, I enjoy all of these except new Maroon 5. Also, Billie Eilish is a great singer imo. She reminds me of Billy Holiday. Have you heard her James Bond theme? Billy Holiday?! That’s like comparing Shia LeBouf’s ability to Paul Newman’s. Oh man I couldn’t disagree more. Ellish is modern day pseudo-angst pop bollocks while Holiday’s voice was a finely tuned jazz instrument. I can feel the blues when I hear Holiday. I feel like killing myself when I hear Ellish. :P [edited to add]: I guess there’s nothing really to disagree with. I just don’t see the comparison one bit to Holiday. “Great singer”? - to each his own of course.
  18. Classic Pratt in this scene: http://youtu.be/7JCf9MTJ5kI
  19. The classic mustache of course. Nothing else compares.
  20. I thought Yoko stole those ideas and put them on some of her own albums. Songs went something like this: “Ahhhhhohhhhwaiiiiyaaaaaahhh...uhhhhh...eeeeeiiiii....”
