  1. For whatever reason, the concert videos that I originally reported as being blocked now appear to be available again. Anyone else notice this?
  2. I've always enjoyed listening to or watching full length Rush concert videos on YouTube. There were some nice R40 shows there. Recently, these appear to have been taken down. One now displays the message "This video contains content from Ole Media Management, who has blocked it on copyright grounds." Since Ole bought the Rush catalog, are they taking a harder stance on copyright matters?
  3. I'm looking forward to the video release, but it does seem like they've touched up the vocals, at least a bit. Compare "begin the day" at 0:29 in the youtube video here (from the same show): with the same line at 0:42 in the official R40 version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1jxfDuiDtzU Perhaps it's just a difference in recording quality, but it sounds to me Geddy's been "airbrushed" a bit in the official R40 version. I love the band and don't mind an occassional yelp or other blip if it means i'm experiencing the show as it actually happened.
  4. It's just a little thing, but watch Geddy at 2:08:28 during Xanadu in Denver, here:
  5. I think the biggest omission from this show is that they DON'T play the extended jam at the end of Closer to The Heart that they've done on other tours. I always liked that and was hoping to hear it as part of R40 when I learned that CTTH was on the set list. But alas, they just end the song!
  6. U are welcome... if your recording ends up being better quality, please shoot me a link if possible.
  7. I used my Tascam dr-1 to record the Denver show. The wav files are here: https://mega.co.nz/#!yFUDGLqY!KWKlB7tE--qSOwaUc9gbPlabjznWKlkj4YX17MuDAvA I am a newbie at live recording... I tried to clean up the recording a bit and diminish the yelling from the two guys next to me, but I'm not much of an Audacity expert. The sound quality is fair, but still has some distortion even though I think I had the levels set right. I guess the mic on the little recorder just isn't that good. :-( I really do think this was one their best R40 performances so far. This is posted on Mega... I signed up for an account and so far it has not infected my computer. :-)
  8. Maybe those higher notes are easier to sing in thin air... sort of like inhaling helium? :-) I liked the part when Geddy jumped up on the crate on his side and played to those of us to the left of the stage for a while. Hard to get those guys away from their pedals for too long, though.
  9. Wow! Admittedly, I only saw two R40 shows (Philly and Denver) so I can't compare to other tour stops, but the two I saw were the same setlist © and Denver was clearly a stronger performance. They seemed relaxed and to be having more fun than before. Geddy sang better than any of the shows/video/audio clips I've watched so far. Even the really old/hard stuff (Lakeside Park, Anthem, etc.) sounded clear and clean and no struggling. What a great show!
  10. So what do you think...? Will they start again with Setlist A in Kansas City due to the break after the NYC show? Or pick up where they left off and play Setlist C (since Philly was also C and Newark and NYC were "one offs")?
