Thanks for the info. What about Making Memories? Did they play that? I really like it. I feel it would have been a good song for the R40 encore due to it's subject matter. It's hard to pick one from Fly By Night, even the worst songs on it are superb

He blatantly got that from the record sleeve. No one calls it "At the Tobes of Hades" they'd just say "By-Tor & the Snow Dog". Well, Rush doesn't appeal to everyone I guess

I don't think they ever played it live, which is a good thing. 21 minutes of a RUSH set you could 3 or 4 other songs in there. Maybe if they played Panacea and incorporated Didacts & Narpets into the drum solo of life

I love La Villa from the Time Machine Tour. how it starts off with that accordion like sound on Alex's pedals, then drops into that crushing A chord. I really enjoyed the live version of The Enemy Within from the Grace Under Pressure tour. I also like one of the final songs of this video, the YYZ/Temples of Syrinx/Tom Sawyer medley. They seem to play YYZ at a higher tempo than usual. It sounds even more frantic. Also Circumstances from the Snakes & Arrows tour. My favourite version of Xanadu is the studio one I think. And I've heard a few different live versions of The Camera Eye and always prefer the studio recording

Between The Wheels is a classic. I love the crowd pop as the first chords play out!

Yeah I know, but just because we don't like it doesn't mean other people don't. As strange as it is, Sebastian Bach has fans that go to his gigs and I'm sure that version of Red Barchetta appealed to at least one of them. I know what you mean by asking yourself "am I doing this justice?" but maybe they were going for a rougher sounding song, and maybe they intended it to go that way. Who knows. I know I won't be watching any more Sebastian Bach RUSH covers though

Well they went through the trouble to learn the song, so that shows they must have put some effort in. Whether it was a good version or not is a different argument, but credit where credit is due. I imagine he did a better job than what you could do!

The reason you don't like YYZ is because other people like it? Lol. It's a great track, specially the dueling drums & bass sections. I wouldn't have said it was boring at all, but if you've listened to anything enough times it can start to grate on you.

I think it's a shame that all these popular musicians are tributing our favourite band and all we do is turn our noses up at it. That being said, this video was god-awful. Sebastian Bach must be one of those "love him or hate him" kind of guys, as I struggled to see anything good about his performance. Even his intro was rubbish "it's about a car, in a barn, on a farm". Nice effort guys but stick to your own songs

For me it's a mixture of thoughtful, profound words over technical instrument playing. But the fact they've been doing it for this long is pretty cool too

Necromancer! Necromancer or In the End

In no particular order: Tears, Chemistry, Countdown, Red Lenses, most of HYF, most of Presto, most of RTB.

Some of the later Rush albums required multiple listens to like, but CoS I enjoyed right from the off. The meaty riffs in Bastille Day and Lakeside Park, the insane solos in The Necromancer and Neil's drum solo in Fountain of Lamneth. It's like they expanded on Rivendell from FBN and then some. It's not their best album but I prefer it to Hold Your Fire!

Fan since 2014, known about them since S&A. My colleague (huge fan) let me borrow the album. I wasn't keen on it. Fast forward to 2014, I find an original Hemispheres LP (complete with peelable T shirt offer sticker) at a car boot sale for £5, bought it, listened to it, loved it, watched the Time Machine Tour and was hooked from then on.

So many great moments on this DVD to pick from... When the RTB rap video starts, that's awesome. When they announce Losing It and the two guys in the crowd high five. Playing Losing It, Alex and Ben Mink having a laugh on the stage while playing. Towards the end of the interlude when the intro to Tom Sawyer hits and everyone cheers. And always my favourite part of most Rush shows, "Concert hall!" and all the cheers that follow, gives me goosebumps every time!

I don't know. Those keyboards sound amazing to me! As for Working Man, they couldn't NOT include it. And why not? It's a jam

I really enjoy listening to The Main Monkey Business. I think it's a lot better than Where's My Thing or Leave That Thing Alone. But defo not as good as La Villa Strangiato or YYZ. I think The Larger Bowl and TMMB were great picks to represent S&A on R40 Live, although TBH I would've preferred just TMMB and the extra minutes used to play Emotion Detector. But that's just me.

I'm glad Lakeside Park made the cut. Poor Ged, I don't blame him for not wanting to sing it, specially after singing for the last 3 hours. That's a true professional. I would've liked them to touch on Between The Wheels, or more specifically, why it featured on R40. I love it, it's a great song, but is it the best representation of GUP? I'd have rather had Kid Gloves, The Enemy Within or Red Sector A.

I like the song. Out of all the songs on Fly By Night, this and Beneath, Between & Behind were my initial favourites of the album. Rivendell is also a nice easy song to learn how to play and sing. The version posted above I do enjoy, I even have it on my phone ripped from Youtube.
