  1. Absolutely. I love his tone when he's playing the P-Basses.
  2. R40 is my favorite (Though I'm biased since I was at both Toronto shows) Rush In Rio is my least favorite (Because of the awful mix)
  3. Good to know The Wreckers is from Buffalo, as that's another show I attended on this tour :)
  4. OLV, DEW, and RB are from Toronto #1. Not sure about Clockwork Angels. I think it may not be Toronto since it's not on the DVD.
  5. I don't know the layout of the venue, but if they've got built-in screens anywhere in the venue (Normally on either side of the stage, or back by the lawn for amphitheaters), those are used for the entire show - even when the on-stage screen isn't showing the band. The Sprint Center isn't an amphitheater and I don't recall any screens there that had the band - I just checked the bootlegs. They used the side screens in Kansas City - you can see them on either side of the stage in this video: The cameras were likely for this house feed.
  6. I got to see both of them do it in person. I thought Jonathan did a slightly better job of it, but it didn't have the same impact as seeing Ben do it (But maybe that's because when I saw Ben do it, it was the first performance of it in Toronto).
  7. YYZ was sloppy, but the energy on it was great - I don't remember the last time it sounded so lively.
  8. 6. Rush In Rio (Because of the atrocious mix) 5. R30 (Because of the missing songs on the CD) 4. Clockwork Angels 3. Snakes & Arrows 2. Time Machine 1. R40

  10. I almost always skip 2112 on R30 because of the pirate bit.
  11. my impression was that it was intentional... I've seen him bend things many times and it struck me as another example of that Trust me it wasn't intentional. He didn't do it other nights. Plus, it sounds objectively terrible.
  12. I went to both Columbus and Buffalo and Buffalo was by far the better show. At least I thought so. Alex acted like he was feeling better and smiled and moved around a lot more. I certainly thought all three shows were phenomenal. One major difference I noticed between Columbus and Buffalo was that the volume was WAY louder in Buffalo. I don't bring earplugs for RUSH because, despite the intense music, it almost never gets too loud to hurt my ears...but I sure wish I had a pair at the Buffalo show! I remember in Columbus during the second set, an older guy two rows ahead of me with a scraggly white beard got hauled out of there for lighting a joint (he wouldn't have had that problem in Portland, that's for sure!). I'd avoided the setlist leading up to Columbus, so almost everything was a surprise to me. I almost couldn't handle Jacob's Ladder/Hemispheres Prelude back-to-back. My cousin was probably thinking "What's WRONG with this guy?" He had a good time, though. He was mesmerized by the guitars, the drums, and the light show (but wasn't a huge fan of Geddy's voice...understandable for a kid who's used to current pop and rap, I suppose). The hardest part was lasting all the way until Portland in late July without telling my friend Mike about the setlist (he wanted to be surprised, too, and it took all I could muster to not tell him every single detail). I noticed every show I did this year was considerably louder than I'm used to for Rush. I don't think I ever wore earplugs before this year for Rush, but I was kicking myself for not taking any to Tulsa. After that, I wore them for the rest of my shows.
  13. I agree, it's one of my favorites on this release, and it was one of my favorites every time I saw them do it this Summer.
  14. My CD's imported all the track info no problem.
  15. I was looking for these problems people keep talking about, and this was the only angle I saw anything irregular from also. It doesn't seem like a disc malfunction to me either - the best way I can describe it is it looks like the frame rate is lower than the other cameras. Now that we're talking about this, I remembered I noticed this on the Jacob's Ladder preview they posted on YouTube last month also, so it's definitely not a disc issue.
  16. Several people have said they've had problems with the Blu Ray on a PS3
  17. Indeed. Just tickets alone. :o I've noticed there are fans like this for a lot of bands not just Rush. They're so dedicated to their band that they save all their money and vacation time for when they tour. Me, i've been able to afford to see them twice each over the last three tours. Anything more than that would be pushing it financially. I do that for Iron Maiden. I also have hundreds of friends that do it for Maiden as well. Last tour alone I saw 32 gigs, in 13 different countries. Next year I've got 10 gigs planned so far, and probably another 6 or 7 once they finish announcing their tour. It's so much fun, and an excellent excuse to travel! For R40, I saw 7 gigs. I probably wouldn't have done that many though if it weren't for the fact that Maiden didn't tour this year. Holy shit, I haven't seen 32 concerts period! let alone the same band! Awesome that it works out for you Thanks - it's a lot of fun. I make sacrifices so I can do it - mainly working a job I hate because I have extremely flexible scheduling. It's tough to find a job where you can just take off for a month straight if you feel like it! But it's all worthwhile when I'm on the road.
  18. The footage is definitely from the 19th, because Geddy had a different long sleeve shirt on on the 17th, and the shirt in the video matches the rest of the set. Maybe they lifted that one spot from the 17th, but that begs the question - why not fix the other flubs that made the release? So, the sound is from 17th? I can't say for sure offhand - I haven't really compared it to any Youtube videos. But the video is 100% from the 19th, even if the intro is from the 17th. The slogan in the video on the 19th was "Now with more pandas", so I'm guessing for that they wanted to go with the slogan that would make more sense to non-Toronto folks. Perhaps someone who is more versed in the videos from the gig on Youtube can weigh in on this debate?

  21. The main concert is all from the second night - the bonus tracks are all that came from the first night. Clockwork Angels was performed the first night but wasn't included on the DVD bonus tracks. Does anyone know why? Just mentioned that in the bonus track thread. All I can figure is they must have had some technical issue with the filming or something, as the performance is good.
  22. I'm scratching my head why Clockwork Angels was only included on the CD - the night 1 performance was good. All I can figure is there was some problem on the filming side of things that made it unusable. Not sure where The Wreckers or The Camera Eye come from - there's nothing particularly telling on either track that would make it easily identifiable.

  24. Cool stuff. I found myself in one semi-closeup during 2112 and a number of wide crowd shots, so I'm extremely happy about that too. Feels great to make it into a release for one of your favorite bands :)
