  1. They played Sheffield City Hall in 77 & 78.
  2. Listen here... https://archive.org/details/geddy-lee-planet-rock-29-september-2023-edited
  3. Tickets purchased for Glasgow Still plenty up for grabs there. However it looks like London is a sellout (bigger city, smaller venue though).
  4. I believe zepphead lives on the Emerald Isle, a bit difficult driving from there in a couple of hours
  5. Oh don't worry I'll be there. I'm just not sure there's enough rabid Rushheads across the UK who'll be prepared to shell out for these tickets. I'll happily be proved wrong though
  6. Hope they have. For comparison Graham Nash was playing the same venue this week and tickets were around £45 - £65. Didn't include a book mind you, but he was actually performing.
  7. At these prices I don't think you need to worry about it selling out... https://www.glasgowconcerthalls.com/Pages/EventDetail.aspx?event=1/geddy-lee-my-effin-life
  8. According to this link the book is included with your ticket... https://www.loudersound.com/news/geddy-lee-announces-uk-spoken-word-tour-for-december
  9. These seem very big venues for a spoken word event. Glasgow Royal Concert Hall holds around 2500 for example. Sheffield City Hall is a poignant choice, the venue for the first Rush show outside of North America.
  10. Kind of contradicts what Vic Wilson said in BTLS that John was let go purely for health reasons. I'd heard the story before of him ripping up the lyrics and leaving Geddy to make them up in the studio. Can't have helped relations between them!
  11. Neil cited Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull as a major influence on his lyric writing. Pete Townshend too obviously. He was also an admirer of Bob Dylan's words.
  12. Interesting critique. Where would you rank some of the greats: Harrison, Clapton, Beck, Page, Hendrix, for example...
  13. Going by the previous clips, the doubleneck Alex is using after By-Tor is on The Necromancer.
  14. Great stuff I guess we've been spoiled with the brilliant audio sync work people have done. For a silent film this rocks though
  15. Happy belated birthday Alex (unless you're celebrating in Alaska).
  16. Possibly one of these, an Eastwood Mandocaster...
  17. Wow! That's the best one yet So much more of Neil. Great to see the pre Xanadu doubleneck use. Necromancer on film, mind blown!
  18. For whatever reason the Signals tour seems to have been like the Caress Of Steel tour when it comes to official live recordings. Utterly bizarre given the scale of it at the time. Hopefully now we're over that bump in the road there will be more material forthcoming....
  19. I think only a full concert release could redeem this one. It was possibly their shortest set after they became established headliners, so shouldn't be problematic squeezing it onto vinyl.
  20. Got a link? All I can find is an audio of Twilight Zone.
  21. Put this on the big TV last night and watched it all. Really fantastic interview/ analysis/ tutorial, whatever you'd call it it was great I didn't know much about Shifty with him being in the background compared to the big personalities in the Foos, but he's done a great job here and his musicianship is clear. I'd happily watch other episodes of this series.
  22. Thanks for sharing I sent the link to my cousin in ON, this was his first Rush show. Incredible that it should appear after all these years!
  23. Always thought that was a neat cultural reference from the time. They did namecheck Space Invaders in album credits (either on MP or PW, can't recall).
  24. No that was Rick Astley (QOTSA were very good though).
