  1. Ha! None taken. I worded that incorrectly. I was trying to say that you'd like to *listen* to some Rush-based conversation, then you might be interested in checking it out. That's all!
  2. Steve Hackett has released a ton of live archive material over the years, and Genesis and Peter Gabriel released official bootleg CDs from their last tours. Really barebones packaging, but keeps costs low and offers a fantastic & affordable souvenir from "your" show. I'd love for Rush to do this; find someone on the level of David Bottrill to polish up a board recording and put it out directly to fans who are interested. Who knows what the legal logistics are though (in terms of the record label).
  3. Hope this is the right section - I had a chance to chat with Jay Mantis about R40 and favorite albums on the latest episode of the Rushcast podcast. It's a fun show if you're craving some Rush-based conversation! :) http://rushcast.podbean.com/
  4. Perspective, folks. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." Neil was done. He went through unimaginable hell and somehow found his way forward. Who are any of us to fault the guy for wanting to focus on his family? Alex made it clear in interviews that Neil did the R40 tour out of obligation; he felt that he owed Geddy and Alex for being there during his darkest days and wanted to do right by them. So he did. He toured and was a complete pro on every level. If he's done after this, then he's earned it. Trying to read into his expressions is just ridiculous. Not to mentioned that he's dealing with physical issues (as is Alex). If they're done, then they went out on an insanely high note and they did it with style and grace. Celebrate that! :)
  5. That is an incredible display of fan projection. "All the info we need is there?" "Indecent?" Are you kidding? No offense, but who are you (or any of us?) to assume what is going through the mind of an artist who is known for being an intensely private person and has readily (and repeatedly!) admitted in interviews that they're shy and awkward when it comes to emotions? Only one person truly knows how Neil Peart felt at the end of a major tour (and the end of this chapter of Rush), and his name is Neil Peart. Posts like this are ultimately disrespectful speculation. These guys have given their fans so much. They don't deserve fans assuming their personal feelings and emotions.
  6. Hi, I'm brand new here but I wanted my first post to be on this thread. Thank you so much for the information! I sent a copy of my Permanent Waves booklet to the Prudential Center with a little note thanking them for the music, memories, and inspiration. Presto was my first rock concert, so it was really cool to take my older son to his first show at R40. Got this back in the mail yesterday! http://i.imgur.com/cZMsUPE.jpg I was a little disappointed that Geddy wasn't able to sign it, but it's hardly the end of the world. Part of me was tempted for a moment to send it on to another show and try to get his, but then I realized that they were already very generous to take a few minutes to do this anyway. It was a really nice gesture on their part and for me as a fan, a cool memento to have connected on a slightly more personal level. I think it would be inadvertently come off as greedy/obnoxious to send it back in again, so I'm very happy with two out of three! So thank you again for sharing this bit of insider fan knowledge!
