  4. Hell yes. A few of these will make my 10. Carry Fire is amazing.
  5. YEEESSSSSS!!! Oh, what a great concert for them! I hope they ignored some of Adam's more provocative comments though, hehe. HAHA! Went over their heads, thankfully!!!
  6. Brought my 2 sons(11 & 10) to see Queen & AL. A night 34 years in the making. What an experience. When Freddie's image appeared at the end of Love of My Life, the tears flowed.
  7. Didn't you meet Dave Gregory? I met all of Big Big Train except for DG! A nice bunch of people too. Nick D'Virgillo was so friendly.
  8. The nicest ones I've met: Rick Wakeman Steve Hackett Fish Jon Anderson King's X - all three - gentlemen Biggest surprise: Steve Howe, was expecting a cold fish because of the stories I'd read & heard, but he was lovely.
  9. To my ears, the greatest rock rhythm guitarist there has ever been. Of ALL the deaths this year, Mal's hit me the hardest.
  10. It's torture watching and listening to Ian these days, so I'll pass.
  11. Belfast and Manchester tickets sorted. Bring it on.
  12. Wobbler - From Silence to Somewhere Wonderful ScandiProg from Norway's finest, with zephyrs of Yes, Crimson, Gryphon & Amazing Blondel flying around the place. Tusmorke( a couple of Wobbler members in this collective) - Bydyra Their second release of 17, and they've upped the weirdness. It's a musical written for and performed with children. It's proggy as hell and then there's the kids choir. Quite nuts.
  13. Some new ones... The Tangent - The Slow Rust of Forgotten Machinery Peter Hammill - From The Trees Koyo - Koyo Von Hertzen Brothers - War Is Over 4 absolute crackers, 2017 another fab year for new music. If any of you want to dig a bit deeper into different types of prog, there's a bonkers 3cd comp just out called One Way Glass, Dancefloor Prog, Brit Jazz & Funky Folk 1968/75. Some crazy stuff on there.
  14. You got a lotta nerve to say you've got a helping hand to lend You just want to be on the side that's winning.
  15. But you who philosophize disgrace and criticize all fears Take the rag away from your face Now ain’t the time for your tears
  16. Shadows are falling and I’ve been here all day It’s too hot to sleep, time is running away Feel like my soul has turned into steel I’ve still got the scars that the sun didn’t heal There’s not even room enough to be anywhere It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there Well, my sense of humanity has gone down the drain Behind every beautiful thing there’s been some kind of pain She wrote me a letter and she wrote it so kind She put down in writing what was in her mind I just don’t see why I should even care It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there Well, I’ve been to London and I’ve been to gay Paree I’ve followed the river and I got to the sea I’ve been down on the bottom of a world full of lies I ain’t looking for nothing in anyone’s eyes Sometimes my burden seems more than I can bear It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there I was born here and I’ll die here against my will I know it looks like I’m moving, but I’m standing still Every nerve in my body is so vacant and numb I can’t even remember what it was I came here to get away from Don’t even hear a murmur of a prayer It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there
  17. Had the good fortune to see Alice last night. WHAT A GIG! Magnificent. And Nita Strauss, my GOD, she is amazing. And beautiful.
  18. A few months on, and 100+ new releases bought and listened to, The Mission is still my favourite release of the year, alongside the GORGEOUS Adios Senor Pussycat by Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band.
  19. A blight on country music, to these ears. His immense popularity in the US & here in Ireland flummoxes me. But, if he floats your boat, good for you.
  20. I missed this! Happy Anni, noble King of Queen.
