  1. And we're all at work. There was a time when a hint of snow would have me diving for the covers. We're in the grasp of the MAN.
  2. It's snowing outside the office window and I'm playing Bob Mould's Black Sheets of Rain. Gonna be a strange one. Morning All.
  3. Morning All, And carrying on with the whole pancake thing, what exactly is the "Shrove" in Shrove Tuesday????? I need to know..... How does one Shrove, or Shrive even, is Shrove past tense????
  4. There's a girl who works down the chip shop, swears she's Hilda, well she's a liar but i'm not sure about you......
  5. Hi everyone, Hope your week goes swimmingly. Nebbish, hope your Monday has improved!!
  6. As a shaven headed individual I can tell you it's damn cold here in Galway this morning!! Good morning to you all, it's nearly Friday!
  7. My wife and I saw it over Christmas, really enjoyed it. Wonderfully old fashioned. The kids were great, in an Ealing 1950's kind of way. An antidote to the smart-arsery of the Harry Potter films.
  8. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Feb 20 2006, 08:51 AM) QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Feb 20 2006, 08:34 AM) Morning All, From a crispy, cold West of Ireland. It's Monday, dammit. Same in the North West, but at least it's crisp and dry - No sign of any rain though. Good morning!!. Yes, no rain, ideal for a drive, heading to Ballina for a meeting, with Mr.Zevon to accompany me along the way.

  10. Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans King Crimson - Red Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti Husker Du - New Day Rising How to Survive on a Desert Island - Various(Audio Book)
  11. I like playing A Love Supreme by John coltrane whilst making a nice cup of tea. The fitness levels on this thread cause me great shame.
  12. RT - The Life And Times of Richard Thompson - box set. I might not be going outside for a while........!
  13. Saw the legendary Bob Mould last night in the Roisin Dubh, Galway. Just him and a guitar. Played a perfect mix of solo, Husker Du and Sugar. Night was almost ruined by a drunken asshole(aren't they always?) trying to get bob's attention. Bob gave him his trademark 1000 yard stare a few times, until this prick tried to take down the mic stand. Bob then said, "seeing as you've been the centre of attention all night, it's only right that you're the first person to leave tonight. What do you think"? Crowd: Yeah!!! Along come security, who were far too slow off the mark all night, and ejected aforementioned asshole, to the tune of "Cheerrio, cheerio, cheerio"!! Bob then launched into Makes No Sense At All, and left us. What a guy.
  14. The Futureheads Rory Gallagher - Rory Gallagher War of The Worlds - Remastered The Mars Volta - Francis The Mute Gang Of Four - A Brief History of the 20th century
  15. Had a rather strange dream last night. I was in a baby toy store(6 weeks to go before my wife gives birth to Rushfan No.1!!) and I came across a book, which was a kids version of The Wall, Scarfe illustrations, the lot, but there was no mention of Floyd, anywhere!!! I went to the checkout desk to mention this blatant plagiarism to the staff members, but, wait for it, they HAD NO FACES!!!!! I woke up soon after and my wife informed me that the baby was kicking like crazy all night, worst night yet!! I reckon he/she was headbanging!! I am no longer allowed to play music to my unborn musical genius.
  16. Great track, beats lumps out of Virtuality, lyrics wise. "Put a message in a modem, and throw it into cyber-sea". No,
  17. I saw Robert Plant last night in the Olympia Theatre, Dublin. He was absolutely fantastic! I've seen him twice with Jimmy, but last night topped the lot. He played about 1/2 of Mighty Rearranger, 4 songs from Vol4, 2 from Vol2 and 1 from Vol3, a cover of 7 and 7 is and Hey Joe. When the Levee Breaks was out of this world, and he closed with a killer version of Whole lotta Love. The other highlight of the night was seeing all the R30 tour shirts dotted around the theatre. It was good to talk to some like-minded individuals, including one guy who was at the Frankfurt show. I told him about the R30 Europe Viewing party, I hope he joined in. A great night.
  18. Roy Harper - Stormcock King Crimson - 1981-2003(4cd set)
  19. Different Stages for me. It has it all, plus 2112(all of it), the best version of Roll the Bones(way ahead of the studio version, the live version of Dreamline also rocks. The best live album ever, quite possibly, alongside Thin Lizzy, Live and Dangerous(I know it was doctored, but God how it rocks!!!!)
  20. Kate Bush - Aerial Her best since Hounds of Love, in fact it's better than HOL and that's some claim. It's a magnificent piece of work, her finest hour. This is going to rack up a lot of album of the year gongs. Roll on 2018!!
  21. Hard Fi - Stars of CCTV Elbow's - leaders of the free world - excellent Roy Harper - Counter Culture - 2cd compilation of the great man's finest Bell X1 - Flock
  22. I find folk-punk particularly horrid, followed closely by the awful Country and Irish (mentioned more than once before on this forum). In fact change those around, country and Irish is far, far worse than folk-punk! Strip good country of all its emotion and add a healthy dollop of cynicism and apathy towards an audience that knows no better, and, ta-daa, COUNTRY AND IRISH!!!!
